Head of Technical for the first team, Henrik Peters Lehm has been recalled by Capelli Sport after a successful 1-year stint with the Club.

The hugely respected trainer, who doubled as the Head of Technical for the Capelli Sport Group joined Inter Allies in January as part of an agreement with Capelli Sports to provide technical support to the club.

Lehm with his 41-year coaching experience immediately rejuvenated the side, winning four games and losing once in 7games games of the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Several players saw massive improvement under Henrik Lehm which lead to a successful transfer of 6 players abroad in line with the mission and philosophy of the Club which is to provide a resplendent career path for budding football talents in Ghana and our neighbouring countries.

The Management of Inter Allies together with its Technical Partners, Capelli Sport will in the coming days announce a new head coach for the Club.

Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has returned to first team training for the first time in almost two months after series of surgeries on his foot.

The lanky midfielder has been sidelined for long and is yet to make his debut for ‘Kum Apem’ lads this season after sustaining a fractured metatarsal on his right foot during preseason.

 The 23-year-old has been battling injuries ever since he joined the Porcupine Warriors having previously picked a groin knock against arc rivals Hearts of Oak early this year.

 The good news is that, the diminutive middleman is back at training and was spotted at the Adako-Jachie training grounds early this morning where he engaged in personal training such as warm up, a bit of physical activities before finally grouping with his other teammates for the main session.

His returnn is a huge boost for Kotoko who haven’t been at their best since the commencement of the ongoing season with Mudasiru walking in with the balance the team needs in midfield. 

However, he will not be ready for action anytime soon as the enterprising midfield anchor will need a bit of time to recover fully and gel very well in the team.

There have been high hopes in Asante Kotoko camp as midfielder Richard Senanu returns to training. He has had his career dogged by serious fitness problems.

Senanu has not played for the club since February 2019 after damaging his cruciate knee ligaments in Asante Kotoko’s 2-1 win against Zesco United in Kumasi in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The 26-year-old was expected to make his long-awaited return to competitive football before the start of the current football season after returning to the club’s training in July but suffered a new setback in his rehabilitation in October 7.

However, the defensive midfielder who has long been regarded as one of the most exciting talents to join the Porcupines in recent times joined his teammates in training on Tuesday, December 30, 2020, under the supervision of Coach Johnson Smith and assistant, Abdulai Gazale.

It is a huge step in the recovery process for Richard Senanu who has suffered several setbacks on his way back to the pitch. It has not been reported when we can expect him to play for Kotoko, and it will certainly take him some time to regain optimal physical conditions.

But, the former Phar Rangers midfielder will be registered to be part of Asante Kotoko’s 2020/21 season’s campaign in the next transfer window which is expected to be opened by the Ghana Football Association in February.

Asante Kotoko will resume training after the short break to prepare ahead of their first round CAF Champions League second leg against Al Hilal.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Sudanese giants at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg.

The Ghana Premier League giants will need a miracle to overturn the result in Omdurman in a week’s time.

The technical team of Asante Kotoko gave the playing body a day break to rest on Tuesday December 29 and resume on Wednesday, December 30.

The entire playing body will assemble at the team’s training ground at Adako Jachie to begin training for the CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko are on the brink of elimination and may fall into the CAF Confederation Cup zone should they fail to secure a good result away against the Sudanese giants.

The Ghanaian giants have been inconsistent with their performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko held Medeama SC to a 1-1 draw at the Akoon Park in their last Premier League game on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have also received some financial support from Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo and the  Sports Ministry towards  their CAF Champions League campaign.

The Kumasi-based remains Ghana’s sole representative in the Africa Club competition this season following AshantiGold Sporting Club elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup by Burkinabe side FC Salitas.

19 years after his Elevation to the high office of Sports Minister of Ghana, and his subsequent incarceration into Prison for the loss of 46,000 US Dollars in his travelling bag, Sports Journalist, and General Manager, Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). Responsible for the Social Performance, Local Content and Corporate Affairs functions of GNPC Dr Kwame Baah Nuako has made startling revelations about how the then Sports Minister Mallam Issah audaciously attempted to free Ghanaian prisoners jailed in Sudan.

Mallam Issah who was later jailed for the loss of the Black Stars World Cup qualifiers winning bonus against Sudan in 2001.

Speaking on the issue for the first time in 19 years, Kwame Baah Nuako who was one of the Journalists accompanying the team said the attempt by the Minister at the time was ‘surprising and audacious’.

Dr Baah Nuako said himself and Ackah Anthony were the only journalists with the team, had received a call from the Mallam Issah of his intention to release Ghanaian prisoners in Omdurman, and needed the media to witness the events in the Kober Prisons in North Khartoum.

“The Minister asked us to accompany him to the Kober prisons to get some Ghanaian released, we were a bit surprised by the action of the minister” ‘whose duty at the time was to ensure the Black Stars won and qualified for the 2002 FIFA world cup in Japan/Korea’.

Dr Baah Nuako, who was the guest host of the Ultimate Sports Show on Asempa FM, expressed that by the actions of the Minister at the time, he formed the opinion he [Mallam Issah] was not going to last at the Sports Ministry.

“At the time, the Sudanese government had done their Ministerial reshuffle when Ghana traveled to play their National team, with a new Interior minister, so officers were sent to inform him of the arrival of the Ghanaian sports Minister”

“The Sudanese minister drove for more than 30km to the prison yard to meet Mallam Issah, and to address his concerns, after several minutes of deliberations, the Sudanese authorities concluded that they can only release the ‘prisoners’ on condition that they are deported back to Ghana, but to our surprise, they [‘Prisoners’] refused to be deported, and rather opted to serve their sentences”, Dr Baah Nuako Recounted.

Mallam Issah was appointed Ministerof Youth and Sports in 2001 after President John Kufour opted to have an all inclusion Government with the PNC Member of Parliament.

But his stint with the Ministry was shortlived when his briefcase containing the $46,000 winning bonus of the team got missing.
Mallam Issah was subsequently jailed by an Accra High court for stealing.
