Administrative Manager of Dreams FC, Ameenu Shardow has indicated that the Ghana Football Association President Kurt ES Okraku is not bothered by the impending case at FIFA’s Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Tema Youth owner Wilfred Kwaku Osei Palmer proceeded to the CAS after he was denied the opportunity to contest in the 2019 Ghana Football Association Presidential Election by the then Normalization Committee.

The ruling of the case is expected on Friday afternoon by the Switzerland-based court.

According to media reports in the West African country, the Ghana FA Chief is apprehensive about the ruling with fears of a possible election after the ruling his major bane.

But Shardow who was part of Okraku’s campaign team has disclosed that the former MTN FA Cup chairman is unfazed by the impending CAS ruling.

“The President of the Ghana Football Association hasn’t shown any indication that he is bothered by this CAS issue,” Ameenu Shardow told Accra-based Asempa FM.

He added: “President Kurt Okraku is very focused on delivering because he was validly elected by congress.”

Portia Obeng Asare – the wife of the late Asante Kotoko Deputy Equipment Officer Thomas Obeng Asare – has passionately appealed to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to enroll her children on Manhyia’s Educational Fund to ease the financial burden on her.

She declared the family broke, having been neglected by Asante Kotoko after the untimely demise of the husband.

Thomas Obeng Asare passed on, on July 12, 2017 when he was returning home with the Porcupine Warriors after a Ghana Premier League game with Inter Allies.

According to Obeng Asare’s wife, the hierarchy of the Reds have neglected her and the children he left behind after the husband’s funeral ceremony.

“Our living after the demise of my husband has not been easy,it has been by the grace of God and the benevolence of some people,” she told Kumasi FM.

“I have been neglected by Asante Kotoko and my in-laws who believe I have squandered the little I was given after the funeral. The only person who has been of help to me is Mr Osei Asibbey,he has been in constant touch with me and has supported me till now.He has taken it upon himself to cater for the kids till they complete JHS.

She called on the newly-constituted twelve-member board of directors to come to her aid.

She continued: “I would like to plead with the new board to help further the education of the kids to tertiary. The eldest of them has completed JHS but is unable to further his education because of money,the second born will complete JHS this year.

“I’m humbly appealing to Otumfour to at least enroll my son on his educational fund to cater for his tertiary education,” she pleaded.

Since the incident, the players and Technical Staff have angrily expressed their disagreements following the club’s inability to pay them compensation.

Former Asante Kotoko player Ashitey Ollenu has taken a swipe at the club for the blatant neglect of the plight of the victims of their three year old unfortunate accident.

The Porcupine Warriors were involved in a gory accident on July 12, 2017 when the team was returning to Kumasi after a 1-0 defeat in a Ghana Premier League clash against Inter Allies.

The sad incident occurred around Nkawkaw when Kotoko’s bus run into a truck at the middle of the road.

The horrible accident claimed the life of the team’s Deputy Equipment Officer Thomas Obeng Asare. Other officials and a couple of players sustained injuries.

However, none of them have benefited from any insurance package.

The players, coach at thar time – Steven Pollack – and other team officials have lambasted the management at that time for failing to Compensate them.

Speaking to Kumasi based Akoma 87.9 FM, the speedster who suffered a btoken teeth in the process intimated, “We would have died a stupid death if we had died in that accident, Ghanaians players should learn from it, when you get the opportunity to travel outside, don’t take it for granted.

Ashitey Ollenu, together with other players were deemed surplus to requirement after the incident.

“I am disappointed because it has affected my career. The sad aspect is that Kotoko transferred us from the club after the accident.

“We have not received a penny from Kotoko,” he reiterated.

Some of the aggrieved players and officials have expressed their displeasure to the Prof. Nkansah led Committee which was installed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to investigate the affairs of Kotoko.

Former Asante Kotoko bus driver, Nana Berchie – who was behind the steer when the club was involved in a gory accident three years ago – has declared his family broke.

In 2017, Asante Kotoko team was involved in a road accident on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi road when the team was returning to the Ashanti Regional capital after a Ghana Premier League encounter against La-based Inter Allies.

The horrible accident claimed the life of the club’s Deputy Equipment Officer Thomas Kofi Asare, with other officials and players sustaining varied degree of injuries.

Unfortunately no member who was on board that day – July 12,2017 had received an insurance package they were promised.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Otec FM, Nana Berchie disclosed that he and his family are in difficult times as they struggle to cater for themselves.

“Due to what happened I am struggling financially. My wife has gone bankrupt now because she has spent all he resources looking after me. She has gone broke and now it is big burden on me.” Nana Berchie said in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Otec FM.

“I am pleading with Kotoko to help me. I am aging also. I’m not getting any younger so I am pleading with them to help me turn my life around.”

A section of the players hot the opportunity to express their displeasure about the incident to the Prof. Nkansah led Committee which was set up by Manhyia to investigate the affairs of the Porcupine Warriors.

The Appeals Court has thrown out an appeal against Nii Odartey Lamptey filed by his ex-wife Gloria Appiah.

Gloria Appiah’s petition to the Appeals Court to be given Odartey Lamptey’s seven-bedroom East Legon mansion as part of her alimony was thrown out.

In June 2017, the Accra High Court Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey who put finality to the winding legal battle ordered the estranged wife to vacate Odartey’s seven bed-room mansion in East Legon but must settle her with alimony of GHC 200,000.00, a car and Odartey’s four-bedroom house located in Dome.

The Ex-wife struggled to come to terms with the ruling, appeal for a review of the verdict with the aim of getting Odartey’s mansion as part of her entitlements but unfortunately, her appeal to own that large imposing residence has been thrown out by the Appeals Court.

All three judges who sat on the appeal ruled in favor of the ex-star and have asked Gloria to move out as soon as possible.

Odartey Lamptey Speaking to Kasapa FM’s Alexander Anyankwaa after the ruling said, “I feel happy now because it’s been over seven years of legal battle but I thank God that finally her appeal against me has been thrown out and the court has ordered her to evacuate from my mansion.

It has not been easy at all but I thank The Lord Almighty for a battle well fought. I thank my lawyers, Kizito Beyuo & Iris K. Aggrey-Orleans for a great job.”

He added that he wishes no one goes through what he was subjected to by his ex-wife.

“It’s my prayer that nobody experience this kind of situation because it can easily ruin your life,” Odartey told Kasapa FM’s Sports Journalist Alexander Anyankwaa.

The ex-Ghana star, now has three beautiful children with movie star Ruweida Yakubu, two girls, and a boy.

In 2013, reports emerged that DNA tests had uncovered the fact that the couple’s three children were not indeed fathered by the former World’s best juvenile player.

The impasse emanated from when Gloria wanted Nii Odartey Lamptey to send ‘their’ first daughter abroad to further her studies at a cost of £26,000 a year for three years.

Nii Odartey Lamptey then objected, citing the fact that the expense was too much and recommending that his daughter schools in Ghana for her University education.

Gloria was reportedly incensed by her husband’s stance and filed for divorce.
Nii Lamptey initially agreed to the divorce but delayed in his response because he reportedly suspected his wife of alleged infidelity.

The former midfielder, who represented Ghana at 1992, 1994 and 1996 African Nations Cup tournaments, secretly took samples from the three children and did a DNA test, which reportedly revealed that none of three girls were fathered by him.

Gloria demanded 50% of Nii Odartey Lamptey’s estate and other properties which he hotly disputed by asking the High Court to allow the DNA results to be entered in evidence.
