Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko is set to name local construction firm Nom Company Limited to work on the club’s pending training complex, according to Oyerepa FM’s report.

The project will be a temporal facility for the Porcupine Warriors when completed, where all offices of the club will be moved to.

New Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, during the unveiling of the new management team disclosed that the hierarchy of the Reds has approved the construction of the Adako Jachie Training Complex.

He further noted that the all-important project is expected to be completed within three months.

Per the reports, there were three suitors of which one was a Chinese company but after a thorough assessment, the board of directors of the club and Nana Yaw Amponsah settled on one of the Ghanaian firms – Nom Company to construct the edifice.

Nom Company Limited who are expected to commence their survey on the land on Monday, September 28, 2020, is a Construction and Container Modification Company.

The ultra-modern training complex when completed will have a swimming pool, health centres, technical rooms, secretariat, canteen, dressing rooms, etc.

Bechem United chief  Nana Kwasi Darlyn has kicked against the testing of players and officials for coronavirus, claiming the consistent inhaling of Azadirachta indica “neem tree” is a better option to boost the immune system of the principal actors ahead of the start of the 2020-21 season. 

Kwasi Darlyn insists the scientific approach of testing for the deadly virus is just a “frighten” tool which does little to solve the problem.

He is therefore advocating for a traditional approach to dealing with the virus which has claimed almost 300 lives in the powerful West African nation.

Premier League and Division One League clubs are expected to undergo mandatory testing prior to the start of the football season in November.

But there are fears about the cost and its implications on clubs, forcing King Faisal to defy government orders to kick-start training without the required testing protocol. 

But Bechem United Chief Executive Nana Kwasi Darlyn wants Match Commissioners to ensure players and officials “inhale the vapour of the neem tree” to serve as immune booster in a sensational twist to ways of preventing the coronavirus.

“The testing for coronavirus does not solve the problem. So instead of preaching the test of corona, we should be concerned about boosting our immune system,” he told popular Tarkwa-based Medeaama FM

“We should be channeling our energies in ensuring we make good use of Azadirachta indica “neem tree”

“The neem tree easily kills the virus. The match commissioners must just ensure players and officials immerse under neem tree before and after matches. The clubs can continue this routine before matches on weekly basis.

“The testing won’t solve the problem. The testing only frightens you, updates you on the number of people infected.

“Lets go the traditional way of covering ourselves with a cloth or big towel and inhale its vapour to boost the immune system. This is the most effective way than testing.”

Neem leaves are good to kill bacteria as well as cure leprosy, eye disorders, stomach upset, loss of appetite, skin ulcers, and diseases of the heart alongside liver problems.

According to available literature, neem tree, whose botanical name is Azadirachta indica or Indian lilac, is a popular ancient medicinal herb that has been part of traditional remedies that date back almost 5,000 years.

Neem leaves have anti-bacterial properties, and that is why they work wonders on infections, burns and skin problems.

The leaves destroy the bacteria that causes infections, stimulate the immune system and promote rapid healing.

People usually cook some of the plucked leaves, boil and drink the greenish liquid that comes from the leaves, while others squeeze the leaves in their palms and add it to water to have their bath.

One common usage is that people put the boiled leaves together with the hot water in a bucket, sit by it and cover themselves with a cloth or big towel and inhale its vapour.

This age-old practice in Ghana is known as ‘Punu’ by the Akans – which is the largest ethnic group in the West African nation.

The 2020-21 Ghana Premier League will kick-start on November 13.

The spokesperson of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr Kwame Opare Addo says Kofi Kordzi will put pen to paper for Muaither SC after he has successfully completed his medicals at the club.

Speaking in an interview with FOX FM’, Opare Addo disclosed that, Kofi Kordzi has left the country to Qatar for medicals ahead of his proposed move to Muaither SC.

“After a sucmedicalmedicals at the club, Kofi Kordzi will officially sign for Muaither SC in Qatar.”

When quizzed on player recruitment and additions at Hearts of Oak amidst the possible exit of the energetic striker – Kofi Kordzi, he explained that it depends on the technical team.

“The technical team have to consider the strengths and weaknesses of the club before a suggestion can be the made on player(s) to be added to the current squad at the club.”

Kordzi is having a running contract with Hearts of Oak until 2022 after joining them on a three-year deal from lower-tier side Royal FC last year. 

He emerged as the club’s top scorer in the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Kordzi scored 6 goals in his 14 appearances for Hearts of Oak.

Brilliant Asante Kotoko SC Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed that his Management team will work relentlessly to brand the players of the team who are the ‘cash cow’ of the club.

Majority of Ghanaian players have no knowledge about how to brand themselves to even secure personal sponsors that will enrich their lives.

Whilst players in Europe and other parts of the world are hugely benefiting from personal deals, the story is direct opposite of what is happening here.

However, Nana Yaw Amponsah believes that his Management team have the prerequisite skills to brand Kotoko players to be celebrities to attract more companies for endorsements.
“My Management is determined to brand Kotoko players to be celebrities just like movie stars and musicians, and this means that, where they live, where they eat and their outfits must be evolved,” said Nana Yaw Amponsah on Opemsuo 104.7 FM.

He reckoned that “If a Kumawood actor is tagged as a celebrity, why can’t a Kotoko player be in the same tag. Our players must get an endorsement from big brands.”

Accessibility of information in Ghana is one of the difficult portion in the media landscape which has led rumours to take significant part of their work, but the newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer for Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has disclosed that under his watch he is going to create enabling environment where accessing information in the club will not demand toil.

The FIFA Intermediary had previously hinted that he is going to improve the work of the media during the unveiling of the 8-member Management.

Nonetheless, a section of the media has misconstrued what he said about improving the work of the Media.

“No football administrator in Ghana can say that he can run football in the country without the media. The media play a pivotal role in our line of duty.”

What I meant by improving the media was to create an enabling environment for the media landscape that give them an avenue to access information to give them more news.”

The International football game between the Black Stars of Ghana and Equatorial Guinea has been called off.

Ghana was scheduled to play the Central Africans on Monday, October 12, in one of two friendlies lines up for the team in next month’s FIFA International window (except for European Countries).

The Equatorial Guinean Football Association informed the GFA of the latest decision late Thursday, citing new travel restrictions imposed in their country. Equatorial Guinea’s borders are closed, and flights are suspended due to new COVID-19 rules.

The GFA has immediately set in motion an alternative plan to secure another match for the team as the Coaches prepare for the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Sudan in November.
