Astute Sportscaster, Moses Antwi Benefo affectionately known as PJ Mozee has been appointed as the Communications Director of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
The astute journalist comes in to replace Kennedy Boakye Ansah after the 12-member Board of Directors decided to collapse the former management team.
Antwi Benefo recently returned to the media industry after a two-year break, and footy.ghpush.com/ can confirm that the Kumasi-based club has handed the position to him as Nana Yaw Amponsah strive to to revamp the structures at the club.
Moses, until his recent appointment at Nhyira FM as host, was working with state enterprise, Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) in Takoradi as Special Assistant to former Assnte Kotoko Executive Chairman, Dr. KK Sarpong.
He has previously worked with Space FM (Sunyani), Sky FM (Sunyani), Fox FM (Kumasi), Hot FM (Accra), Asempa FM (Accra) ,Metro FM (Kumasi), Happy FM (Accra) and Kyzz FM (Takoradi).
Exclusively Classic Events and Media Services has released its latest ranking of Ghanaian Sports Journalists contributing to the development of Sports.
The latest list is a conprehensive survey and data gathered from July 1 to 31 by team of experts from the organization. A statement accompanying the list read: “Our maiden ranking made waves in Ghana and many called for subsequent rankings and a deep research. This survey presented the research team with the opportunity to identify sports journalists contributing massively to the growth and development of the game in our country. Data was collected from all over the 16 regions in Ghana”.
In all, the Research Team reached out to 3000 people in Ghana.
“This ranking is not aimed at undermining the work of any journalist but rather, to appreciate the work of these journalists. The data about the journalists were gathered from these media platforms (radio, tv, online, print). Data collection involved reading articles from online and print media, listening and watching sports related programs on radio and television respectively. The research team took extensive time in re-watching, re-reading and re-listening in order to highlight important details.”
The journalists identified were ranked based on, Content of Sports Program/ Write Up – Analytical Approach to issues aimed at producing quality results, Ethics and Professionalism – The application of ethics and professionalism in the work of the journalist. Panel (Radio & TV) / Sources (Print & Online) – For TV and Radio the focus was on knowledgeable resource persons who draw conclusions without attacking personalities but rather addressing issues. For Print and Online the focal point was the sources where the stories are drawn from.
Engagements with Final Consumers of Content (Viewers, Listeners, Readers) – The concentration was directed at the engagements between the content providers and the final consumers of that particular content. Engagements in the form of reading messages, accepting calls, responding to comments and other key engagement factors.
Online | Geographical Reach of Content – The focal point of this factor was directed at the reach (length and breadth the content gets to). Frequency of Published Content in a Week (Online and Print Only) – Once a week, twice or more than thrice a week.

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have appointed Thomas Sevordzi as the club’s Finance Manager.
The appointment is part of the club’s list of newly-formed management team that will work under Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Nana Yaw Amponsah.
Recently, Sevordzi held the CEO position at Vasco Consult Limited and also a Business Consultant to Pro Vita Specialist Hospital.
Before these portfolios, the finance expert was also the Manager for Investment Banking at Strategic Hedge Capital for 2014-15.
Sevordzi has been a chartered accountant since 2013 and is currently a member of the Global Advisory Board of Wells Mountain Initiative, USA.

Former Ghana star, Rev Osei Kofi believes Asamoah Gyan must bid farewell to the national team to maintain his reputation and achievement for the West African country.
The Asante Kotoko legend insists with Gyan’s achievement for the country, he must save his name by taking a bow from the national team.

According to him, he is not enthused about the continuous appointment of individuals to that position on part-time basis.

Former management member, Solomon Ofosu Ware has kicked against the idea of appointing an active sports caster in a role that demands full attention.
“You can’t do any other job while working for Kotoko as a management member, I know what I’m saying because I’ve been there before. It’s very difficult to work at Kotoko’s Communications Department than to be a CEO” Chairman Solo told OTEC FM.
“P.J Mozay really qualifies for the position but the timing and nature of his job won’t permit him. He may have issues with the media if he decides to keep every news for the station and through that the management may collapse, we’ve experienced some before. I suggest he should be given a different role in the management” He added

The Manager of midfielder Latif Anabila, Alex Akumey has provided a fresh update on the imminent move of his client to Asante Kotoko.
The Black Stars B midfielder decided against extending his deal with AshantiGold after his initial contract expired in July, fueling his move to the Porcupine Warriors.
Since then, the hierarchy of the Porcupine Warriors and Annabella has been on the negotiation table but the deal is yet to be announced officially.
However, Alex Akumey has disclosed that Kotoko could announce the deal next week should all contractual obligations be reached in the coming days.
“We’ve been talking to Kotoko for long, even before COVID and we’ve met the coach and CEO severally but it’s left with some ”clauses” in the contract,” Alex Akumey told Oyerepa 100.7FM
“We have also sent ours to them for review so we come to terms, that’s the only thing left now and I believe in the coming days if they(Kotoko) are able to come to terms with our conditions the deal will go through.
“He had offers abroad and had to compare them but Maxwell Konadu, the CEO and the club as a whole has an interest in him so they were able to convince as to why he should opt for Kotoko. Both parties have to come to terms in our next meeting in the coming days and sign a deal, ” he disclosed.

Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has urged Ghana Football Association to plan a testimonial match in honour of Asamoah Gyan when he retires.
The technical handlers of the Ghana Football Association have maintained Andre Ayew as substantive captain of Ghana, with Thomas Partey and Richard Ofori as his assistants excluding Asamoah Gyan.
The 34-year-old has not had the best of times with the Black Stars of Ghana in the last year. There have been calls for his retirement after 17 years of great service to the heaviest African country.
However, Gyan has insisted that he still has what it takes to continue his career despite the recurrent injuries.
Sam Johnson believes that the Ghana FA should organise a testimonial game for Gyan if he finally decides to retire from active football.

“It would be good for them to organise a testimonial match, but I don’t think they will do it. It’s never in their minds to organise such ceremonies for our players, ” he told Hello FM.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in an official release announced on Sunday that Swansea City forward Andre Ayew has been re-named substantive captain of the Black Stars, with Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and Richard Ofori of Maritzburg in the Premier Soccer League in South Africa as first and second deputies respectively.
