Division Two Middle League: Okwaku United vs Kwaebibirem United FC to be replayed

The Eastern Region Division Two match middle league match between Okwaku United and Kwaebibirem United FC will be replayed at a neutral venue, the Ghana FA has ruled in a latest appeal decision. 

The decision to award the points to Kwaebibirem United FC has been quashed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

Okwahu United were declared losers by the judicial body in the Eastern region but that has been overturned by the higher appellate body.

“That the Division Two Middle League match between Kwaebibirem United FC and Okwahu United shall be declared null and void,” part of a ruling from the Disciplinary Committee read

“That the match shall be replayed on a date and at a venue to be determined by the ERFA with adequate security presence.

“That though the Appeals Committee has ruled that the match should be replayed, anyone who misconducted themselves at the said match shall be charged by the ERFA prosecutor.

Fans rushed onto the pitch after referee Emmanuel Kofi Agudavi awarded a controversial penalty to Kwaebibirem- which sparked anger and chaos in Dawu.

The match will now be replayed with the winner squaring off with Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club for a sole slot to zone 3.

GFA License D Coaching course: Greater Accra’s third batch commence training on Sunday

The Third batch of trainees for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) License D Coaching course from the Greater Accra Region will commence their training at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence on Sunday, October 3, 2021 with 40 participants.

Applicants who applied through the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) are to take note and report to the GFA Technical Center on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

Enclosed is a list of all 40 participants scheduled for the training:

Uganda striker Steven Mukwala confirms Kotoko move

Steven Mukwala, the deadly striker, has confirmed his move to one of the giant clubs in Ghana, Kumasi Asante Kotoko soon.

Uganda international said he is in advance talks with Asante Kotoko, over a possible switch from Uganda River Authority FC in the ongoing transfer window.

The 22-year old has agreed personal terms with the Porcupine Warriors over a 3- year deal subject to medical exams.

According to the striker,He will be happy to join Asante Kotoko for pre-season as his permanent club, ”My Current club is about to done negotiation with Asante Kotoko he insisted at kumasi based station Oyerepa fm.

“It’s almost a done deal, it has left with club negotiation to give me full permission to join Asante Kotoko” soon.

In 2019 Mukwala was loaned to Maroon FC for the new season, where he scored 13 goals out of 22 games to win the Uganda Premier League golden boot award.

He ended 2020/21 Uganda Premier League as top goalscorer of his club, after he netted 14 goals in 24 matches.

Steven Mukwala will be the third Ugandan player joining Asante Kotoko after Joseph Ochaya and George Abege

He is currently a player of the Uganda senior national team invited for the World cup qualifiers against Rwanda this month.

Steven Mukwala will join players like Richard Boadu Agadas,Fabio Gama,Samuel Boateng etc.

Asante Kotoko to travel to Dubai for pre-season tour

Asante Kotoko are finalizing a tour to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates as part of their 2021/22 pre-season preparations.

New coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s squad – who are in the second week of preparations for the upcoming campaign – are due to fly out to Dubai for a not-more-than a two-week training camp, sources indicate.

The Porcupine Warriors, per plans of the club’s management, would end their stay with a couple of friendlies with local clubs in the Asian country.

Our sources further indicate that the Kotoko management is looking to wrap up all transfer deals before time in order for coach Narteh Ogum to have the full complement of his registered squad for the tour.

So far Kotoko have acquired 8 new signings – Richmond Lamptey, Richard Boadu, Samuel Appiah, Clinton Opoku, Augustine Agyapong, Samuel Boateng, Isaac Oppong and Maxwell Kofi Agyemang – and are looking at a couple more before the transfer window shuts October 9.

A deal for Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala is all but finalized with the player expected to link up with the team in Dubai after the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with the national team.

Should the trip materialize, Kotoko intend to return home at least about a week to the commencement of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko are scheduled to kick-start their GPL campaign with an away fixture at Dreams FC on Sunday,  October 31.

And the Daily Echo understands Brooks will be part of the travelling party following his exploits with Wales this summer.

Medeama Sc confirm Eric Ofori Antwi to Legon Cities

Medeama Sc have reached an agreement with Legon Cities for the transfer of Goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.

Ofori Antwi, 26, nicknamed Alawa spent five years in Tarkwa based team where he became well-known as the club number one.

The club has reached an agreement with the Royals for the transfer of the experienced shot-stopper as he close his door for Medeama Sc now.

The former Ghana U20 and Black stars B goalkeeper distinguished himself during his time at the club.

Eric Ofori Antwi became the vice-captain of the club, deputizing for Joseph Tetteh Zutah as main captain.

Doudu Clinton of Bechem United is close to join former Liverpool Skipper Steven Gerrard’s Academy in United Kingdom in two weeks.

The 16-year old winger announced his presence into the Ghana Premier League, for Bechem United last season with superb performance.

He was awarded Man of the match with classic displayed for Bechem United game against Elmina Sharks in the second round.

Doudu Clinton has secured international recogniton which comes with educational opportunity, to further his education and at the same time football career.

Bankroller of Bechem United, Kingsley Owusu Achua has revealed on Asempa fm sports show that,the winger will join the United Kingdom Academy in coming weeks.

We have planned a proper educational system for him in the UK because he is young player,so he cannot neglect education and focus on football alone.

”Doudu Clinton will join the Steven Gerrard Academy where he will combines studies and football same time”.

Caf fines Hearts Of Oak

The Phobians risk playing their remaining home games in the Caf Champions League outside Accra Sports Stadium due to the terrible nature of the pitch

Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined Ghana’s sole representative in Champions League, Hearts of Oak, due to the poor nature of the Accra Sports Stadium during their game against Guinean side CI Kamsar.

According to Caf, the standard of the pitch was below the expectations which made it difficult for both Hearts and Kamsar to exhibit good football in the preliminary round fixture.

With Hearts now preparing to host Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club on October 22 at the same venue, Caf has warned Hearts to improve the quality of the pitch or the game will be move out of Accra.

If Hearts are unable to meet the requirements of Caf, it is likely the game will be moved to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium since that was the alternative home ground the Phobians chose before the start of the competition.

Three Hearts of Oak players – Caleb Amankwah, Robert Addo Sowah and Raddy Ovouka- who had personal issues to settle sought for permission and we’re granted five(5) days off from training but the three defenders returned on Thursday morning for training.

The trio started the game against Guinean side CI Kamsar in the preliminary round of the Champions League and their return has been a good news to coach Samuel Boadu.

Meanwhile, midfielder Gladson Awako will likely miss the first leg of the clash against Wydad Athletic Club. The 30-year-old is expected to begin training next week after he was spotted doing personal training at home last week.

Hearts of Oak last reached the group stage of the competition in 2000 where they became the eventual winners that season.

Kotoko defender Samuel Frimpong heading to King Faisal

Asante Kotoko right-back Samuel Frimpong is set to join Ghana Premier League side, King Faisal, according to our sources.

Frimpong, 24, enjoyed limited time at Kotoko due to the presence of Christopher Nettey.

Frimpong signed a two-year contract extension with the Reds a few months ago but failed to beat off the competition from Christopher Nettey at the right-back position last season.

New coach of the club, Dr. Proper Narteh Ogum has decided to send Frimpong on loan to get enough playing time and continue to build himself following the arrival of Medeama defender Samuel Appiah.

According to the report, Frimpong met the hierarchy of King Faisal on Thursday to complete his loan move

Samuel Frimpong joined Kotoko from division one side Bekwai Youth Academy before the club loaned him out to Karela United during the truncated premier league season.

Frimpong featured 19 times for Kotoko in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, started 13 games while coming off the bench of 6on different occasions.

Berekum Chelsea captain Stephen Amankona(21) is said to have rejected an offer from AshantiGold to join Asante Kotoko.

The player currently priced $35,000 had been on new Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Dr.Prosper Ogum’s plans ahead of the new season.

Ashanti Gold have showed much interest in Stephen Amankona’s service since last season but the player had rejected Ashanti Gold offer ans willing to join Asante Kotoko.

Ivorian goalkeeper Boris Junior Mandjui joins Medeama

Ghanaian side Medeama SC have acquired the services of Ivorian goalkeeper, Boris Junior Mandjui in the ongoing transfer window.

The former ASEC Mimosas sealed his move to the Yellow and Mauves on Thursday afternoon, signing a three-year deal.

Junior Mandjui comes in as a replacement for departing Eric Ofori Antwi who has began training with Legon Cities and Frank Boateng who was sacked by the club after his ‘school boy’ mistake against Hearts in last season’s FA Cup.

The club have already signed former Eleven Wonders goalkeeper John Moosie.

Junior Mandjui has previously played for Burkina Faso side Salitas, Ivorian Club Williamsville AC and most recently Association Sportive de L’Indénié in Abidjan.
