Ghana will take on Switzerland in a pre-World Cup friendly in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, November 17, 2022. The match which will be played at Baniyas club stadium will give the teams an opportunity to assess their strength going into the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals in Doha.
Ghana will compete with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group H whiles Switzerland face Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia in Group G.
The Black Stars will begin training on Tuesday, November 15, for the two assignments – International friendly against Switzerland as well as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals in Doha.
The match will give Coach Otto Addo and the technical team a perfect opponent for the Group H opener against Portugal at the 974 stadium in Rass Abou Aboud – Doha.
The friendly against Switzerland will complete the calendar of the Black Stars – going into the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.
The Black Stars have begun camping in Abu Dhabi ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals. The team will stay in the capital of the United Arab Emirates for four days where they will play an International friendly against Switzerland at the Baniyas club stadium on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
Twenty-three players have reported to camp at the moment with the rest expected to arrive Tuesday afternoon.
They include, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Danlad Ibrahim, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Nurudeen Abdul Manaf, Mohammed Salisu, Daniel Amartey, Denis Odoi, Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, Salis Abdul Samed, Elisha Owusu, Kamal Sowah, Antoine Semenyo, Tariq Lamptey, Osman Bukari, Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Daniel Barnieh Afriyie, Mohammed Kudus, and Daniel Kofi Kyereh.
Joseph Aidoo, Alexander Djiku and Kamal Deen Sulemana are expected to team up with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.
The Black Stars will train on Tuesday evening in preparation for the friendly against Switzerland on Thursday.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have been tight lipped on the situation with the Ghana U-20 since their failed 2022 AFCON campaign under Coach Karim Zito, which means their failure to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for 2023 in Indonesia.
The GFA are yet to oust a communique after the failed AFCON campaign by the Black Satellites under current Head Coach Karim Zito who had failed to live up to his previous glory with the same team some two years ago. As this has had to be something to be done long before now for the people to know on the direction the FA seeks to go on subsequent international campaigns under the Black Satellites umbrella.
After the recent failed campaign under the current technical team it is legible for a new turn under a new technical team to take lead of the Black Satellites ( Ghana U-20 National Teams ) onto upcoming football events for the Ghana U-20 to be able to prepare very well to face the challenges ahead of those campaigns.
The GFA should have a thorough revamp of the technical team mostly with new set of trainers who have got the experience to lead Ghana pivotal youth development pathway to produce the required results and bring back the glory days of the Ghana U-20 to continue to give adequate opportunities for young football talents in the country and produce good football talents for the senior soccer team the Blackstars of Ghana.
There has been some speculations in the media linking past coaches to the the Ghana U-20 job and new coaching faces as well with more sights on current Accra Great Olympics Head Coach Yaw Preko to be back at the job to continue the build up he was on until he was replaced by Karim Zito which led to the Ghana U-20 winning the U-20 AFCON in 2020, the former Ghana national team striker has had some good experience coaching the youth and his understanding of the game comes in handy and it is viewed in how he has transformed his young Great Olympics side to compete against the odds currently the team to beat in the Ghana Premier League and still only unbeaten team this season.
With former Ghana winger Laryea Kingston in sights for the role and could more suitably be an assistant to the experienced Yaw Preko who has had past experiences with the youth national teams. With Kingston who has been on the books of famous youth development academy Right to Dream and being in charge of the U-17 team chopping some good success at international level in recent competitions and his experience working with youth players would put him in good sights for the role.
The Black Satellites requires a new turn and the changes needs to be done now to put the new technical team in pole position to have adequate time to put a formidable team together for the Black Satellites and be ready for impending competitions that may be ahead of Ghana in the U-20 category.

Some Accra Hearts of Oak fans were spotted angry at Hearts striker Junior Kaba after their match-day 6 drawn game to Karela FC at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
Following their goalless draw with favourites Karela FC, fans of Accra Hearts of Oak registered their displeasure over the performance of the team.
Hearts were poor in the first half with a slight improvement in the second half but the tactically disciplined Karela FC side went away with a point.
“Junior has disappointed us woefully we don’t need him in the club again he needs to leave as soon as possible,” some fans said.
This for some of the fans is not acceptable especially when their rivals Asante Kotoko are winning week in week out.
Hearts of Oak were held to a scoreless draw by Karela United in their Ghana Premier League match-week six fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Miss Comfort Akosua Konadu has been left with tears of joy after learning of the latest feat from her beloved son.
Your go-to football resource broke the news of Barnieh’s participation last week, and coach Otto Addo later confirmed it when he revealed his 26-man squad at a press conference in Accra on Monday.
And his inclusion has caused joy to spread across the nation, even including his mother.

Barnieh has been named as one of the Black Stars’ midfielders for the tournament, which begins on November 20.
He will leave Ghana with other Football Association officials on Monday evening for the training camp in Abu Dhabi.
Barnieh, a member of the Ghana U20 squad that won the Mauritania Africa Cup of Nations in 2021, has been one of the best players in the Ghana Premier League in recent years.
He was drafted into the Black Stars after the tournament in Mauritania and has worked hard to earn a spot for his first tournament with the senior national team. He was Black Galaxies’ best player as they qualified for the 2023 African Nations Championship.
The 21-year-old has made two appearances for the Black Stars and would be hoping to add to it in Qatar.
Ghana will play Switzerland in their final pre-tournament friendly before the World Cup begins on November 24 against Portugal.
They will play South Korea four days later before concluding their group stage campaign on December 2 against Uruguay.

With 10 days away from the team’s first group game of the tournament against Portugal on November 24, Addo has revealed his players for the Mundial.
Only two players from Ghana’s final list have played at the previous editions of the World Cup – Andre Ayew (2010 and 2014) and Jordan Ayew (2014).
The squad also have two players from recent players who made themselves available for selection at the end of the 2021/22 season.

A pair of first-half goals from Frederick Boateng were enough as Nsoatreman FC beat Dreams FC 2-1 in a 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 6 encounter at Nana Amoah Koramansah II Park on Sunday.
The newcomers had come into the match carrying defeat from their last game away to Accra Lions but were high on confidence of at least protecting their perfect home record as the Still Believers came visiting.
Dreams had started the campaign so well winning their opening two matches but they have since picked only a point from their three subsequent games.
Nsoatreman clarified their intentions quite early and emphasized it with the match opener which came via a penalty won by playmaker Baba Mahama and converted by Frederick Boateng in the 27th minute.
The former Inter Allies and Asante Kotoko striker’s second came just a minute into first-half added time, giving the hosts a 2-0 advantage.
Attacker Ishmael Dede pulled one back for Dreams with a brilliant finish in the 76th minute.
Nsoatreman had to hold off a Dreams fightback to make it 3 wins out of three at home so far.
The 2-1 victory takes Nsoatreman to 6th on the GPL table with 10 points, 3 more than Dreams who drop further to 12th.
The Ghana Premier League will be paused for the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup after match-day 7 games are honoured on Wednesday, November 16.
Nsoatreman will travel up north to renew their rivalry with fellow debutants Tamale City while Dreams host Bechem United.
