VIDEO: Mohammed Kudus bags hattrick as Jong Ajax trash ADO Den Haag

Ghanaian midfielder Kudus Mohammed was in his elements as he scored a hattrick for Jong Ajax in the Erste Division on Monday.

The attacking midfielder who got injured for several months is stepping up his fitness and played for the Ajax team B in the 6-3 defeat of ADO Den Haag at the Johan Cruyff training center.

He started the game and played the entire duration as it was his first 90 minutes since returning from an injury he sustained whiles playing for Ghana in November against South Africa in the 2022 World Cup qualifier last group game.

The Ghanaian started the rout as he scored the opener 18 minutes into the game as he rifled into the bottom left corner from close range to make it 1-0.

Kudus added the second goal after he converted from the spot into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 .

The former Nordsjaelland midfielder completed his hattrick after Naci Ünüvar threaded through a nice pass for Kudus to make it 5-3.

Danilo scored on goal before Naci Ünüvar grabbed a brace for Jong Ajax to make it 6-3.

Ricardo Kishna, Thomas Verheydt and Sem Steijn scored the three goals for ADO Den Haag in what was a goal-fest.

Kudus has five goals in two matches in the Eerste Divisie after returning from injury.

Aduana Stars defender Emmanuel Akuoko tips in-form Bright Adjei for Black Stars call up

Aduana Stars defender Emmanuel Akuoko has called for his teammate Bright Adjei to be handed a Black Stars call up following his impressive form.

The striker is the leading Ghanaian top scorer in the Ghana Premier League having scored 12 goals in 18 matches so far this season.

Kotoko’s Frank Mbella Etouga is the only player to have scored more goals having 13 one more than the Aduana Stars striker.

Adjei has scored six goals in his last three matches grabbing the winner for Aduana Stars against King Faisal on Sunday.

In a Facebook post after the game, Emmanuel Akuako backed Bright Adjei to be handed a call-up to the Ghana national team for the upcoming clash against Nigeria in the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“You too deserved a national team call up Bright Adjei,” a post on the Facebook page of the defender read.

Bright Adjei has featured in 18 matches for Aduana Stars and now has 12 goals in the league.

Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has named a strong squad for their match-day 19 fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League against Bechem United on Tuesday afternoon at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Kotoko will be hoping to secure a win on the afternoon after missing the President’s Cup on Friday against Hearts Of Oak.

Isaac Opoku and Clinton Opoku are still out of the squad as they are still nursing injuries.

Bechem United coach Kassim Mingle has indicated that Asante Kotoko Cameroonian striker Etuoga Mbella Franck Thierry does not poses any threat ahead of match-day 19 encounter of the Ghana Premier League at the Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem.

The 20-year-old has had an impressive start to life in Ghana’s top-flight as he currently leads the topscorer’s chart with 13 goals.

But Kassim believes Etouga Mbella has been struggling to find his feet in away matches for Kotoko and his poor away run will continue when he makes a trip to Bechem.

“On Friday, Kotoko played against Hearts of Oak and they couldn’t surprise Hearts of Oak, so definitely the same thing is going to happen at our home grounds,” Kassim said as quoted by Ashesgyamera.com

“Etouga Mbella and Mfegue played against Hearts of Oak and we couldn’t see them in the game. Even for Etouga, he only scores goals in their home at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

“Ia wayay matches, he can’t score goals. You watch the statistics you will see that all the goals he has scored this season were all in Kumasi. So it’s going to continue, yesterday they played they couldn’t score. It’s going to continue like that,” he added.

Etouga has netted 11 of his 13 goals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Kotoko lead the Premier League log with 40 points, ten points better than Bechem who sit fourth on the log.

English-born striker Antoine Semenyo earns debut Black Stars call-up ahead of Nigeria clash

English-born Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo is reported to have earned a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the crucial 2022 Fifa World Cup playoff against Nigeria this month.

The hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association is believed to have had a successful discussion with the Bristol City attacker ahead of the all-important clash.

Semenyo, 22, has been in some scintillating form since December last year. His imperious form since December saw him win the Player of the month award in January in the English Championship.

According to a report filed by Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, Semenyo is set to earn his maiden call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup final eliminator.

The Black Stars are hoping to redeem their image following their shambolic display at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad in course of the week for the all-important clash with Nigeria.

Swiss-based striker Kwadwo Duah rejects chance to play for Black Stars ahead of World Cup playoffs against Nigeria

English-born player of Ghanaian descent Kwadwo Duah is reported to have rejected a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

footy.ghpush.com/ understands that, the St.Gallen forward has been contacted by the  Ghana Football Association to switch nationality and play for the four-time Africa champions.

But the Swiss-based striker has rejected the opportunity and wants to focus on playing for Switzerland.

Kwadwo Duah, 24, was born in London, England, and moved to Switzerland at a young age. He is of Ghanaian descent, and holds dual citizenship with Ghana and Switzerland.

Kwadwo Duah was born in London to Ghanaian parents and moved to Switzerland when he was a kid.

He has had a good season with St.Gallen scoring 10 goals in 24 appearances.

Ghana play Nigeria on March 25, 2022 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the first leg before  playing the second  leg on March 29,2022 in Abuja.

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Maxwell Baakoh joins Sahab Sporting Club

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Maxwell Baakoh has signed a contract with Jordanian top-flight club Sahab Sporting Club.

The deal was completed on Sunday with the club delighted to have added the talented player to their ranks ahead of the commencement of the Jordan Premier League.

Baakoh last played for Ceramica Cleopatra in the Egyptian Premier League.


Before his move to the North African country, Baako was impressive at Asante Kotoko.

He helped the Ghanaian giants reach the knockout phase of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019.

The Jordan league gets underway in April and Baakoh is expected to play an important role for Sahab who have set an ambitious target of winning the championship.

Accra Lions were held to a pulsating goalless draw by city rivals Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in match-day 19 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Premier League debutants played a 0-0 draw on home turf to the Dade boys.

The game seems to be balanced in both halves resulting in a stalemate despite creating scoring opportunities.

Accra Lions hoped to win after sharing the spoils last week against Elmina Sharks at away but Olympics proved to be a tough side.

The draw leaves Accra Lions in the 15th position with 21 points whereas Olympics moves from the 2nd spot to 3rd following Aduana Stars 1-0 win over King Faisal.

Accra Lions have won just one of their last five matches with Olympics winning three from their last five games.

Bibiani Gold Stars moved up the Ghana Premier League log after Week 19 following their narrow home win against Medeama SC on Independence Day.

Dreams FC returned to winning ways after a 2-0 victory against bottom-club Elmina Sharks at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Sunday, 6 March 2022.

The Greens scored in either half to get their season back on track after last week’s defeat to Asante Kotoko.

In the 20th minute, Ali Huzaif jumped high to connect Mohammed Abubakar’s cross from the left but the Elmina goalkeeper kept it out.

Five minutes later, there was a Dreams FC appeal for a penalty after the ball struck the hand of Karela United player but the referee ignored the appeals.

Agyenim Boateng connected Issah Ibrahim’s corner straight into the top right corner but the goalkeeper managed to keep the ball out of goal.

But the striker was not denied before the halftime when he slotted home from close range after Ali Huzaif went on a solo run to set him up.

On 55 minutes, Victor Oduro missed a glorious opportunity when his connection on Agyenim Boateng’s cross missed the goalposts by a whisker.

Ten minutes from time, Dreams doubled their lead when left-back Issah Ibrahim found the back of the net with a fulminating header.
