International Allies Striker Nafiu Sulemana hits two goals in Allies 3-0 home win over Medeama SC this afternoon in the week 27 fixture of the ongoing 2020-21 premier league campaign.

The Game begun with each team looking promising to emerge victorious. Both teams looked strong and determine to win in the first half, but with full of energy from both sides, each side held the other side until the game went to the break.

In the second half, Allies pushed harder for the opener, but Medeama did contain their foe for about twenty minutes until Andy Okpe broke the virginity of the game, after the former Nigerian U-20 attacker headed home for the home side.

With Allies trying it hard on Medeama, two late goals by Nafiu Suleimana on the 89th and 90th minute torn the Tarkwa based club apart within the scope of two minutes.

The Tarkwa based club couldn’t recover or get any consolation goal as Sulemana’s two late goals at the die embers of the game broke them down. 

Subsequently, the game came to end with the Tema based club winning 3-0 over Medeama.

Inter Allies, who, before the game, were the last team on the league log, battling relegation, now, have 26 points nonetheless, they remain last on the table.

Legon Cities FC punched above their weights to hand a painful 1-0 home defeat to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Defender Mohammed Issaka hammered home the game’s only goal 5 minutes before the break and the Royals maintained their composure to finish the game as winners.

Thomas Duah’s side show a little desire, a little quality and a little less poise and grit to go for what was at stake in the game as Cities swept away the maximum points.

With head coach Bashir Hayford still on the road to recovery from illness his number 2 took charge of the game.

Cities have leapfrogged the Miners to go 9th on the table with 35 points and have completed a season double over AshantiGold after hammering them 5-2 in the first-leg tie in Accra in the first round.

AshantiGold have now lost their last two games in the league and just 5 points away from the drop zone.

Techiman Eleven Wonders lifted themselves out of the relegation zone after beating King Faisal 1-0 at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman in Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Young striker Samuel Boakye struck the solitary goal of the game with an 80th minute finish which sunk Kassim Gokiyildiz and his men.

The tie sparked a lot of off-the-field controversy with King Faisal alleging that Wonders players sprinkled some concoctions on the field of play.

A lot of things were at stake in this tie but the most important of them was the maximum points which either side needed to move themselves out of the relegation zone.

The win has moved Wonders to 15th berth with 30 points – a point better than Faisal who now sit 16th on the chart and still facing the dangers of relegation from the top-flight.

Coach Samuel Boadu has named Hearts Of Oak starting lineup for Berekum Chelsea clash this evening.

The two sides lock horns in the late kickoff of the week 27 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Richard Atta has been maintained in the posts and will be hoping to keep another clean sheet.

Winger Patrick Razak has been benched after returning to the squad from injury while striker Afriyie Barnieh starts.

Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko played out a scoreless draw in their crucial matchday 27 encounter in Dormaa on Saturday.

The Fire Boys had a lot of chances in the first stanza to take the lead but fluffed all the opportunities.

Kotoko came in stronger in the second half but could not pick a win, securing their 4th draw in ten visits to the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park.

Liberty Professionals have exhibited a stupendous display to rise from a goal down to narrowly edge out Dreams FC by 2-1 at WAFA Arena in Sogakope in an exciting and pulsating week 27 tie of the Ghana Premier League.

Astoningly, coach Andy Sinasson at the dugout of the host has dropped first choice goalkeeper Kofi Baah to start Daniel Amisah in goal this afternoon with his reasons yet to be known.

The visitors with an explosive start scoring in the early stages of the game after target man Agyenim Boateng combines sumptuously with Precious Boah to break the deadlock of the game.

Liberty Professionals however, doing anything to ensure they halt their winless run from stretching to six as they have failed to record a win in their last five matches in the ongoing campaign. 

Dreams FC after 27 minutes have been the dominant side in the game doing anything possible to maintain their lead and have also been the best team since the commencement of the game here in Sogakope.

The ‘Still Believe’ side came so close on many occasions to double their lead but series of blocks made by the Liberty defence ensured the scoreline remains 1-0 as at on the 34th minute.

The travelers held onto their one goal lead to half time.

Back from recess, having dominated the entire first half, Dreams FC appeared really strong in the second department and nearly scored again after Victor Oduro launched in a decent cross into the box but had no option at far post to get the connection.

The ‘Scientific Soccer’ lads gradually picking up their pieces in the game as they look to take the game at their opponents having remained quiet right from the blast of the referee’s whistle.

The host awarded a penalty on the 50th minute. Abraham Wayo took charge and plotted it nicely at the back of the net to get Liberty Professionals the equaliser.

Victor Oduro again with another incursion after hitting a dangerous one from miles out but a great reflex from goalkeeper Daniel Amissah denied that one from entering into the net.

Liberty Professionals scores again on the 75th minute through midfielder Maxwell Ansah who nets to hand his side the lead for the first time in the game.

Dreams FC coach Vladialav Viric introduced the likes of Dantani Amadu, Ali Huzaif etc hoping to turn things around in the last ten minutes and get them back on track in the game but all proved futile.

It finished 2-1 in the end. Huge win for Liberty Professionals who have now ended their five game winless run and have now moved out of the relegation holding 29 points and sitting 15th on the league log.

Aduana Stars were held to a goalless stalemate by Asante Kotoko in Week 27 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Saturday.

Aduana Stars started the match in a spirited mood, controlling much of possession but were unable to make it count on the scoresheet.

Asante Kotoko quickly found their rhythm and began forcing the hosts to coil into their shell.

Samuel Bio, who struck the dagger in the hearts of the Porcupine faithful, nearly fetched the opener for Aduana Stars but his long drive was equally dealt with by goalkeeper Razak Abalora.

In the 7th minute, Bio again went close to breaking the deadlock but could not direct his header after being fed by a sweet cross from Sam Adams.

Fans of Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park thought they had the opener after Mudasiru Salifu struck the ball beautifully from the edge of the area, but the ball went just wide.

Aduana Stars were left off the hook after goalkeeper Joseph Addo’s clearance went straight to Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey who went for goal from the half way line but Farouk Adams cleared the ball off the line.

It was not long as the Fire Boys had a penalty shout waved off by referee Julian Nunoo. Aduana Stars forward Bright Adjei was bundled off the ball by Mudasiru. The Asante Kotoko midfielder was just lucky as the incident could resulted in a spot kick.

Aduana Stars had a perfect chance to go ahead but Sam Adams did not keep his composure as he effort was parried off the bar by goalkeeper Abalora.

The hosts went close again just a minute after the miss by Adams. Nurudeen Abdulai headed his ball against the upright with Abalora rooted to the ground.

Asante Kotoko defender Ismael Ganiu put in a last-ditch tackle to deny Bio from firing Aduana in front from close range just before referee Nunoo brought an eventful first half proceedings to an end.

The visitors returned from recess with lots of zeal in their bid to open the scoring. The Kumasi-based lads nearly got the first goal after breaking free in Aduana’s half but Fabio Gama failed to glide the final pass to Nettey who was unmarked.

Kotoko coach Mariano Barreto made two quick substitutions, replacing Emmanuel Keyekeh and Augustine Okrah with Latif Anabila and Evans Adomako respectively.

Former Vendsyssel FC forward Solomon Sarfo Taylor also came on for captain Emmanuel Gyamfi.

Habib Mohammed nearly gifted Aduana a chance in the 65th minute after failing to control the ball in the box but the defender was lucky to have the second bite of the cherry after the ball hit the shin of Bright Adjei and bounced back to him.

After the 75th minute, Kotoko finally created a decent chance with a fine pass by Anabila to open the defense of Aduana, but striker Andy Kumi reacted slowly as goalkeeper Joseph Addo superbly timed his run to tip the ball to corner.

Adomako tested Addo with a fine drive on the edge of the box but the goalkeeper calmly dealt with it.

Kotoko appeared much more organized in the final embers of the game but failed to bury the half chances to go ahead.

The result saw Aduana Stars move to 7th with 40 points while Asante Kotoko leapfrogged rivals Hearts of Oak on the table with 47 points.

Hearts of Oak meanwhile have a date with Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
