Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of defender Konadu Yiadom in the ongoing transfer window.
The 22-year-old highly-rated centre-back was on the wishlist of Aduana Stars and the Dormaa-based club offered an improved bid but Yiadom chose the Phobians.
Yiadom is expected to partner Mohammed Alhassan who also has a similar game style as the duo were all nurtured by WAFA
The former WAFA SC captain who had a stellar season with the Academy Boys has penned down a 3-year deal and will be with the club until 2025.
The enterprising centre-back came close to joining Hearts mid-way during last season but the deal hit a snag.
He becomes the fifth signing of Hearts of Oak after Zakaria Yakubu, William Bumekpor, Junior Kaaba and Eric byOfori Antwi.
Hearts of Oak have already commenced pre-season training for the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup campaign and the Ghana Premier League season which will start next week.
Former Asante Kotoko trainer, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, paid a courtesy visit to the current team at the Adjiringanor Park in Accra, where they are holding the first phase of their preseason ahead of the 2022/23 football season.
The Black Stars assistant coach, who guided Kotoko to a double in 2014, went there to encourage the players to maintain their momentum as they hope to retain the league title and perform creditably in their African campaign.
After a mini conference with the technical team, Dramani had a word with the entire players, calling on them to put in their all for the new season.

Prosper Narteh Ogum has updated his Twitter biography to announce his decision to leave his role as Head Coach of Asante Kotoko.
Last month, Ogum through a zoom meeting took the decision to leave Asante Kotoko. Per reports, he resigned due to a misunderstanding between himself and the management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.
Following the decision which sent shock waves throughout the country, the board members of Asante Kotoko held numerous meetings with Ogum with the aim of convincing him to rescind his decision. However, that didn’t materialize.
In the latest development, Ogum has announced that he has left his role at the club, updating his Twitter Biography as the former Head Coach of Asante Kotoko.
Per a report from Oyerepa FM, the former WAFA manager officially tendered in his resignation letter earlier today and official announcement is expected to be made by the close of the day.
The reports adds that Ogum has received all unpaid bonuses and salaries. The 44-year old will also receive a huge bonus for helping the club win its first Ghana Premier League title since 2014.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw for the qualifiers of the TotalEnergies U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2023 will take place on Thursday 18 August 2022 at 11:00 GMT.
The U23 AFCON is scheduled to take place in Morocco in June 2023. The competition will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics to take place in Paris.
39 countries will participate in the AFCON qualifiers. Morocco are automatically qualified as hosts and will be joined by 7 other countries for the tournament next year.
Ghana together with 17 other countries have been exempted from participating in the first round of the qualifiers for the AFCON.
The other countries are Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Sudan, Uganda, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, South Africa and Zambia.
20 least ranked countries will be involved in the first round, with the 10 teams qualified from the round joining the 18 teams exempted from the 1st round in a knockout phase to produce 14 qualified teams who would move to the next round.
The 14 teams qualified from the 2nd round will play the 3rd round (knock out from home & away matches), with the winners securing a place at next year’s AFCON.
The first round of the qualifiers are scheduled for September, 19 to 27. The second round October 21 to 30 and the third round March, 20 to 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Akrobeto, whose real name is Akwasi Boadi, has gone global.
He has become an internet sensation across the world after going viral several times with his comic programme ‘Real News’.
The Kumawood actor and comedian presents the parody news show on United Television (UTV) once every week.
Although the programme centres on a funny way of presenting hard news, its clips have been featured by several clubs in Europe.
Last year, Akrobeto went viral after featuring in a fixture announcement video of Russian side Spartak Moscow. The club used a funny video of the comic actor to announce the fixtures for the 2021/22 Russian Premier League.
In the said video, Akrobeto, rather predictably, applies humour and satire in mispronouncing the names of the Russian teams.
This came just days after German side Augsburg also featured him in a video announcing the Bundesliga schedule for the season.
In May, Akrobeto again went global after he was unveiled by Borussia Dortmund as the club’s newest super fan ahead of their legends game in Ghana.

After several exchanges and fluffed opportunities, Afoakwa snatched Kotoko’s 4th goal with a wonderful finish from Augustine Agyapong’s cross.
