Tanzanian side Namungo FC sign Bechem United defender Emmanuel Asante

Tanzania side Namungo FC have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Asante from Bechem United

The 27-year-old has penned down a two-year deal after a successful medical.

The deal is reportedly worth $50,000.

Last season, the enterprising left-back contributed to the Hunters’ impressive performance by their standards.

He assisted Bechem in finishing second in the Ghana Premier League and reaching the MTN FA Cup final, which they lost to record winners Hearts of Oak.

Asante joined Bechem United in 2020 from Great Olympics. He had previously represented Asante Kotoko and DC Motema Pembe of DR Congo.

Asante becomes the second player this window to move to Tanzania from Bechem United after Augustine Okrah joined Simba last month.

CHAN Q: Nigeria include BANNED ex-Inter Allies duo in their squad to play Black Galaxies

Two former players of Inter Allies Football Club have been called up to the Nigerian Team set to play the Black Galaxies in the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) final qualifier.

Isa Ali and Andy Okpe, of Nigerian Premier League outfit Remo Stars FC, have made it to the 35 man squad named by Head Coach Salisu Yusuf.

The matchup between the West African powerhouses takes place on August 28 in Accra with the return leg scheduled to take place on September 3 in Abuja.

Okpe and Ali played for Inter Allies in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League Season, with Okpe in particular making a name for himself, scoring against a famous goal against Asante Kotoko in the aforementioned season.

The upcoming two legged tie determines the country that qualifies to compete in the 2023 CHAN Tournament in Algeria.

Ghana has failed to qualify for the past three editions of the competition and will be hoping to go past the obstacle in Nigeria to book a spot at the competition in Algeria.

Hearts of Oak new signing Yassan Ouatching reveals how the Phobians can excel next season

Hearts of Oak’s new signing, Yassan Ouatching says he has no doubt the club will be successful next season.

As reported by your most trusted Ghanaian football online portal, the Phobians have completed the signing of the attacker on a two-year deal.

“Yassan Ouatching is a Phobian. He will be with us till 2024. The Cameroonian-born Central African Republic player has finally put pen to paper and has agreed on a 2-year deal with the club,” an official club statement from Hearts of Oak said on Monday, August 8.

According to the striker from the Central Africa Republic, the team must stay focused and listen to the instructions of the coach.

He believes that once that is done, the team will have a good chance of winning trophies next season.

“We only have to prepare very well. I believe in this squad and I know if we continue to listen to the coaches and take our games one after the other we will make this team proud in every competition. That should be our mentality going into the new season,” Yassan Ouatching stressed.

Enchil joined Medeama from lower division side Joel Bouzou Rangers, based in Aburi, where he has shone.

Hearts of Oak will face either AS Douanes of Burkina Faso or AS Bomako of Mali in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup following Tuesday’s draw in Cairo, Egypt.

The Phobians will begin their African campaign from the second preliminary round after being exempted from the first round.

Douanes will tackle Bamako in a two-leg affair in September before the winner takes on the Ghanaian giants in the next stage.

The second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup is slated for October 2022.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak rivals Asante Kotoko have been paired in the first round of the preliminary against Burkina Faso champions Rail Club du Kadiogo.

WAFA academy set to be closed down

Management of WAFA have decided to close down the academy which has given young Ghanaian footballers hope in life due to GFA’s refusal to admit them in Zone 3 in Division One, a close source has told AngelSports.

WAFA, formerly known as Feyenoord Soccer Academy in Gomoa Fetteh was playing in Zone 2 before the new owners took over and change the name and location to Sogakokpe in the Volta Region.

WAFA got relegated last season from the GPL and GFA has informed them to revert to their previous Zone for their Division one league games.

The management has wrote to the FA to change their Zone from 2 to 3 but the FA still insist they go back to Zone 2.

Hence the management has taken decision to close down the facility and opt out from the Division One league if GFA decision is maintained.

Asante Kotoko drawn against Rail Club de Kadiogo in CAF Champions League prelims

Asante Kotoko will take on Burkina Faso side Rail Club de Kadiogo in the first round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.

The Porcupines are representing Ghana in the competition after emerging champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Kotoko travel to Burkina Faso for the first leg of the qualifier before they play at home in the second leg in Kumasi.

The first leg is scheduled to take place on the weekend of September 9-11, 2022, whereas the second leg comes off on the weekend of September 16-18, 2022.

The winner of the two-legged match will face the winner of Botswana side Gaborone United Sporting Club or AS Vita Club of DR Congo in the next round.

Kadiogo are the current holders of the Burkinabe Premier League and have won it four times in all.

Three former Kotoko players complete License D Coaching Course

Former Asante Kotoko players Eric Donkor, Michael Akuffo and Amos Frimpong are the latest players to have completed their License D Coaching Course.

They were part of the group that took their lessons at the Obuasi Len clay stadium in the Ashanti Region.

They join Bekoe, Joe Tagoe, Sammy Adjei, Don Bortey and many other former players who had taken part in the exercise.

Topics included growth and development of young footballers, methods of coaching and cardiovascular resuscitation/administration of first aid.

They were also taking through a series of practical sessions.

The sessions was led by astute Ghana Football Association Coaching Instructors and Coach Educators including the Technical Director, Bernhard Lippert and Director of Coaching Education, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah.

30-year-old Donkor is without a club after parting ways with King Faisal, same as Akuffo while Frimpong has a contract with Guinean club Club Industriel de Kamsar.

Thomas Partey told to stay away from Black Stars captaincy

Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey has been cautioned to stay away as the deputy captain for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

The 28-year-old is currently deputizing Andre Ayew, who is the captain of the side.

But according to the Leader of the Prophetic Life Embassy, Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei, says Partey risks facing spiritual attacks if he takes the Black Stars captaincy.

The Prophet however added that the former Athletico Madrid midfielder must be prayerful if he’s ever to assume the captaincy of the national team.

He noted that despite everything, Partey will emerge as one of the best players in the world by the end of the year.

“I saw vividly in a vision serious spiritual battle against Thomas Teye Partey, there are 3 things God wants him to know,” Prophet Telvin wrote on Facebook.

“Be well prepared spiritually before you touch the national team captain band or avoid it entirely. Let’s pray for him there is a satanic plan to reduce him to nothing.

“God showed me a Vision of you back home in GHANA in your hometown playing soccer with your childhood friends and sharing what you have with them and immediately as that was done I saw a white paper being canceled and the Lord said, he is free from all issues raised against him.”

He added: “From now to December things are about to get tough from all angles (red card) World Cup issues and many other things I won’t disclose.

“But he should hold tight because he will break through all this ending of December and from January He will be in the world ranking as one of the best in football. And he will rise and never fall.”

Meanwhile, Partey has made a great start to the season after helping Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 on the opening day of the Premier League season.

He is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Hearts’ new signing Yassan Ouatching: I’m not after personal glory

Hearts Of Oak’s new signing Yassan Ouatching believes he can only succeed if he plays his heart out for the Phobians and shirks the idea of running after individual credit.

The Cameroonian-born Central African Republic player has finally put pen to paper and has agreed on a 2-year deal with the
club. 

Yassan in a conversation with the club’s official website expressed his joy and indicated that he is ready for the GPL and any other competition that comes up.

The former player of Mohammedan
FC is delighted to have joined Hearts of Oak.


He has been touted as the player who really doesn’t seek glory for himself but a team player who provides assists for eventual goal scorers.

His principle is that teamwork first before individual glory.

He will partner the likes of strong and intelligent Obeng Junior, sensational Barnieh and smart and energetic Kaaba. He is very optimistic about the upcoming season.

He has been training with the team for some time now awaiting the opportunity to make his debut for his new team.

“I have been training with the team for some time and I can say when given the opportunity I will put in my best. Getting started alone is a huge motivation for me. I am here to work and I will do my very best to let my work do all the talking on the pitch, ” he told the club’s website.

He is very much hopeful that Hearts’ performance in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup will be different.
