Ibrahim Sadiq scored a brace to propel Bk Häcken to a 3-1 victory against Aberdeen and a place in the group stages of the Europa League.


The Ghanaian, who was a scorer and a provider in the 2-2 draw in the first leg opened the scoring in 14th minute, hitting a powerful shot from the edge of the box.

Sadiq extended Häcken’s lead in the 41st minute, finishing off a through ball from Mikkel Rygaard Jensen.

In the 56th minute, Aberdeen pulled a goal back from the spot-kick to give themselves hope of a comeback, but those who hopes were dashed in the 81st minute when Amor Layouni scored from a similar situation to extend Häcken’s lead to 3-1.

The 3-1 win earns Häcken a 5-3 aggregate win and a place in the group stages of the Europa League, the first in the team’s history.

For Ibrahim Sadiq, the brace increased his goal contribution this season for Häcken to 20 goals and 2 assists in 24 appearances. Per reports, the 23-year old will officially join AZ Alkmaar in the coming days.

“I have been dreaming of this day,” says Baba Yahaya after Kotoko unveiling

Newly-signed Asante Kotoko midfielder, Baba Yahaya has expressed his excitement after completing a move to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

The 21-year-old will be a part of the Porcupine family until 2026 after penning a three-year deal following a mandatory medical test.

Baba becomes Kotoko’s third midfield reinforcement, following the signings of Andrews Ntim and Bernard Somuah.

Comfortable on playing from either of the flanks as well as operating as a number 10, he scored five goals, making five assists and won the man of the match awards on five occasions during last season’s campaign with city rivals, King Faisal FC.

The midfielder, who is no stranger to the Baba Yara Stadium, said during his unveiling that he is excited to finally make this move.

“I feel honoured to finally be here. I have been dreaming of this day, ” he told the Kotoko media.

“I believe that sometimes, in life, the voice of the people is the voice of God. I thank whoever was involved in making this happen. 

“I am more than ready to put on the shirt and get started.

“I understand the responsibilities that come with this, and I am ready to face it with hard work.”

Asante Kotoko officially announce Baba Yahaya signing

Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of former King Faisal midfielder, Baba Yahaya on a free transfer, the club has confirmed.

The Porcupines have had a busy market and they have now completed the signing of the attacking midfielder in a three-year deal.

Baba Yahaya had an impressive season at King Faisal, which put him on the wish list of new Kotoko manager Prosper Ogum Narteh who looks to improve the creativity options in his squad.

The club has already announced the signing of some players including Yahaya Dawuni, Nanabayin Amoah, Andrews Ntim Manu, Samuel Asamoah, Yussif Nurudeen Mohammed, Bernard Somuah, Henry Ansu and Kalo Quattara.

The transfer window nears its closure on Friday, September 8, 2023, and the club hopes to get former WAFA star Michael Kyei Dwamena as well.

“Leicester City is the best place for me to develop” – Ghana’s Fatawu Issahaku

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has described his move to Leicester City as the best place for him.

The 20-year-old has joined the English Championship side on a long-season loan deal from Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Speaking after completing his move to the Foxes, Issahaku expressed his delight and added that it is the best place for him to continue his development.

“I’m so happy. This is an amazing moment for me, I’m happy to be here. For me, from looking at Leicester and how I felt about the coach, here is the best place for me,” he told the club website.

“This was the best moment for me to join Leicester. I chose them because I think they can grow me and help me mature. [Enzo Maresca] told me about the plans he has for me and how he wants me to play – how he wants to help me in my football,” he added.

Issahaku joins the Foxes and is subject to league and international clearance.

The 19-year-old arrives at the King Power Stadium having been left out of the Sporting’s first-team plans this season.

He was part of the Black Stars squad that took part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Issahaku was also with the Black Meteors in Morocco for the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has become the eighth addition to Leicester City’s roster this summer, arriving from Sporting Lisbon.

The highly-regarded 19-year-old has officially signed a contract for a season-long loan from the Portuguese club. Additionally, City reportedly holds the option to make the move permanent in the following summer.

Abdul Fatawu’s arrival marks the eighth signing orchestrated by Enzo Maresca during the current summer transfer window. He joins the ranks alongside Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle, Mads Hermansen, Stephy Mavididi, Cesare Casadei, and Yunus Akgun.
