MTN FA CUP Round 32: Rustum for Elmina Sharks vs Vipers on Sunday

Assisted by Stephen Balanguena and Doris Essumang Darko on the lines, experienced Class one Referee, Rustum Gameli Senorgbe has yet been appointed to handle another MTN FA Cup match between Elmina Sharks and Venomous Vipers.

The round of 32 fixture, is scheduled to come off at the Nduom Stadium on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Caper Coast based Vipers, a division 1 side progressed to this stage after a 1-0 victory over Star Madrid while Premier league team, Elmina Shark got here with a 2-0 win against Metro Stars FC.

Solomon Mordey will be in charge of the 4th Official post in the regional derby with Jacobs Amegatsey as the Match Commissioner.

Rustum, who is a SWAG member, has been in charge Accra City Stars’ 4-0 win against Emmanuel Fc in the preliminary round at the Teshie Mats Park on May 15, and the 4-0 thrashing of Akatsi All Stars by WAFA in the round of 64 at the WAFA Park on June 2.

MTN FA Cup: Thunderbolt vs Kotoko – Preview, How To Watch On TV& Kick Off Time

Asante Kotoko will lock horns with lower-tier side Thunderbolt FC in the round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup.

The match has been scheduled to kick off this afternoon, June 19, 2021 at the Afrane Okesse Park in Ejisu, where Thunderbolt and Asante Kotoko will battle it out for a round of 16 berth.

The fixture is expected to be a thrilling one spiced with ferocity and plucky as both sides have vowed to pick the slot to the next stage of the upset driven competition.

The Porcupines eliminated Bekwai Youth football Academy in the round of 64. Goals from Fabio Gama from the spot and Emmanuel Keyekeh’s wonderful free-kick secured the passage for the Reds to this stage.

Thunderbolt, prior to this stage defeated Konongo Owareman FC 3-1 and River Plate 2-0 to make it to the round of 32.

After a spirited performance against Inter Allies last Monday to secure a late win, the Porcupines would want to continue their recent good run to boost their confidence going into the Karela United game on Wednesday.

Three players have been shortlisted for the NASCO Player of the Month Award for May.

The shortlisted players are: Ibrahim Salifu of Hearts of Oak, Sam Adams of Aduana Stars and Ismail Abdul Ganiu of Asante Kotoko.

Six matches were played in the month of May with the three players exhibiting strong individual performances which helped their respective teams in the month.

The three players were nominated considering the number of Player of Match awards won and goals scored in the month.

The winner of the Player of the Month for May will be announced on Friday, June 25 live on GFA News.

The winner will receive a NASCO television set and a personalized trophy.

Hasaacas Ladies Cleared To Compete In CAF Women’s Champions League

Women’s Premier League club Hasaacas Ladies FC have been successful with their application for a license to participate in the upcoming CAF WOMEN’S Champions League 2021.

As part of the GFA’s continuing implementation of the Club Licensing framework, the Club Licensing Department of the GFA working in line with the new CAF directives requested a license application from Hasaacas Ladies, the Ghana’s sole representative in the maiden edition.

In line with the current CAF/GFA Club Licensing Regulation, the applicant was assessed in five key areas: Sporting, Infrastructure, Personnel and Administration, Legal and Financial.

Based on these criteria, a license has been granted to Hasaccas Ladies FC by the Club Licensing Committee acting as the First Instant Body to participate in the CAF Women’s Champions League 2021.

The decision has already been communicated to the club.

The Club License Department and the Committee wishes to congratulate the club on a successful application process and acknowledge the efforts of many key personnel at the club for the time and contributions they made towards the successful application in this very short period.

Meanwhile, the department shall from time-to-time conduct Spot – Check inspection to ascertain the adherence and continuous compliance especially, to identify defects and its corresponding implementations as identified during the licensing process.

Anderlecht confirm Signing of Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru

The Jupilar Pro League giants have confirmed the singing of the Ghanaian midfielder from Red Bull Salzburg.

Red Bull Salzburg Attacking Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has joined Belgian giants Anderlecht on a four-year permanent deal.

The ex-WAFA star joined Anderlecht on loan from Red Bull Salzburg during the second half of the season, and after improved performance, Anderlecht made the deal permanent.

Anderlecht sporting director Peter Verbeke director in a statement says;

“Despite a difficult integration due to Covid and an injury, Majeed has shown in his best moments what he can teach us. He has an excellent vista and passing, coupled with speed and infiltration ability, interesting qualities to give our midfield a little extra bring the following seasons.”

Ashimeru has since made 12 appearances for Anderlecht in all competitions and has registered two goals to his name.

2020/21 MTN FA Cup: Legon Cities vs Phar Rangers called-off

The Ghana Football Association(GFA) has called-off the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup round of 32 encounters between Legon Cities and Phar Rangers

The game was scheduled to come off Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

But the top hierarchy of the football association in the West African country has called off the game due to a pending misconduct case against Division One League outfit.

A letter from the FA to Legon Cities read;

“Please be informed that the 2020/2021 MTN FA Cup Round of 32 match between Legon Cities FC and Phar Rangers will not be played this weekend due to a pending misconduct case before the GFA Disciplinary Committee against Phar Rangers FC.
 
All stakeholders should kindly take note.
 
Sporting regards.”

The Royals will now have to wait for the GFA for the next line of action.
