OFFICIAL: Asante Kotoko announce the signing of Cameroonian goalkeeper Moise Pouaty
Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of one-time Indomitable Lions of Cameroon custodian Pouaty Dendoum Moise D’assise on a free transfer.
The Porcupines have been in the market searching for a replacement for Razak Abalora who left to join Sheriff Tiraspol in the second round of last season.
However, the Reds have gotten a perfect replacement for Abalora in the shape of Cameroonian goalkeeper Moise Pouaty after successful talks. He has joined the Reds on a two-year deal.
The 26-year-old former Union Sportive of Douala shot stopper was classed amongst best upcoming goalkeepers in the Central African nation less than four years ago earning a call-up to the Cameroon national team and eventually to Switchbacks FC in the US.
Unfortunately the career of the native of Mbanga didn’t go as planned while in the US, prompting a termination of contract and eventual return home to join AS Fortuna. He played 43 games, conceded 63 and kept 11 clean sheets in two seasons for Switcbacks in the USA.
The Porcupines have already extended Danlad Ibrahim’s contract.
Kotoko and Hearts to kick off their 2022/23 Africa campaign in Cape Coast
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have pre-approved the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as the venue for the Asante Kotoko and Hearts Of Oak for the 2022/23 CAF inter-club competitions.
Kotoko and Hearts will represent Ghana in the 2022/23 Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
According to sources, Kotoko’s Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Hearts’ Accra Sports Stadium were not considered as both are not fit to host Caf competitions.
However, both clubs have the chance to follow a process or some systematic measures to get their respective stadiums approved by Caf.
Asante Kotoko lock horns with RC Kadiogo of Burkina Faso in the first round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League preliminary stage while Hearts of Oak will face either AS Douanes (Burkina Faso) or ASR Bamako (Mali) in the second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup.

CAS lifts GFA ban on 21 players allegedly involved in Ashgold/Inter Allies match-fixing scandal
The Court Of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) has temporarily lifted the GFA ban placed on 21 players involved in the Ashgold vs Inter Allies match-fixing scandal with immediate effect.
The adjudicating body has granted all the 21 players a stay of execution and are free to continue their footballing career in the coming season before the case is heard.
The players can now go through all the registration processes for the 2022/23 football season.
This was after an appeal was filed on the players behalf by FIFPRO through the PFAG.
The players include Frank Akoto, Eric Esso, Amos Kofi Nkrumah, Empem Dacosta, Paul Devries Asare, Amos Addai, Stephen Owusu Banahene etc who were all banned for 24 months.
Meanwhile, Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey whose name was not in the appeal process is having his matter considered by CAS following Kotoko’s application

Dejected Kofi Kordzi swears heaven and earth NEVER to return to Hearts of Oak again
Former Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi has vowed not to play for his former side again even if he is offered hefty sums of money. He admitted that what happened between him and his former club is part of football but he is unwilling to make a return.
“Football is played with the heart but before God and man even if Hearts of Oak give me billions of dollars I can’t be able to play for them again.” – Kofi Kordzi told Angel Sports.
Accra Hearts of Oak few weeks ago released some players which included the bulky striker.
Following that announce, varied reports have emerged as to why the rainbow club parted ways with Kofi Kordzi.
While playing for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kofi Kordzi was punished for misconduct. The player was found to be playing inter community gals on same day his club was playing FA Cup game.
The player later rendered apology but the club decided to part company with him at the end of the season. Accra Hearts of Oak are jostling in the transfer market to replace the departed players.
Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of forward Junior Kaaba, goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi and defender Zakari Yakubu.
Sacked Hearts of Oak players make wild allegations against club officials, demand for their released letters
Released Hearts of Oak players, Frederick Ansah Botchway and Kofi Kordzi have expressed their displeasure over the treatment they are receiving from the club.
A fortnight ago, Hearts of Oak announced that they’ve officially informed Frederick Ansah Botchway and Kofi Kordzi that they are surplus to requirement and both parties are in the process to mutually terminating their contracts.
Speaking for the first time since the announcement, Botchway has taken to Facebook while Kordzi in an interview on Angel FM/TV expressed their displeasure over the treatment they have received and continue to receive from the club.
According to the players, a lot of lies and negative propaganda were mounted against them throughout their stay with the club before their release.
The duo added that, despite the club announcing weeks ago that their services are no longer needed, they are yet to receive their release or termination letter. A situation which leaves them frustrated as the transfer window .
Below is the full statement;
Dear All
I have served Hearts of Oak with all my heart and in sincerity. Everyone at the club especially the fans became a family. Lot of lies and negative propaganda were mounted against me but I decided to remain silent for the respect and love I have for this club but it saddens my heart and soul today, that I have had to do this. Despite being declared surplus to requirement by the club without any official letter to me and my management, I thought it was time for me to move on with my career despite the pains in my heart for the manner in which this was communicated (via social media).
Tried as I have done, the club that has declared me surplus to requirements has still refused to hand over my release letter to me to pursue other opportunities. Neither has the club terminated my agreement after weeks of this publication.
I have never spoken ill about the club on any media but I feel very helpless and sad at this moment.
Currently, I’m not training with Hearts of Oak because I’m officially not part of the team, yet I have not been given my freedom to choose a club of my choice. Today hasn’t been a good day, as I virtually spent hours at the club begging for my release letter but I was told to go home and wait until the club is ready to invite me for my release.
Meanwhile, football will not wait. Opportunities will not wait and my career cannot wait.
Why am I writing this?
I need to let everyone at Hearts of Oak know that the club is still in my heart after what they have done for me and I’d want our ties to be severed on very professional grounds.
The transfer window is opened and I have decided to search for new opportunities to showcase my talent as well as take care of my family.
If I’m surplus to requirement at Hearts, I expect that communication to come with a release and termination letter.
Sincerely and respectfully I do not need to beg to be left to find new opportunities.

OFFICIAL: CAF Launch African Super League with 24 teams
CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe has Launched Africa Super League during the African Football Governing body general Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania.
Motsepe has promised sponsorship and revenue returns unheard of for African football, where the annual Champions League winner earns $2.5m in prize money.
He has claimed, at several previous news conferences, that the Super League will allow clubs to pay top talent wages to match those in Europe and therefore allow African teams to keep their best players.
The Super League, which is likely to be named the African Football League to disassociate it with the negative connotations of last year’s failed European Super League plans, will have 24 teams and start in August next year.
It is not clear whether CAF has finalised the list of clubs, but they will come from 16 different nations with a maximum of three per country.
They will play a group competition first, divided into three groups of eight clubs, before the majority of clubs move onto an American-style playoff system, including wildcard berths.
CAF plans to continue with its club showpiece Champions League but officials said there were plans to revert back to a two-legged knockout competition, dispensing with the group phase.
The first 24 clubs that will participate are set to receive an annual contribution of $2-5-million dollars for being part of the ASL to use for expenses, including transport and player transfers.
“Our intention is to use $100-million as prize money and to do that every year in the African Super League, so the club that wins gets $11.5-million ,” he added.
The Tournament will kick off in August 2023 with 24 high-ranked teams in Africa participating.
Transfer News: Asante Kotoko sign King Faisal forward Enoch Morrison
Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of King Faisal forward Enoch Morrison, according to Myfabulousonline.com.
The 22-year-old had been a target for the Ghana League Champions who are aiming to make some additions to their squad ahead of the new football season.
Morrison enjoyed a successful season with the Insha Allah lads in the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League campaign, helping the club to escape relegation.
The nimble-footed winger made 31 appearances in the Premier League, netting seven (7) goals and registered four (4) assists.
The left-winger has passed his medical and has penned a three-year deal with the Reds.
FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Coach Ben Forkuo names Ghana’s squad list for Costa Rica 2022
Black Princesses’ Coach Ben Fokuo has settled on 21 players for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 which kicks off on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
Ghana are in a record sixth straight World Cup appearance having previously played in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. The Black Princesses will open their campaign against the United States of America on Thursday, August 11, 2022 before taking on Japan and the Netherlands in the other Group D matches.

Ghana FA to release 2022/23 Premier League fixtures on Thursday
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the fixtures for 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League will go public on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
The fixtures was initially scheduled to be released on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. However, it was delayed due to the three way club play off which involved Ebusua Dwarfs, Tamale City and Liberty Professionals to determine the replacement of demoted AshantiGold.
Tamale City won the playoff and will be joined by Nsoatreman, Samartex 1996 and Kotoku Royals as the new sides in the league.
The other sides to compete in the league are Champions Asante Kotoko, giants Accra Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, Dreams FC, Legon Cities, Accra Lions, Berekum Chelsea, Bechem United, Karela United, King Faisal, Real Tamale United, Aduana FC, Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama SC.
The Premier League this year will be sponsored by one of Ghana’s leading online sports betting companies, betPawa. betPawa will be the league’s headline sponsor for the next three years.
The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League is scheduled to be launched on 2nd September 2022, with the league kicking off on the weekend of 9th to the 12th September 2022.
