Asante Kotoko maintained their unbeaten away record by securing a 2-0 win over Karela United on matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League at Anyinase.
I’m pro Ibrahim and Kwame Opoku netted the goals for the Porcupine Warriors.
The victory ends Karela United’s 66 games unbeaten record at the CAM Park.

Madness erupted at Twumasi Sports Complex after the gameweek 6 Division One Zone One fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Real Tamale United (RTU) as players and officials of the away team RTU were assaulted and left badly injured.
The game at the end of 90 minutes ended 1-1. However, fans of Nsoatreman FC who were unhappy with the results at the end of 90 minutes started to hurdle projectiles at the RTU players to register their displeasure.
One of the RTU players by name Abubakari Nawas and a management member named Mr. Habib were hit by the projectiles and in the process left badly injured.
RTU is expected to make a formal complaint to the Ghana Football Association for appropriate actions to be taken against such vile and abominable act that taints the image of Ghana football.

A late Kwadwo Obeng Junior’s strike was enough for Hearts of Oak to draw 1-1 with Legon Cities FC in Week 13 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak, who were without a win in three matches, showed determination to end that unwanted run by probing for the initiative.
Obeng Junior went close to fetching the opener in the 4th minute with a low shot but the went wide.
In the 4th minute, The Phobians had another chance to go ahead but Patrick Razak failed to tap home into an empty net.
After failing to cope with the high pressure tactics by Hearts of Oak, it was Legon Cities FC who drew the first blood through Jonah Attuquaye.
Hearts of Oak were given a huge opportunity to open the scoring in the 16th minute after referee Joseph Padi Kenny whistled for a penalty but Umar Manaf placed his shot wide.
The petit forward was released on the half way line by midfielder Nasiru Moro and he raced clear of Nuru Sulley before slotting his initial shot between the legs of goalkeeper Richard Attah and the rebound fell kindly on his path and he took the second bite of the cherry with aplomb.
Hearts of Oak took charge of the game there on, creating lots of chances with Razak and Manaf going close.
The Rainbow Club believed they’ve had the equalizer through Obeng Jnr’s header but goalkeeper Winfred Honu stretched at length to parry the ball into corner.
It was the hosts from there on and nearly had the leveler but Razak was poor again as he failed to control the ball.
Hearts of Oak continued from where they left off in the opening half but couldn’t create enough chances to trouble the visitors.
Obeng Jnr sent shock waves across the stadium after blasting his shot into the sky when he had the goal at his mercy via a wonderful work by Umar Manaf.
Hearts kept probing for the equalizer but the steady defense of Legon Cities FC thwarted their efforts.
Benjamin Afutu, who replaced Frederick Ansah Botchway at half time, was the latest Hearts of Oak player to had a sniff at goal but couldn’t control his header as the ball flew just wide.
The match looked to be heading for another defeat for the Phobians but Obeng Junior popped up with a late equalizer in the 86th minute.
The lanky striker exhibited calmness in front of goal to latch onto a heading pass by Manaf, but much credit to Raddy Ovouka whose powerful whip set up the goal.
The result has left Hearts of Oak in 11th place with 17 points, with Legon Cities FC sitting 15th spot with 14 points from 13 games.

Asante Kotoko are top of the Ghana Premier League for the first time this season after ending Karela United’s perfect record with a 2-0 victory at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors inflicted on Karela their first defeat of the campaign to overtake them at the summit of the table.
After six straight victories, Karela were confident of victory, but Kotoko led by stop-gap coach Johnson Smith, who secured top-flight football for Karela in 2017, had other ideas.
Smith’s strategy worked to perfection with Kotoko winning the encounter thanks to goals from Ibrahim Imoro and striker Kwame Opoku.
Kotoko overcame the early pressure and started to attack. It paid off in the 39th minute when Ibrahim Imoro, a former Karela player, scored the opening goal. Imoro fired a low driven shot into the net for his second goal of the season.
Kwame Opoku, who has been Kotoko’s most important player this season, doubled the lead on 61 minutes. The striker got to end off fine pass by Emmanuel Gyamfi and produced clinical low strike into the left bottom corner.
Kotoko protected the two goals to claim a famous win.
The defeat leaves Karela United in third.

Asante Kotoko Stop-gap coach Johnson Smith has announced his starting line up to battle out with Karela United this afternoon.
The Porcupine Warriors are locking horns with league leaders Karela United in their match-week 13 fixture at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
Coach Smith has made one change in his line up that managed to beat Inter Allies in their mid-week encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Defender Yussif Mubarik has returned to the team as Wahab Adams has been dropped to bench with Felix Annan, Evans Adomako and others missing the match-day squad.

Diawusie Taylor has dazzled million fans with his goal scoring prowess in the League especially at the Crosby Awuah Memorial park in Aiyinase.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals to power Karela United to the top of the League log and his fine form would be the toast of fans when they line up against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Aside Taylor, Umar Bashiru, Sidiq Alhassan and Kwame Boateng have all been truly amazing in the season with some delectable performances on match days. Karela have won 22 points in 12 games with majority of the points being recorded at home, where they have a 100 per cent record after winning all six home games.
Asante Kotoko have not been overly impressive but have in recent weeks, enjoyed a positive turnaround to climb up to third, two points behind Karela United.
Karela have scored 14 goals, four more than what Kotoko have managed in the season is more than what Kotoko have scored this season.
Six of those goals have come from striker Kwame Opoku, with the other four coming Osman Ibrahim, Moro Ibrahim, Christopher Nettey and Naby Keita.
While Karela are unbeaten at home, Kotoko also boasts of an unbeaten record in away games, going six games without defeat.
In the last three competitive meetings, Kotoko have won two and lost one.

Legon Cities FC (Wa All Stars) have the upper hand on the former African champions, recording a total of 10 wins with Hearts of Oak managing six victories, with four ending in a draw.
Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is out with injury. His last game was back in November during a 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko.

Ebusua Dwarfs ccontinued their impressive away record in the ongoing Ghana Premier League after hitting two past struggling Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Mysterious Club commenced to dominate the game and took a deserving lead in the 70th minute through Benjamin Acquah. He curled the ball from the edge of the box pass goalkeeper Gideon Ahenkorah.
Dwarfs made it 2-0 in the 76th minute, Moro Sumaila beat onrushing Gideon Ahenkorah.

Ebusua Dwarfs handed Inter Allies their sixth consecutive defeat in a row in this matchday 13 fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
The Capelli boys lost 2-0 to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Accra Sports Stadium in the game played on Saturday.
Richmond Lamptey with a long range effort just outside the goal area of Ebusua Dwarfs was pushed over the bar by the goalkeeper in the opening minutes of the game.
Paul Abanga nearly put the home side in the lead but his effort hit the woodwork in the 11th minute.
Inter Allies goalkeeper came up with a good save to deny Gideon Ahenkorah from breaking the deadlock with his effort in the 33rd minute.
The first half ended goalless with both sides heading into the break with all to play for in the second half.
Nafiu Sulemana races off and sets Taufiq Shaibu one-on-one with the goalkeeper but the shot-stopper does well to deny the striker in the 55th minute.
Benjamin Acquah broke the deadlock in the 70th minute for Ebusua Dwarfs with the first goal of the game.
Moro Sumaila increased the lead for the away side with second goal of the game in the 76th minute as Dwarfs eased their way to victory.

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has been subbed off due to injury in Arsenal’s Premier League game against Aston Villa.
The 27-year-old has experienced an injury ridden period at Arsenal since joining them on a 50 million euro deal in 2020. He suffered his first injury coincidentally against Aston Villa earlier this season.
Arsenal are trailing 1-0 and have little time to equalize. Partey was taken off in the 74th minute and was replaced by Willian. Partey was visibly holding his thigh as he was on the ground in pain.
The former Atletico Madrid man will hope that the injury is not serious.
