Karela United defender, Augustine Randolph has popped up on the radar of Ghana Premier League clubs, Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM have reported.

The young and enterprising defender was sensational for Karela United during the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

Randolf played a vital role as Bismark Kobby Mensah’s side finished 4th on the league log.

However, ahead of the 2022/23 Ghana football season, Asante Kotoko, who represents the country in the CAF Champions League have expressed their interest in the 21-year-old.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak, who will also represent the country in the Confederations Cup have also confirmed their interest in the defender.

Meanwhile, two-time Ghana Premier League champions, Aduana Stars have joined the race to sign Randolf.

Randolf played for Bechem United before moving to Karela United. He played 10 league matches in the 2019–20 Ghana Premier League season.

The talented right full-back is currently a member of Ghana’s Black Galaxies team who are involved in the 2023 CHAN qualifiers.

In September 2020, he signed a 3-year deal with Western Region-based club Karela United ahead of the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League season.

Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have decided to name its new stands at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park after former player Augustine Okrah.

Okrah recently secured a move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC after explosive campaign with Bechem united in the Ghana Premier League.

He signed signed a two-year contract with the Lions of Msimbazi, keeping him at the club until 2024.

The 28-year-old returned to Bechem at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign after parting ways with Asante Kotoko SC.

He was instrumental for the Hunters last season since he rejoined them where he has scored 14 goals in 32 matches in the Ghana Premier League with Bechem finishing at the 3rd position, the club’s best position in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Having sacrificed during his stints with Bechem United, the club has decided to honour him by naming its new stands after the player.

“Okrah has had two impressive spells with the club so the founder of the club wants to honour the winger.

All the transfer fee from the sale of Okrah to Simba will go into the construction of the new stands and it will be named after player, “Okrah Stands”. The Team Manager of the club, Emmanuel Amoah Gyanpah told Angel TV.

Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko are on the verge of recruiting Burkina Faso national team coach, Kamou Malo as new head coach.

Malo will come in as a replacement for Prosper Narteh Ogum who is on his away out after falling out with the management of the club.

Sources say Ogum has decided not to continue his marriage with the Porcupines despite the Board’s determination to keep after winning the Premier League in his first season.

The club in a move has identified the 60-year-old as an ideal replacement for Ogum with Pure Fm reporting that Kotoko are willing to pay $6000 to the coach as a monthly salary.

Malo who’s a Police Officer by profession guided the Stallions of Burkina Faso to a fourth-placed finish in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

He was twice Burkina Faso champion with Rail Club Kadiogo (2016, 2017).

After failing to sign him in the last two seasons, Asante Kotoko have now signed Steven Dese Mukwala after ending his stay with Ugandan Revenue Authority SC (URA).

The Porcupines have reached an agreement with the 23-year-old forward, with the Ugandan flying to Ghana next month to pen a two-year deal with the Reds.

Steven Dese Mukwala has been a top target for the Porcupines for the last two seasons but a deal couldn’t be struck due to differences in fees.

Kotoko, this season returned to the negotiations table with the goal scoring machine as the search for a quality striker to replace Franck Mbella who will leave the club continues.

Mukwala who currently plies his trade at Uganda Revenue Authority SC (URA) have now completed his move to the Kumasi-based club after an agreement was reached between the two clubs few days ago.

The 23-year-old highly rated striker spent the 2019-20 season at Maroons FC where he was crowned top scorer of the Uganda Premier League. He netted 13 goals in 23 appearances to emerge goal king of the 2019/2020 campaign while on loan from Vipers SC.

After the failed move to Ghana, Mukwala joined URA after leaving Vipers.

In his first season at the URA, the prolific attacker finished the 2020-21 campaign as the club’s top scorer with 14 goals in 24 matches and third on the goal king chart in Uganda.

In the just-ended season, Dese netted 13 goals in the Ugandan Premier League for URA FC, finishing as the club’s second top scorer of the season.

Mukwala made his competitive debut for the Uganda national team on 6 September 2021 when the Cranes played Mali in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Former Asante Kotoko management member Yamoah Afrifa Ponko has expressed his displeasure about the rate at which coaches resign or get sacked at the club under the current Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions has been in the news since last week following the verbal resignation of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Reports went rife that, the former WAFA coach has relinquished his position after meeting the technical committee of the Board of Directors.

Member Kofi Amoah-Abban, on Sunday exposed the cracks in the Asante Kotoko board by openly calling for the dismissal of league-winning coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The business mogul is at variance with an earlier communique from the board of directors which scuttled media reports the University lecturer has stepped down.

He also called for support for the club’s CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah.

‘Asante Kotoko is under the Stewardship of a great Management Team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.

”The success on and off the pitch last season is testament to this fact. THE COACH SHOULD BE FIRED. No one is bigger than the Club. Asante Kotoko remains Supreme….”

Ogum is reported to have fallen with the Kotoko management and verbally announced his decision to quit and that was confirmed by the club’s administrator Emmanuel Dasoberi.

Since assuming office as the CEO of Kotoko, the former Ghana FA Presidential candidate has worked with as many as four coaches in his three-year mandate.

He parted ways with Maxwell Konadu, Johnson Smith and Mariano Barreto with Prosper Narteh likely to exit the club ahead of the new season.

In an interview with Asempa FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Kotoko management member called on Nana Yaw Amponsah to come out openly and explain the recent happenings between management and the coach.

“Nana Yaw Amponsah should come out and explain what’s going on between management and Coach Ogum. This isn’t a Board matter. Why does he always sack coaches or you hear a coach wants to resign? Is he not accommodative?”
