Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars have a crunch scores to settle on Monday in their Premier League game at to the Golden City park in Berekum.

The game is the last fixture for match day six and it will be broadcasted live on Star time Adepa channel 247 at 3pm.

Chelsea have not been impressive so far picking only one point on the road against Legon Cities (1-1) and winning only once at the Golden city park against Liberty professionals (1-0), They also came from behind to draw (1-1) with Asante Kotoko at the same venue.

Their top scorer Emmanuel Clottey (2 goals) scored the winner against Liberty professionals and also made the headlines after coming off the bench to snatch the equalizer against Asante Kotoko on match day two.

Aside Clottey they also boast of experienced players like Stephen Amankona, Stephen Sarfo but the duo have yet to lite up the League thus with the former scoring once in the game against Legon Cities, a match day one fixture.

Clottey is expected to lead the Blues once again against Aduana on Monday.

The Blues will aim at making a quick recovery from their 2-0 defeat to WAFA SC last weekend.

They have quality in Edward Kpodo, Richard Kissi Boateng, Jordan Opoku, Augustine Henneh amd Jorge Renchi. Young midfielder Emmanuel Essiam who was part of the WAFU winning Ghana U-20 team is also available for selection.

Aduana Stars goes into this game buoyed by last Wednesday’s 2-0 win against Accra Hearts of Oak in their outstanding League fixture. That result gave them with their first win of the season as Yahaya Mohammed and Prince Acquah scored on the day.

Yahaya Mohammed has yet to get back to his old self but the former Tema Youth man has scored some decisive goals for the Ogya lads in the ongoing season.

His first goal came at Techiman when he played against King Faisal and in a (1-1) drawn game.

Yahaya got injured in that game and missed two crucial weeks with a shoulder injury but quickly stamped his authority on the ground again when he came off the bench to score against Eleven Wonders in a home tie to give Aduana stars a point in a (1-1) stalemate.

He has scored in each game he has played so far this campaign.

Aduana will be dependent on the experienced striker if they are to beat Chelsea.

Defensive duo Justice Anane and Joshua Tijani will not play any part in the game due to injury.

Midfielder Flavien Kongoza looks very doubtful for Monday’s regional derby whiles Noah Martey makes an injury return for the fixture.

Afterwards, WAFA dominated and pressed for at least an equalizer and were unlucky as they hit the cross-bar twice.

WAFA Coach Professor Nartey Ogum kept urging on his men to keep fighting but they were kept at bay by a very stubborn Great Olympics side. The win was their second straight victory in four days following a 1-0 win against giants Asante Kotoko on Thursday.

Medeama SC 0 – Liberty Professionals 0

Medeama SC on Sunday, struggled yet again at home as they were held 0-0 by Liberty Professionals at the Akoon park at Tarkwa.

Both teams were in a good psychological edge, going into the game as Liberty, last week defeated Accra Great Olympics 1-0 with Medeama SC also picking a crucial away win against Ebusua Dwarfs at Cape Coast.

Godfred Atuahene of Liberty Professionals got the game’s brightest chance in the first six minutes but for a late challenge from Medeama defender Ali Ouattara. was tucked in the penalty box.

Medeama Coach Samuel Boadu introduced Godfred Abban, a 20-year-old to play behind Kwadwo Asamoah and Ebenezer Ackahbi but he was highly ineffective as he was later replaced.

In midfield was an interesting battle between Kwesi Donsu and Liberty captain George Amoako.

Amoako was simply amazing as he provided shield for the Liberty backline. Medeama sprayed the ball and created countless goal scoring chances but fluffed all as the game wore on.

Ebenezer Ackhabi was the worse culprit. Others included, Patrick Yeboah, Justice Blay and Ebenezer Ackahbi.

The draw means the Mauve and Yellows are yet to win at home after two draws.

They drew 1-1 with Great Olympics in the season’s opener at home before losing 2-1 at Dreams FC.

Eleven Wonders 1 – AshantiGold SC 1

Samed Ibrahim scored late for AshantiGold to preserve their unbeaten start to the season as they held Eleven Wonders FC to 1-1 stalemate at the Ohene Ameyaw park in Techiman.

Wonders got their noses in front through top marksman Salifu Ibrahim in the 10th minute.

The miners came close to getting the equalizer in the 25th minute but David Abagna missed the chance.

The visitors kept on with their dominance for the rest of the first half but efforts to draw level yielded no result.

They kept pushing for the equaliser but were denied by Eleven Wonders goalkeeper John Moosie.

AshantiGold finally got the leveler in the dying embers of the game as defender Ibrahim scored in the 90th minute.

Elmina Sharks 1 – Inter Allies 0

Benjamin Tweneboah made the difference on Sunday when his solitary strike in the first ended up being the only goal in the game between Elmina Sharks and Inter Allies as Sharks won 1-0 at the Nduom complex.

The defeat condemned Inter Allies to three losses in the spin following earlier defeats to King Faisal, Bechem United as pressure continues to mount on Technical Director/ Head Coach Henrikh Lehm.

Inter Allies dominated proceedings in most parts of the first half but luck eluded as they blew away the all their chances that came their way.

Five minutes from the break, Sharks were awarded a penalty and Tweneboah, scored from 12 yards.

Inter Allies again, took over the game after the goal. But had nothing to show after 90^thminute whistle.

Braye missed a glorious chance in the 50th minute when he shot straight at goalkeeper Lord Bawa.

A great spell of the game was between Lord Bawa Martey, goalkeeper of Elmina Sharks and players of Inter Allies. Bawa was brilliant on the day as he stood between Inter Allies and a goal.

Richmond Lamptey, Paul Abanga and Hashmin Musah all came close. But were aptly cdenied by Bawa Martey as he individually won the game for Elmina Sharks.

A 20th minute sumptuous strike from defender Imoro Ibrahim clinched all the 3 points for Asante Kotoko against Dreams FC at the Dawu Park on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko beat Dreams 1-0 to win their first match following the dismissal of coach Maxwell Konadu. 

The Porcupine Warriors, under the guidance of interim coach Johnson Smith, produced an improved performance to secure the victory at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The win means Kotoko have ended a troubled weak on a high note.

The pre-match discussion had been dominated by Kotoko’s off-field issues. Following the sacking of Konadu, communications manager Moses Antwi-Benefo surprisingly resigned.

They were also reports that other members of the management team were contemplating stepping down.

Despite being fully aware of the issues, the players did not seem affected and made a great start which resulted in Ibrahim Imoro scoring in the 20th minute.

The defender unleashed an accurate shot into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

Kotoko managed to hold onto the lead to record their second win of the season which takes them to the top half of the table.

Kotoko will turn their attention of continental duties as they host Sudanese giants Al Hilal in the Caf Champions League.

Hearts Of Oak secured their second win of the 2020-21 season by beating King Faisal 2-1 at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

 A first half goal from Benjamin Afutu was levelled by Kwadwo Frimpong but a late spot-kick converted by Manaf Umar handed Hearts of Oak all the needed points.
