Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s squad is enjoying an impressive run of form, notching up five wins and a draw in their last seven league outings.

In the encounter with Bofoakwa Tano, Mukwala showcased his goal-scoring prowess by capitalizing on a defensive lapse in the 21st minute, opening the scoring for Asante Kotoko.

The Ugandan international extended the lead in the 80th minute, securing a comfortable victory.

Bofoakwa Tano, on the other hand, continues to struggle, failing to secure a win in their last six games.

The defeat places them in the 14th position on the league table, with 17 points after the conclusion of the week 17 fixture.

Asante Kotoko now sits in the second position with 29 points, trailing leaders Samartex by just three points.

Owusu added his fourth to restore Gold Stars’ three-goal advantage. Boateng scored again for the Royals to half the deficit at the death of the game but it was too late to prevent their first defeat in five games.

The win is crucial for the Miners who move to 11th position on 18 points with a game in hand as they steer to relative safety. It is also back-to-back wins at home for the Miners.

Paa Kwesi Fabin and his charges will be disappointed they failed to make it five wins on the spin to close out December on a perfect run. They are in 8th position with 24 points.

Medeama have announced the appointment of Nebojsa Kapor as our new Head Coach.

Kapor, 37, has signed a one-year deal with a two-year option for renewal.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina young tactician takes over from evergreen Evans Augustine Adotey, who is returning to his role as a technical director.

The Bosnian is not new on the Ghanaian domestic front having worked with Tema Youth and Bechem United.

The club believes his ethos, tactical approach and commitment to development made him the ideal candidate for the job.

“I am very happy to be here and also contribute to the success drive of the champions. This is an ambitious club and I’m happy with everything going on here in Tarkwa,” Kapor told medeamasc.org

“We are determined to continue from where Mr. Adotey has steered this club beautifully. He’s done a great job and deserves a pat on the shoulder.

“But it’s time for another hand to continue from where he left of in our pursuit to achieve excellence. I have a fair idea of the kind of talents at the club and we hope to do our best to make it count.

“We can and we’ll challenge for trophies this season. We have few games to cover up to the numbers of the teams on top of the table and so we’ll see how it goes.

“Like I said, its a collective job and we’ll hope to set this club up for laurels.”

Nebojsa Kapor is hugely credited for his high-energy and eye-catching style, and also regarded as a talent spotter with quality of helping young players realise their full potential within a strong squad ethos.

He will take full charge of the team once his documentation is finalised and approved by the Ghana Football Association.

Born in Serbia, Nebojsa Kapor holds a UEFA badge from Croatia Football Federation.

He previously worked as a technical director for Football Schools and Camp Leotar Trebinje Premier League- Bosnia, and also as the head coach of the University Football team – Normal University, Hefei.

He worked as a head coach of Tema Youth in 2021 and also had an unofficial stint with Ghana Premier League side Bechem United.
