Karela United defeated Asante Kotoko 1-0 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park to move out of the relegation zone.

The first half of the game saw no goals but wasn’t short of chances. Both teams came close to scoring but Asante Kotoko came the closest, Enoch Morrison struck the post with an effort from outside the box in the 24th minute.

Karela United broke the deadlock in the 59th minute, Samuel Attah Kumi scored the goal from a penalty kick.

The remaining minutes of the game saw both teams create chances but failed to put the ball at the back of the net as it ended 1-0.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra Lions defeated Great Olympics 3-0 to move into 3rd place. Lions opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Abass Samari Salifu, before Jacob Mensah scored in the 42nd and 51st minute to wrap up the win. Later in the game, Lions were reduced to 10 men, Jacob Mensah was shown a straight red.

In other results, Accra Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities played out a scoreless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In Dawu, Richard Danso scored for Aduana FC in the 6th minute and as well received a late red card in a 1-0 win against Dreams FC.

Kotoku Royals defeated Bibiani GoldStars 3-2 to record only their 3rd win of the season. Francis Andy Kumi scored a brace and Richard Dzikoe scored the other goal for Kotoku Royals. Ibrabim Laar and Abednego Tetteh scored for GoldStars.

At the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Samartex and Tamale City played out a scoreless draw.

In Kumasi, Medeama came from a goal down to beat King Faisal 3-2. Nurudeen Abdulai, Vincent Atingah and Kwasi Donsu scored for Medeama, while Abdul Latif and Joseph Gordon scored for King Faisal.

Nsoatreman bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 win against Berekum Chelsea. Stephen Diyou and Kwabena Kalala Dannful scored for Nsoatreman in the 50th and 52nd minute respectively, before Mezack Afriyie scored for Chelsea in the 59th minute.

In Bechem, Bechem United thrashed Real Tamale United (RTU) 6-2. Bechem went 4-0 up in the first half through a goal from Isaiah Nyarko and a hattrick from Hafiz Konkoni. In the second half, Mohammed Sadat and Mustapha Fuseini reduced the deficit to 4-2, but Bechem United scored two goals later on through Clinton Doudu.

The Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fined Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Seydou Zerbo for misconduct after his outfit’s betPawa Premier League clash against Bechem United earlier this season.

Bechem United and Asante Kotoko clashed at the Nana Gyeabor Park on Wednesday, November 3, 2022 in an outstanding Gameweek 2 fixture. The hunters won the game 2-0 courtesy goals from Kofi Agbesimah and Emmanuel Avornyo in either half.

After the game, Coach Seydou Zerbo who was dissatisfied with the performance of the center referee confronted him in a manner which was portrayed as aggressive.

The actions of the Burkinabe Coach was found as a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations by the Disciplinary.

Consequently, he was slapped with a Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc2,000.00) fine and as well warned that any future misconduct may result in a more severe punishment.

Meanwhile, Head Coach of Division One side Vision, Vladislav Viric has been fined One Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc1,000.00) for verbally assaulting a referee.

Division One side Swedru All Blacks have also been fined Three Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc3,000.00) for throwing projectiles onto the field in a league game against Future Stars.

Asante Kotoko Ivorian star Serge Eric Zeze has issued a rally call to their fans ahead of the Ghana Premier League clash today against Karela United.

The defending league champions play as guest to Aiyinase based side this afternoon at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

In a tweet earlier today, Zeze said, supporters should be with them ahead of this afternoon cracker.

“Another game today!! Be with us and support us our supporters”

Kotoko will be hoping to get a win against struggling Karela United this afternoon.

Karela United defender Emmanuel Anaful has assured the fans of victory against Asante Kotoko as the two sides face off today.

Asante Kotoko head into the game with a win from their previous game against Real Tamale United whilst Karela United lost to Great Olympics.

The “Passioners” have been unimpressive this season and are hoping to get a good result against the Porcupine Warriors in this fixture.

Speaking ahead of the big game, Anaful said, “It’s not going to be an easy game against Asante Kotoko”, he told West End Radio.

“We have corrected our mistakes against Great Olympics ahead of this game. We are not going to disappoint our supporters and we ask them to support us in prayers and we will not disappoint them. We will beat Asante Kotoko”.he added.

The game comes off at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park today.

Great Olympics is placed 16th on the league log with 16points.

Karela United FC coach Shaibu Tanko is confident of victory against Asante Kotoko.

The Pride of the West will host Kotoko this afternoon at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in their match week 15 fixture.

According to Coach Tanko, the Porcupine Warriors are a real test in his first match in charge of Karela United.

“Nowhere cool, everywhere is difficult except you know how to handle these difficulties. Kotoko is a big club by all standards but on the field of play, it is between us and we are looking first to it,” he said on Happy FM.

Meanwhile, the former RTU trainer has set sights on helping Karela United survive relegation.

“The club and I are putting in the necessary structures to first and foremost escape relation. That is our first objective and we will try to attain it within the shortest possible time of my contract” he added.

Karela United are 16th on the table with 16 points after 14 matches.

Hearts of Oak failed to beat Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day 15 in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

Legon Cities Coach Maxwell Konadu maintained his unbeaten record against Hearts of Oak in all competitions as the game ended in a goalless draw.

The Phobians were very disappointing as they failed to beat a 10-man Legon Cities team.

Legon Cities had the first chance at goal from a Eric Osei Bonsu free kick which hit the woodwork in the 29th minute.

In the 39th minute referee Maxwell Hanson failed to send off Eric Osei Bonsu, who deserved a red card for a dangerous high boot against Eric Esso.

Hearts of Oak also came close to scoring from a Linda Ntange free kick.

The two teams went into the break with both side unable to find the back of the net.

After recess, Legon Cities were reduced to 10-men as Nii Bortey Acquaye was sent off following a foul on Clinton Appiah.

Enock Asubonteng nearly snatched the win for Hearts of Oak but his effort hit the woodwork in the 90th minute.

Despite 11 minutes of additional time, Hearts of Oak failed to beat Legon Cities.

Hafiz Konkoni scored a first-half hat-trick as Bechem United secured a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Real Tamale United in a highly entertaining match at the Nana Gyeabour Park on Wednesday.  

The hosts dominated the game from start to finish and were never really in any danger of losing.

The first half was an open and entertaining affair with both sides looking to take control of the game. Bechem United started brightly and took the lead after 30 minutes when their midfielder Isaiah Nyarko put the ball in the net.

The goal boosted Bechem United’s confidence, as Hafiz Konkoni scored a brace in two minutes to increase the lead to three-nil. Just before halftime, the striker scored his third goal.

Real Tamale United came back strongly in the second half, cutting the deficit to two goals thanks to goals from Mohammed Sadat and Mustapha Fuseini.

However, Bechem United regained control and scored two goals, thanks to Clinton Doudu’s brace, to seal an impressive 6-2 victory for the Hunters in front of a boisterous crowd.

The result sees Bechem United move up to second place in the league table and puts them in a strong position to challenge for the title this season.

RTU remain in the top half despite the heavy defeat.
