Ghana Premier League outfit Asante Kotoko are set to return to Adako Jachie – the club’s training grounds on September 30, 2020 – as the Porcupine Warriors gear up for the upcoming Ghanaian top flight and the CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko, record holders of the Ghanaian top flight used the over six-month wait for football to return to put their house in order with the appointment of a twelve-member board of directors which was followed by the appointment of Nana Yaw Amponsah as CEO and rounded things up with the unveiling of the eight-member management team.

Since the president eased restrictions on football, clubs have adhered to the Covid-19 protocols by testing their players and technical staff while trying to put their players through their paces.

The Porcupine Warriors are not an exception and went through the process of testing their players and will resume training today at Adako Jachie at 3pm.

The Reds have put plans in motion to transform Adako Jachie into an ultra-modern sports complex Adako Jachie project with local construction firm Nom Company Limited, Construction and Container Modification Company given the task to realize the dreams of Asante Kotoko.

Mathew Kelvin Andoh and Douglas Owusu Ansah have reported Asante Kotoko to the Professional Football Association of Ghana(PFAG), according to Oyerepa FM.

These players had no option but to resort to the player’s welfare body after the club asked them to come for their termination letters without any consultation with these players or their representatives.

Per the intelligence report, Kelvin Andoh was called by the Administrative manager on Tuesday to come for his termination letter likewise Douglas Owusu Ansah.

Both players were amazed because the club had not engaged them to arrive at this decision so complained to the Professional footballers Association of Ghana.

Further checks by Oyerepa FM Sports indicates that Kelvin Andoh personally filed the complaint but for Douglas Owusu Ansah, his father did on his behalf.

AshantiGold continue their preparations with a training game on Tuesday against a lower-tier side Still Hope Academy in Obuasi.

The friendly which was the Miners’ first training game after resuming training last week saw them thrashed the visitors 4-0.

The four-time Ghana Premier League winners are preparing for the 2020-21 Caf Confederation Cup scheduled to begin in November.

The Ghanaian domestic top-flight is also set to commence November 13, 2020.

The Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA), has secured a kit sponsorship deal for clubs in the region ahead of the 2020/2021 league season.

Chairman of the ERFA Mr. Linford Asamoah Boadu who disclosed this, said the Division 2 clubs in the region do not have adequate jerseys as the GFA regulation requires Division 2 clubs to have about 30 registered players.

He indicated that the lack of jerseys often results in players changing shirts during substitution, a situation that poses serious health risk to these players.

‘I decided to secure a kit sponsorship for the RFA Clubs and with this idea, I got $35,000 sponsor for Eastern RFA which will help every club to have branded jerseys, top and shorts, socks or stockings with specific jersey number for each player. I strongly believe this will go a long way to brand the Eastern Regional game’ he told ghanafa.org.

Former Ghana Football Association vice-chairman Joseph Ade Coker says current Black Stars Charles Kwablan Akonnor is not a world-class coach to be earning a huge $25,000 as monthly salary.

According to the outspoken politician, Akonnor does not deserve the amount being paid to him monthly because he lacks global clout.

He says  rewarding a “black coach with white man’s  certificate’ with huge sums of money is irrational.

” Something should be done about C.K Akunnor’s salary. How can you pay a local coach who has acquired foreign certificate $25,000 and besides he is not a world class coach.” he  Accra-based Angel FM

The tough-talking and outspoken politician insists its ridiculous for a national team coach to receive higher salary than Ghanaian leader Nana Akufo Addo.

Akonnor has accepted to take 40 per cent pay cut due to the Coronavirus.

The former Asante Kotoko coach who was appointed earlier this year is on a $25,000 monthly salary will play his first official game against Mali in an international friendly next month.
