Accra Hearts of Oak Respond To Great Olympics Over Gladson Awako.

Great Olympics CEO oluboi commodore has claimed 30 year old player Gladson Awako is no more a player of Accra Hearts of Oak recently,but Hearts of Oak has come out with latest respond.

Olympics made it clear that,Former captain of great Olympics is no more a player to Hearts of Oak on several occasions because the club refused to obligated Olympics financial law.

So in case of this Awako has automatically returned to great Olympics, Oluboi insisted.

Spokesperson for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has responded to Olympics claimed on SportsNite show at Asampa fm.

“Gladson Awako is still a player of Accra Hearts of Oak. He has contract with the club and when he starts training with the club he will play any game the coach prefers.

Gladson Awako signed a contract with Accra Hearts of Oak in August after the two clubs reached agreement of Gh.100,000 cedis fee.

Awako was one of the best player in the league last season and great captain for Great Olympics as where.

Official: Karela United Sign Rashid Seidu From Inter Allies To Replace Richard Baidoo

Karela United have acquired the services of goalkeeper Rashid Seidu from Inter Allies on a free transfer, footy.ghpush.com/ can confirm.

The 26-year old shot-stopper left relegated side Inter Allies after the 2020/21 season.

The experience goalkeeper is expected to compete with Yaw Ansah Fufuro at the club next season.

The Anyinase-based club made this move to replace the top-notch goalkeeper Richard Baidoo, who has re-joined his mother club Hearts of Oak after his loan spell.

Rashid Seidu was in poles for Inter Allies on 24 times, conceded 22 goals and kept 8 clean sheets last season.

The former U-23 goalkeeper has played for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Bechem United and Wa All Stars all in the Ghana premier League.

There is unity of purpose in Black Stars camp

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku is excited at the unity in the Black Stars camp since the arrival of Milovan Rajevac.

Rajevac returned in September after Charles Akonnor along with assistant coaches David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars were sacked over poor results.

The Serb has won his first two games in his second spell, both against Zimbabwe to revive Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Black Stars beat Zimbabwe 3-1 in Cape Coast on Saturday, and three days later, recorded a 1-0 victory in Harare thanks to midfielder Thomas Partey’s ferocious free-kick from 25 yards.

Okraku was with the team in Cape Coast and led the delegation to Harare.

He told TV3, “Naturally, we have a very disciplined team. I am told by people who have been involved in the Black Stars that perhaps this is the most serene atmosphere they have ever experienced, plus mostly, coach Milovan comes with the history. He has been here before, the likes of Dede and Wakaso who have played with him know him very well. They know what he likes and doesn’t like.

“Otto Addo comes in as a fresh face with new energy. So, that also serves as an inspiration to the players in the dressing room. The vibes coming out of the dressing room is so so positive. There is a unity of purpose. The players stand up for each other. They work together as a unit.

“In my pre-departure [for Harare] speech to the team, I said to them that it is important they play as a unit and we saw together in the last two games, they played as a unity. Even in [Tues]day’s game, in the game that we didn’t have our fluidity, in a game that we didn’t have our usual dominant self, they played as a bloc. That tells you clearly that there is hope for our tomorrow.”

Okraku also reiterated his confidence in the new technical team, headed by Rajevac.

He said with Maxwell Konadu and Richard Kingson joining Rajevac and Otto Addo, the set-up looks interesting.

He believes they “will take Ghana to the Promised Land”.

Following the back-to-back wins, the Black Stars have 9 points and are second in Group G, just a point behind South Africa.

Ghana will qualify for the crucial playoffs with wins in their last two games against Ethiopia and South Africa in November.

Former Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder, Mikel John Obi has revealed how Michael Essien gave him the confidence to adjust to life at Stamford Bridge.

The former Super Eagles captain joined the English giants in 2006, a year after the former Ghana international had signed for the Blues from Lyon.

The now Kuwait SC player said the big names in the team he used to watch on TV and now his teammates were scaring him, but Essien spoke to him to calm his nerves.

He won the Uefa Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League, Uefa Europa League, Community Shield, and Football League Cup.

In an interview with The Athletic, Mikel said, “Suddenly, I was sharing a dressing room with all these players I had watched on television back in Afric

“I was sitting next to Lassana Diarra. I would be there thinking, ‘Oh my God, it’s Didier Drogba. It’s Frank Lampard. It’s John Terry’.

“Michael Essien [who joined Chelsea from Lyon in the summer of 2005] really helped me. Michael always told me I was a good player and just reminded me to bring the ball down, control and pass.

“If you need to dribble, dribble. If you don’t need to, just pass. You are strong. You are fast, too. If you can, just push the ball past and run, run, run because they cannot catch you.

“He was the guy who really helped me and made me have a lot of confidence.”

Asante Kotoko sign young goalkeeper

Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the acquisition of talented shot-stopper Abdul Rafiu Yakubu, according to Opemsuo Radio.

The budding goalie joins from Wa Suntaa Sporting Club for an undisclosed fee after fruitful negotiations. He has penned down a long-term deal with the Kumasi-based club.

Rafiu Yakubu, 22, has had a stint with Division One League side Nkoranza Warriors SC before joining Wa Suntaa SC in the second half of the 2021/22 football season.

Asante Kotoko is expected to announce the signing of the young goalkeeper in the coming days and will join Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side after their preseason tour in Dubai.

The Porcupine Warriors already have three goalkeepers namely Razak Abalora, Ibrahim Danlad and Kwame Baah in their fold.

He becomes the fifteenth signing of Asante Kotoko after Clinton Opoku, Stephen Amankona, Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Samuel Boateng, Isaac Oppong, Richard Boadu, Dickson Afoakwa, Augustine Agyapong, Sheriff Mohammed, Samuel Appiah and Joseph Amoako.

Cameroon duo Mbella Etouga Thiery and George Mfegue have also been signed by Asante Kotoko for their next season’s campaign.

Asante Kotoko suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first preseason exercise in Dubai against Al Hilal United at the Al Hamriyah Sport and Cultural Stadium.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum paraded four newbies namely Richard Boadu, Joseph Amoako, Clinton Opoku and Dickson Afoakwa in his starting line up for the fixture 

The Porcupine Warriors commenced the game on a good note with brilliant passes in the middle as it was bossed by Richard Boadu and Emmanuel Keyekeh.

Asante Kotoko were unlucky upfront with the few chances created in the first department of the game as Dickson Afoakwa’s attempt on the 12th minute went wide.

Al Hilal United proved their strength on the flanks as Nduor Fall and Bello Rouchdane kept dazzling the back line of the Ghanian giants.

Newly-signed Clinton Opoku and Fabio Gama were fouled most times resulting in free-kicks but none aided the Porcupine Warriors the opener.

Surak Musah and Milla combined with hopes of grabbing the opener before recess but their efforts went futile at the Al Hamriyah Sport and Cultural Stadium.

The first department of the scrimmage ended in a scores stalemate in Dubai.

After the recess, Al Hilal United continued their impressive performance as displayed in the dying embers of the first half as they launched a fearsome attack which gave them the match-winner.

On the 47th minute, former Ghana U23 left-back Christopher Nettey scored a goal at wrong net to hand Al Hilal United the victory in the crunchy preseason friendly.

Coach Ogum made two substitutions in the second half as Richmond Lamptey and Sheriff Mohammed were introduced as replacement for Clinton Opoku and Emmanuel Keyekeh respectively.

Asante Kotoko gained possession in the mid of the second half with hopes of levelling the score but their efforts went futile as the fixture ended in a 1-0 win in favor of the hosts.

The Kumasi-based club is currently in the Gulf country for a two-week preseason tour ahead of their 2021/22 season campaign.

Asante Kotoko left the shores of Ghana to Dubai for preseason tour last week for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season scheduled to commence on October 29.

CAF Champions League: Injuries Hit WAC Of Morocco’s Camp

Moroccan side WAC are seriously preparing toward their CAF Champions League game against Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak has. But the side has been dealt major injury setback.

Three solid players will miss the game against Hearts of Oak including their top star man Salahuddin Benisho.

The other two key players in the team to miss the game on Sunday through injuries are Hamza Haimoud and sufian Kerkash.

The absence of these players is a huge problem for the 2016 CAF Champions League winners.

Manager Walid Regragui earlier expressed concerns about the missing of his top players as Morocco played against Guinea Bissue during the break. Six players have been involved in international duty.

WAC foreign-based players Simon Msoua of Tanzania, Muayyad Al-Lafi and Gay Mbenza are yet to reports to the camp.

Accra Hearts of Oak will invite WAC of Morocco on Sunday 17th October 2021 at Accra Sports stadium in the first leg.
