Former champions Asante Kotoko will face Bechem United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko are unbeaten in their last four games with two wins and two draws with their last game against Aduana FC ending 1-0  with Kalo Ouattara scoring the only goal in the match.

The Hunters seems to have found their rhythm in recent weeks after recovering from a poor start to the season.

Bechem United are winless in their first three away games with a 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman, 4-1 loss to FC Samartex and a 1-1 draw at the El- Wak Stadium against Legon Cities.

The Porcupines have  dominated their last three meetings at home against Bechem United with three straight wins in 2020/21 – 4-0 at home, 2-0 victory in the 2021/22 season and 1-0 win in the 20222/23 season.

Asante Kotoko have scored 7 goals against Bechem United at home with the away aside yet to score in Kumasi in their last three matches in Kumasi.

Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side are unbeaten in their last three games with two wins and a draw with the likes of Kalo Ouattara, Steven Mukwala Desse, Nana Banyin Amoah, Andrews Ntim Manu, Sherif Mohammed, Henry Ansu and Rocky Dwamena all available for selection.

Bechem United will rely on Emmanuel Avornyo, Augustine Okrah, Emmanuel Annor, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, Joseph Kinful, Isaiah Nyarko, Abdul Karim and Darlington Gyan Fosu on Sunday.

The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3pm on Sunday. 

Still on Sunday- Legon Cities will host Dreams FC at 3pm. Legon Cities drew 1-1 in their last home game against Bechem United and are unbeaten at home so far. Dreams FC are winless in their first three away games in the league with 1-0 loss to Bechem United, 0-0 against Hearts of Oak and a 2-0 loss to FC Samartex in Samraboi. The Royals have won once in their last five matches with 2 losses and 2 draws – sits 9th in the league table with 8 points. Dreams FC have won once in their last five matches with two losses and two draws and sit 10th with 8 points. Legon Cities have won once at home in their last three home games against Dreams FC since 2021/22 season with two of their games ending in a draw.

Elsewhere in Berekum – Chelsea will host Nsoatreman FC at the Golden City Park. Berekum Chelsea have won two of their last three games at home and are yet to lose at home.  Nsoatreman FC are winless in their their last two away games this season with one loss against Hearts of Oak and a draw against Dreams FC. Nsoatreman FC have played 19 away games in the League – with 1 win, 2 draws and 16 losses since their debut season in the 2022/23. The only away win recorded by Nsoatreman FC in the league was against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park last season. Berekum Chelsea sit 12th place with 7 points while Nsoatreman FC sit in 2nd place with 10 points having won 3, drawn one and lost one in their last five games. 

In Tarkwa – Defending Champions Medeama SC will battle FC Samartex at Akoon Park. Medeama SC won 2-0 against Samartex in the 2022/23 season and will be facing them for the second time since 2022/23 season. Samartex are winless in their three away games this season and are yet to score a goal following a 2-0 loss to Nations FC, 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC and 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium against Hearts of Oak. Medeama SC are unbeaten at home with 2-2 draw against Accra Lions and a win against Nations FC but have one outstanding game against Nsoatreaman FC to play.

Returnees Heart of Lions will host Karela United at the adopted Hohoe Sports Stadium. The Kpando lads have relocated to Hohoe after the Dam spillage affected environs of Sogakope – another adopted home venue. Heart of Lions are unbeaten in the league after playing five games without defeat.

Karela United are winless in their last four games in the league with one loss and three draws.

At the Aliu Mahama stadium, Real Tamale United will face off with Aduana FC.

Finally, Great Olympics will battle Nations FC for the first time in the Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium. Olympics are desperate for the points after falling 3-1 to Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

Nations FC sit in 16th place with one win, two losses and two draws after six round of games. Great Olympics have won two drawn two and lost one in their last five matches and sit 5th place in the league table. The Dade Boys are yet to lose a game at home after a 0-0 draw against Bofoakwa Tano on the opening day of the season. Olympics later recorded a  1-0 win over Gold Stars and a 3-0 win over Accra Lions in the other home games.

Nations FC are winless in their first three away games and will rely on the likes of Isaac Botchway, Barimah Baah, Amidou Diarra, Razak Simpson, Kwame Boakye, Emmanuel Agyemang, Nafiu Sulemana and Victor Oduro to change the unimpressive run of form. 

For Accra Great Olympics, Razak Kasim, Ebenezer Sekyere, Solomon Adomako, Kekeli Attor, Samuel Ashie Quaye, Solomon Twene, Micheal Osei, Micheal Yeboah and Emmanuel Antwi are all available for selection.

The game is scheduled for the Accra Sports stadium at 3pm on Sunday .

Bibiani Gold Stars and Hearts of Oak went head-to-head in a competitive week seven fixture of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League at Dun’s Park on Saturday.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, and Gold Stars once again struggled to defeat Hearts of Oak on their home turf in the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Early in the game, Ramos Kashala had a promising opportunity to give Hearts of Oak the lead, but he failed to direct his effort towards the goal in the 18th minute of the first half.

Yaw Amofah also had his strike saved by the Bibiani Gold Stars goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the second half.

Hearts of Oak maintained control of the game but encountered a determined defense from the host team. In the 67th minute, Evans Adomako found the net for Hearts of Oak, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside.

Appiah McCarthy, the former Ashantigold SC midfielder, converted a free kick in the 88th minute, breaking the deadlock for the home side.

It was McCarthy’s third consecutive successful free kick at Dun’s Park, giving Bibiani Gold Stars the lead just before Hearts of Oak managed to equalize.

Hamza Issah headed home the equalizer for Hearts of Oak late in injury time, preventing the Phobians from another defeat. Appiah McCarthy was later shown a red card, reducing  Gold Stars to 10 players for the remainder of the game.

With just one win in their last six games in the ongoing season, the pressure on Hearts of Oak coach Martin Koopman continues to mount.

After seven games, Hearts of Oak has accumulated six points in the Ghana Premier League.

Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak will face off at Dun’s Park on Saturday.

Life in the Premier League has been extremely difficult for Hearts of Oak this term as they have gone winless since Matchday two when they beat Nsoatreman FC 1-0 in Accra. The former African champions also hold a record of 12 away games without a win – stretching from the 2022/23 season- resulting in 3 draws and 9 losses.

The Phobians sit 17th in the league table with 5 points having won 1, lost 2 and drawn 2 in their last five games in the betPawa Premier League with Gold Stars accumulating 8 points and occupying the 8th spot – after two wins, two draws and one loss.

Head Coach Martin Koopman desperately needs a win in Bibiani to save his job having come under immense pressure in pressure weeks following a poor run of form.

Micheal Ampadu, Abdul Aziz Nurudeen, Dennis Korsah, Kofi Agbesimah, Martin Karikari, Hamza Issah, Kashala Wanet Ramos, Suraj Seidu, Salifu Ibrahim and Linda Mtange are all available to start for Hearts of Oak.

For Bibiani Gold Stars coach Michael Osei will aim to get back to winning ways having thrown away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Heart of Lions on Monday.

The Miners come into the game with a fully fit squad with the likes of Emmanuel Odai, Yahaya Adraman, Samuel Amofa, Appiah MacCarthy, Charles Gyamfi Kamara, Alex Aso, Ronald Frimpong, Prince Kwabena and Emmanuel Appau all pushing to feature.

The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3pm today.

Accra Lions scored in the second half to grab a vital away point against Bofoakwa Tano at the Coronation Park in Sunyani.

The Accra based club have been winless in their last three matches following defeats to Asante Kotoko, Accra Great Olympics and Real Tamale United.

Najib Fuseini put Bofoakwa Tano ahead in the 2nd minute to send the crises into a frenzy but the hosts failed to increase the tally before the break.

Fuseini took advantage of a poor clearance and fired into the top right corner for the opening goal.

Star man Saaka Dauda was out through for the second goal before the break but Accra Lions defended well to maintain the slim margin.

Emmanuel Dzibah won the ball in the path of Bernard Kesse, who smartly put Awuni through for the equalizer in the 70th minute.

Accra Lions were left brooding after Mohammed Yahaya had his goal bound opportunity cut out by Alhassan Ali.

Accra Lions are now 15th in the table with 6 points – 5 points of the top whiles Bofoakwa jumps to the top of the table with 11 points.

The Phobians will face Bibiani Goldstars at the dreaded Dun’s Park in week seven of the Ghana Premier League.

The former league champions have had a sloppy start to the season and are hoping for a revival against Bibiani Goldstars in the Western North Region.

Reports indicate Martin Koopman has been given three matches ultimatum to save his job or shipped out following the club’s abysmal performance in the league.

His three matches ultimatum start against Bibiani Goldstars on Saturday before that of Medeama SC and the outstanding fixture against Hearts of Lions at the Hohoe Sports Stadium.

The Dutch trainer is traveling to Bibiani with Richard Attah and Richmond Ayi as the two goalkeepers with Kofi Agbesimah and Kelvin Osei Asibey included in the squad.

Coach Koopman and his charges need to tame Bibiani Goldstars at the Dun’s Park to ease the tension in the team after recording just a win after five matches, scoring just a goal so far this season.

Hearts of Oak are currently languishing at the 17th position on the Ghana Premier League table with a paltry five points after five matches.
