Black Stars head coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor says he will welcome Kevin-Prince Boateng back to the team if he passes the requirements for selection.

Boateng was suspended indefinitely during the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil under the tutelage of coach Kwesi Appiah.

He, together with Sulley Muntari were sacked from the camp of the Black Stars for disrespecting the coach.

The former Barcelona and Tottenham midfielder expressed his readiness to return to the senior national team last week in a chat with his brother Jerome Boateng.

Speaking in an interview with Joy FM, Akonnor indicated that he would have to discuss any decision on Boateng with the hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association.

“If Kevin Prince Boateng is availability why not? He has played before, he is experienced but for his issues with the Black Stars.

“I will have to take it up with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) before any such decision will be taken if need be.

“We all know his exit was with many issues and this must be clarified before we consider his return,” Coach Akonnor said.

Chief Executive Officer of Simba SC, Senzo Mazingisa has revealed that the club has put negotiations with former Asante Kotoko forward Songné Yacouba on hold due to lack of transparency from the player’s camp.

Yacouba has been a free agent since leaving the Reds in April after unsuccessful attempts to renew his stay.

Reports were rife that the 28-year-old was close to joining the Tanzanian giants who expressed interest in securing his services.

But Simba SC – who were the first club, among many clubs, to approach Yacouba, have temporarily put negotiations on hold after they were approached by several agents claiming to be the player’s only representative.

“The player has approached us with so many agents each claiming he is the only agent and that is why we have put a stop in our negotiations,” Mazingisa told Mwanaspoti.

Yacouba joined Kotoko from Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou in 2018.

He made 7 appearances for the Porcupine Warriors in the 2019720 Ghana Premier League season before it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former Black Satellites midfielder, Abraham Asiedu Attobrah has refuted media reports that he is in talks with Ebusua Dwarfs over a possible move.

Rumours were rife that the ex-New Edubiase player is in advanced talks with the Cape Coast club for a possible deal as he seeks to return to the field after a long absence.

However, he has rubbished the reports, emphasising that there was no truth in it as there had not been any contact from Dwarfs.

“It is not true that I am in talks with Dwarfs. People should treat that news with a pinch of salt as no one from that club has even contacted me,” Attobrah told the Graphic Sports.

“I am a free player and I am available to join any club. Whoever is interested in me can come forward; if the deal is good to my expectation, I will sign for that club,” he stated.

Attobrah, 25, joined Belgian side, KV Kortrijk from New Edubiase on August, 31, 2015 and spent a year before terminating his contract by mutual consent.

He signed for Iraqi side, Al Shorta in February 2018 after which he joined  Erbil Sporting Club seven months later for a year before deciding not to renew his contract.

Attobrah was part of the Black Stars B team which reached the final of the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa, as well as the Black Satellites side which reached the second round of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

“I cry anytime I see Hearts Of Oak bus” – Ernest Thompson

0

Former Hearts Of Oak board Secretary, Ernest Thompson has voiced out his worry about the sorry state of the team’s ‘death trap’ bus.

The Ghanaian giants have been criticized for using a bus in that state to travel to honour matches in the Ghana Premier League. Players have been captured on camera pushing the team bus before.

Thompson urges the majority shareholder of the club, Togbe Afede XIV to float some shares in order to reduce the financial burden on him.

”Everybody is waiting for Togbe to buy a bus for the team, if the club as a serious entity float shares, will get money and buy bus. Even Pobiman project, we need money to have it done and where is the money?

“Hearts of Oak has a weak financial base and that is what stops the team from going for good players, which is bad,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

“Anytime, I see Hearts of Oak bus I feel like crying because I was involved in purchasing that bus. Why should the club be using such a bus at this time?

“Heart shouldn’t have been using this bus by now and training on poor pitches.”

The hierarchy of the Rainbow Club announced purchasing a 46-searer bus before the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League was suspended.

The club is expected to unveil the new bus which was acquired for the club by their insurance partners – StarLife Assurance.
