Ghana Football Association (GFA) are set to charge Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Akambi for his allegations against referee Joseph Kennedy Padi who was the middle man during the super clash last Sunday.

Referee Kennedy Padi pointed to the spot after adjudging Nurudeen Abdul-Aziz to have fouled Gama in the box which was converted by Franck Mbella Etouga.

After the game, Alhaji Akambi teared into the referee where he sees him as the devil incarnate who came with the mindset of cheating the Rainbow club. He told Akwaaba Radio in Berekum in an interview.

“He is a devil. That referee is a devil and should be ashamed of himself on his performance yesterday, genuinely he came with a scoreline in his pocket.”

“We have only one truth and then we have to say it as it is. I had a call from some countries like America, Canada, London after the game What’s wrong with the referee?”

“He came with a mindset. What’s he telling people? He was sitting like an angel during the pre-match as if he cannot talk but not knowing he was having a mindset whilst we were thinking about the beauty of the game. He knows what he was thinking about, and might even see us as a fools.” He angrily ended

However, Saddick Adams (Sports Obama) reports that Alhaji Akambi will be charged for his words against Kenny Padi which in the opinion of the association is improper behavior and likely to bring the game into disrepute.

He could be slapped with a hefty fine or a ban if he is not able to justify his comments before the Ghana FA’s Ethics Committee.

Asante Kotoko have been dealt with another injury blow as Justice Blay is reportedly out of the season.

The player sustained a niggling injury during Asante Kotoko’s slim win over city rivals King Faisal where he was deployed as a centre-back in the absence of Ganiyu and Appau.

The 29-year-old recovered and was in line to start against Hearts of Oak last Sunday but suffered a setback in a warm-up session at the Baba Yara Stadium.

According to multiple reports, Blay will undergo surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. The reports further stated that he has been advised not to part part in the rest of the matches.

Blay has featured in seven games for the Porcupines since his return to the club from Medeama in the second round of the season.

Francis Andy Kumi and teenage goalkeeper Abdul Rafiu Yakubu are already in the treatment room for Asante Kotoko together with Abdul Ganiyu, Richmond Lamptey and Andrews Appau.

Last week, Isaac Oppong was also ruled out of the remainder of the season to undergo surgery on his knee.

The Porcupines who are leading the league log are left with 10 games to end the season.

Hearts of Oak has filed a protest to the Ghana FA against referee Kennedy Padi over the ‘controversial penalty’ awarded to Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League match-day 24 in Kumasi on Sunday.

The Phobian club wants the GFA Review Committee to re-examine the penalty decision and take immediate action against Referee Padi to deter other match officials from exercising poor discretion in decision making during games.

Hearts of Oak’s painful 0-1 loss to leaders Asante Kotoko in Kumasi, means the points gap between the sworn rivals on the log sheet has now stretched to 16, with ten games to end the season.

The narrow defeat has reduced Hearts of Oak’s chances of defending the GPL title, forcing Coach Samuel Boadu to admit he would be pursuing a Top 4 finish and an MTN FA Cup crown retention.
