Emmanuel Adjetey rejoins Inter Allies FC

Former Inter Allies winger Emmanuel Adjetey has rejoined the Club ahead of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

Adjetey signed a one-year contract until the end of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

“I am very happy to come back home, I want to use my experience to help the team this season,” he said.

The 32-year old played a lot of matches for us in his first stint where he spent four years (went on loan to Liberty Professionals in between that time).

With a wide range of experience, Adjetey comes with quality as he has featured for Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS and Charleston Battery in the USL.

He has played for a host of clubs including AshantiGold, Liberty Professionals and Maranatha FC in Togo.

Ghana winger Samuel Owusu completes switch to Saudi side Al-Ahli Jeddah 

Ghana international Samuel Owusu has completed his move to Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Ahli Jeddah.

The 24-year-old joined the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium outfit on a one-year loan deal from relegated side Al-Fayha SC.

Owusu netted 7 goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances for Al Fayha last season.

Owusu joined Saudi Arabian top-flight club Al-Fayha SC from Serbian side FK Cukaricki after his explosive performance during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt.

Owusu was a member of the lack Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Egypt.

He was on the radar of several clubs appearance Chinese giants Shanghai SIPG and Al Ain of United Arab Emirates.

He has made eight appearaces for the senior national team of Ghana.

Former Ghana Division One League referee Akorliga Kwoffie has been confirmed dead in Takoradi by family members according to reports filed by KYFilla.

The promising referee was one of the experienced men that was highly tipped to officiate the top-flight in the coming seasons but couldn’t live up to expectations that the Western Regional Referees Association had for him.

Details of his burial will be announced in the coming days as Ghana Football Association’s top hierarchy are yet to be notified officially.

Asamoah Gyan set to earn $1 million at Legon Cities

Asamoah Gyan is on the verge of joining Legon Cities after agreeing a long term deal with the Ghana Premier League club.

Gyan, who has been a free agent since January after being released by North East United has been on the hunt for a new club.

Joy Sports understands a deal between Ghana’s all-time top scorer and Legon Cities has been agreed, with the official club announcement the only thing remaining.

As part of the deal, Gyan’s management team asked for teenage sensation Mathew Anim Cudjoe to be signed as well.

Gyan will also earn about $1 million in salary over his four-year contract as he will receive an annual salary of $250,000.

Asante Kotoko had been linked with the 34-year-old all summer but it looks like Legon Cities will have Gyan in their squad for next season alongside former Kotoko player, Mathew Cudjoe.

According to reports, Legon Cities could sign youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe, who played for Kotoko on loan last season.

Ex-Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Owusu dies at age 37

Former Asante Kotoko forward Stephen Owusu has been confirmed dead at age 37 at 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

His death was announced by her sister Abigail Comfort Owusu on Saturday, 24 October 2020 via Facebook.

Comfort Owusu posted a collage of the former Tusker FC player with the inscription: ”Fare thee, my brother.”

According to reports, Owusu has been battling with illnesses for some time in Kenya.

He also played for Nigerian outfit Sharks FC and Ghanaian side Aduana Stars FC before leaving to continue his career in Kenya, where he played for Tusker FC and Nairobi Stima.

He was also had stints with Heart of Lions and Accra Celtics.

Asante Kotoko to announce TWO mega sponsorship deals

Asante Kotoko is set to announce two mega sponsorship deals to their tall roster of sponsors, according to the club’s Communications Manager, Moses Antwi Benefo.

The current eight-member management team led by the Nana Yaw Amponsah are bent on making the Porcupines a commercially viable entity since their unveiling last month.

Kotoko have secured kit sponsorship deal with Italian kit manufacturers Errea, Adonko Next Level Energy Drink and electrical appliance giants Hisense Ghana and partnership agreements with VEO and Instat.

According to Moses Antwi Benefo, the hierarchy is not yet done with the unveiling of sponsors, revealing that the club will announce two juicy sponsors soon.

“I can confidently say by next week we will announce two or three new mega sponsorship deals in addition to the already signed ones,” he told Kumasi-based media outlet Oyerepa FM.

“The Kotoko you see today will not be the same in, the next six months.”

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors, in their quest to improve their performance in the upcoming season in both the CAF Champions League and the Ghana Premier League have augmented their squad with the acquisition of eight players.

They include Emmanuel Keyekeh full-back United, former Atalanta full back Patrick Asmah, Black Stars shot-stopper Razak Abalora, Evans Adomako, former Ashgold duo Yussif Mubarik and Latif Anabila.

Others are Emmanuel Sarkodie, Andrews Appau from Bofoakwa Tano and quite recently Brazilian international Fabio dos Santos Gama.

Official: Hearts Of Oak confirm Kofi Kordzi transfer to Muaither SC

Accra Hearts Of Oak have officially confirmed the successful transfer of striker Kofi Kordzi to Qatari outfit Muaither SC.

The bulky attacker trekked to the Doha-based side last month for mandatory medical examination as well as physical and technical fitness.

The 25-year-old has permitted by the Phobians after Muaither SC submitted a $150,000 deal plus 20% onward transfer fee – which the Ghanaian giants accepted after several deliberations.

Hearts, however, did not disclose many details but confirmed on Saturday that a deal has finally been signed and sealed with Muiather – who plays in the Qatari Second Division.

Kordzi joined the Rainbow Club on a three-year deal in 2019 from lower-tier side Royals FC.

He was Hearts Of Oak’s top scorer with 6 goals in 14 appearances in the truncated 2019-20 Ghana Premier League.

Hearts Of Oak complete another signing ahead of the new season

Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts Of Oak have strengthened their their team with the acquisition of a top striker ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The Rainbow Club on Friday secured the services of their former forward Patrick Razak.

The speedster rejoined Hearts Of Oak on a three-year after training with the side for several weeks ahead of the upcoming season.

Razak impressed the technical handlers led by Edward Nii Odoom hence the decision to hand him a deal until 2023.

He returned to Ghana after terminating his contract with Guinea top-flight side AC Horoya. The 2017 WAFU gold medalist failed to impress during his stay at the club.

The former Tamale Utrecht talisman becomes Hearts’ recent signing ahead of the new season after Abednego Tetteh, Isaac Mensah, Nuru Sulley, Abdoulrahamane Mamane Lawali, Eric Dizan, and Ademola Kuti.

Hearts will travel to play Aduana Stars in Dormaa in the opening fixture of the Ghana Premier League scheduled to start November 13, 2020.

Derrick Okraku replaces Henry Asante Twum as new Dreams FC head of Communications

Young law student Derrick Okraku has been named the new head of communications for Dreams FC following the departure of Henry Asante.

The position has been vacant since Henry Asante was appointed the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association in February this year.

The club on Friday announced new changes to their managerial structure with Derrick Okraku as the new head of communications.

Until his appointment, he was the club’s Corporate Affairs Manager.

A club statement read:

As part of the club’s recent reforms in the management structure, the Board of Dreams Football Club has named Derrick .A. Okraku as the new head of the club’s communication wing, Dreams Media.

Okraku fills the role which has been vacant for some time now following the appointment of the former Communication Director Henry Asante Twum as the new Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association.

Since his appointment in 2015, Okraku acted as deputy head of the department while doubling as Corporate Affairs Manager.

The creative Okraku’s ability to lead the media team can’t be questioned and the board believes with his worth of knowledge the Dreams FC brand will see incredible growth.
