The much-awaited minimum wages for Professional footballers in the country is expected to take off from next season.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku says there have been some discussions with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana regarding the smooth implementation of the policy.
‘’Beyond the introduction of the standard player contact, we have also been discussing the introduction of minimum wages for professional players in this country,’’ President Simeon-Okraku said during the dinner with the Legends event on Saturday.
‘’Again, in my visit to the PFAG, we discussed this policy. This policy will go through the internal process and God willing next season, we should introduce minimum player salaries for professional players in this country’’.
I understand that there is an insurance scheme for Ex players of our national teams led by the PFAG. We would explore the possibility of ensuring that we have a 100% coverage on health issues for our players’’ he added.

” If care is not taking and Togbe Afede XIV move from hearts of oak,the gospel truth is that, the club will turn to venom vipers and cornerstone ” he said.
” So I will urge the supporters to support the club and the board and rally behind the club in prayers ” he told service radio.
Hearts of Oak is considering to make another bid for Accra Great Olympics midfielder Dynamo Razak Kassim.
Kassim was the main transfer target for the Phobians during the transfer window but failed to reach agreement with Olympics.
The hardworking midfielder is yet to sign a new contract with Accra Great Olympics with just a month left on his contract.
After failing to secure his signature during the transfer window, the Phobians will do everything to sign the player in the January transfer.

Asante Kotoko striker Steven Dese Mukwala has expressed his happiness after scoring his first competitive goal for the club in their 3-0 win over King Faisal on match week four of the Ghana Premier League on Monday.
The Uganda international was adjudged Man of the Match following his impressive display for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
The win lifts Kotoko to 5th spot while King Faisal remain at the bottom after four consecutive defeats.
Mukwala opened the scoring for Kotoko in the 11th minute of the game.
He was involved in the second goal as he was fouled in the box 17 by King Faisal goalkeeper Abdul Jabal in the 28th minute. The referee pointed to the spot and captain Richard Boadu expertly converted to double Kotoko’s lead.
After the break, goalscorer Mukwala turned provider. He assisted Nicholas Mensah’s goal in the 46th minute.
King Faisal dropped deep to prevent the Porcupine Warriors from doing more damage.
Asante Kotoko will take on Bechem United on match week five of the Ghana Premier League.
Mukwala has made three appearances, scored one goal and provided two assists for Asante Kotoko in the league this season.

Asante Kotoko on Monday night at the Baba Yara Stadium defeated struggling King Faisal 3-0 in the Kumasi derby.
Faisal hosted the Porcupines in a matchday four encounter of the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Just eleven minutes into the game, the visitors took the lead through a strike from Ugandan international Steven Mukwala for his debut league goal.
Despite the efforts from King Faisal players to get back into the game, the side failed to find the back of the Porcupines net with Richard Boadu netting Kotoko’s second from the spot in the 28th-minute after Mukwala was brought down by the Faisal keeper to end the first half two goals up.
Kotoko’s dominance was confirmed early in the second half, as Mukwala again teed up Nicholas Mensah to score the third to put the contest out of reach.
The win sends the defending champions to the fourth position with 7 points from four games while King Faisal sit on the 18th position with no point.
Tamale City and Real Tamale United shared the spoils in the Ghana Premier League’s first meeting between the Northern region rivals at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
The two teams have met several times in the past, but never in Ghana’s top flight, so Monday’s meeting was historic, and they provided fans with an exciting game, but there was no winner.
Real Tamale United took the lead after 42 minutes thanks to midfielder Baba Kushibo, but Tamale City equalised just before halftime.
Tamale City’s goal was scored by forward Isaac Mensah, who converted from the penalty spot.
The 1-1 draw means that both teams have yet to win this season and will remain in the relegation zone.
FC Samartex were unable to make use of the home crowd behind them in their first match at the Nsekyire Sports Arena when they drew with Great Olympics on Monday afternoon.
