Manchester City has reached an agreement to finalize the acquisition of Jeremy Doku, the winger from Stade Rennais, as confirmed by the reputable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, personally engaged in discussions with the 21-year-old player regarding his impending transfer. Doku has already come to terms on personal conditions for a long-term contract with the triple-winning team.

A series of medical examinations are set to take place later this week, according to the report.

The intention behind recruiting Doku is to fill the void left by Riyad Mahrez, who made a significant move to the Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal earlier in the current transfer window.

During the illustrious 2022-23 season, Mahrez delivered an impressive performance for Man City, contributing 15 goals and 13 assists across 47 matches.

Similar to the Algerian international, Doku occupies the right flank for Stade Rennais and has showcased remarkable potential since his breakthrough into the scene.

In the opening fixture of the Ligue 1 season, the young talent marked his presence by scoring a goal against Metz. However, he was a substitute in the game against Lens on August 20th, preceding his imminent transfer.

In the previous season, the quick and agile winger registered seven goals and four assists in 35 club appearances.

Doku’s contractual commitment extends until June 2025, having initially joined from Anderlecht in 2020.

He is a regular player for the Belgium national team, and his notable performances during Euro 2020 propelled him into the limelight. He has secured two goals in 14 appearances for the Belgian Red Devils.

In the ongoing season, Manchester City has secured victories in their initial two Premier League matches against Burnley and Newcastle.

Furthermore, the team clinched the UEFA Super Cup recently by triumphing over Sevilla in a penalty shootout.

Ghana attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been named in the Dutch Eredivisie Team-Of-The-Week for the second week of the competition.

The 23-year-old after scoring in the team’s first game contributed massively in the second game over the weekend as Ajax drew 2-2 with Excelsior. The midfielder fought hard to help his team come from a goal down to settle for a draw in the crucial encounter.

He picked the ball up in the 72nd minute and swung in a cross that had former Werder Bremen player Davy Klaassen converting it to make it 2-2.

Before the goal, Ajax had initially taken the lead through Brian Brobbey in the 25th minute but gave away the lead as Excelsior scored twice through Hormans and Agrafiotis.

Mohammed Kudus has been a key player for the Dutch giants since last season which has triggered the interest of many clubs in the elite European Leagues.

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong scored and assisted in Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga’s opening matches on Saturday.

Jonathan Tah added a second goal for the home team ten minutes after Frimpong’s spectacular right-footed strike that gave Leverkusen the lead in the 24th minute.

Before the interval, Leipzig’s in-form Dani Olmo cut the lead to 2-1 to conclude the first half.

However, in the 64th minute of the game, Frimpong set up Florian Wirtz to give Bayer Leverkusen their two-goal advantage back.

Leverkusen won 3-2 despite a goal by Lois Openda in the 71st minute.

After playing for 78 minutes, the 22-year-old was substituted by Arthur Augusto De Matos Soares.
