Franck Mbella Etouga scored his 21st goal of the season as champions Asante Kotoko beat Great Olympics by a lone goal.

The Cameroonian scored with a powerful low drive to settle the contest in favour of the Porcupine Warriors a the Accra Sports Stadium.

The loss extends the Olympics’ winless streak to four games, leaving them with a slim chance of achieving their top-four target.

It wasn’t an easy win for Kotoko, who had to battle a determined Olympic team in Accra’s rainy conditions.

The hosts were superior in the first 45 minutes, and it took a brilliant performance from Kotoko goalkeeper Kwame Baah to prevent Olympics from scoring.

Baah made excellent saves to deny Varney Sando and Ibrahim Sulley before saving a well-struck free-kick from Raymond Grippman.

After the break, Kotoko took the lead thanks to a spectacular strike from Etouga in the 69th minute.
Olympics gave it their all, but it clearly wasn’t enough to earn a point, as Kotoko took three.

Kotoko a 10 point at the summit and will be crowned champions next week in their last home game of the season against Elmina Sharks.

Meanwhile, Olympics must win their remaining two games and hope that those above them drop points to stand a chance of finishing in the top four.

The Phobians will square off against the Kumasi-based club at the Baba Yara Stadium a GPL matchday 32 fixture.

Striker Kofi Kordzi makes a return to the team after serving his two-week suspension. William Opoku who was bought before the start of the season could be given his first start since his arrival.

Accra Lions defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-0 at home in matchweek 32 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The hosts put up a spectacular show against the former Premier League winners, scoring in both halves.

In the 29th minute, Adomako Boateng scored his first-ever league goal for Accra Lions with a powerful header from a cross given by Isifu Isaka.

The match appeared equal in the second half, with both sides having early attempts to hit the back of the net but unable to capitalize on them.

Accra Lions defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-0 at home thanks to a magnificent goal from Hagan Frimpong in the 75th minute.

Accra Lions will travel to Tarkwa to play Medeama, while Berekum Chelsea will visit Dreams FC in matchweek 33.

Accra Lions is currently 10th on the league table with 44 points while Berekum Chelsea is 5th with 46 points.
