The Senior Law Lecturer at the Ghana of School of Law, Moses Foh-Amoaning claims David Duncan should have been the Black Stars head coach instead of being assistant.
The astute broadcaster asserted that Duncan is an all rounded tactician who understands all technical aspects of the game.
Lawyer Foh-Amoaning also believes that the Ghana assistant coach also played the game and has worked in other countries and has loads of experience.
“I am happy he has David Duncan with him. He is all rounded as he understands the technical aspect of the game and he has played too,” he told Nhyira FM Power Sports.
“I even feel David Duncan should have been the head coach but it is fine he is assistant.”
Duncan was appointed as assistant coach to CK Akonnor in February 2020.
The former Great Olympics great has also handled clubs such as Great Olympics, Sekondi Hasaacas, AshantiGold SC, Asante Kotoko SC, Hearts of Oak and Free State Stars in South Africa.
The 56-year-old has also been in charge of Ghana U17 and U20 national teams.
The National Chapters Committee Chairman, Elvis Hesse Herman has called on the supporters of Hearts Of Oak to rally behind their head coach Edward Nii Odoom to end the team’s ten-year trophy drought.
Nii Odoom in a recent interview said the Phobians will win the upcoming 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title, which will be their first in ten years if achieved.
The 20-time Ghana Premier League winners, which is the second-best in the country, are yet to win a GPL title since they last won it in the 2008/09 season. Asante Kotoko is the club with the most Ghana Premier League titles, 23.
Nii Odoom, who was promoted from Hearts’ B team to replace sacked Kim Grant after matchday one of the cancelled 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season, indicated that everything has been positive ahead of the start of the new season, calling on the fans of the club to continue from where they left off last season to help break the ten-year trophy drought.
And, speaking on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Elvis Hesse urged the Phobia fraternity to throw their weight behind the coach to win the league.
“Hearts supporters are very much behind Coach Odoom and share in his ambition to win the league, he has our full support and we must win the league as he asserts, “NCC Chairman Elvis Hesse Herman said on Oyerepa 100.7FM.
“I will entreat all phobia fans to support our coach and believe in him even when the going gets tough, we should be consistent in our support.
“Winning the league will not be easy but I will advise our coach to also be consistent in the number of wins and draws and minimize the losses as I preach the supporters get consistent, ” he concluded.
The 2020-21 Ghana Premier League is set to commence on November 13.
The father of Medeama SC midfielder Justice Blay, John Blay says he is ready to assist Kotoko to secure the service of his son and put to bed what has been a protracted negotiation period.
Blay has returned to the Tarkwa based side after having a very successful one year loan stint at Asante Kotoko. While at the Porcupine Warriors, the player grew his game and became a popular figure within the playing body.
Upon expiry of his deal, Medeama SC have set a price tag of $50,000 with Kotoko eventually baulking at the fee.
As the whole saga drags and the player’s future hangs in the balance, his father has offered to serve as a mediator and peacefully negotiate his transfer with the parties involved.
A determined John Blay revealed this in an interview with Kumasi based OTEC FM insisting that he can only support his son move to his dream club.
He said, “I’ve supported all the teams my son has played, from Eleven Wise, Medeama, and Kotoko. So now if my son has decided to play for Kotoko, I can’t prevent him from moving to his dream team. I am hoping that Kotoko will have fruitful negotiations with Medeama’s President, Moses Parker.
“My son’s heart is definitely with Kotoko. Since he moved to Kotoko, he has become very popular especially after scoring that goal against Hearts of Oak in Accra.
“Blay is my son and not Moses Parker’s son so I am ready to help Kotoko to negotiate with Medeama to secure his service. I’m ready to meet Kotoko in Tarkwa to negotiate on my son’s behalf,” John Blay concluded.
It remains to be seen how things turn out subsequently, but relations between the two clubs have soured during this period of impasse.
Yesterday, Medeama SC threatened to report Kotoko to the Ghana FA for what they claim as ‘tapping up’ of their player.

Midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has arrived in the Black Stars camp at the Xanthe Resort and spa in Antalya, Turkey.
The 27-year-old who joined Arsenal from Spanish club Atlético Madrid on transfer deadline day has joined his colleagues in camp ahead of Ghana’s International friendlies against Mali and Qatar.
Also joining the team in camp are Kassim Nuhu, Alexander Djiku, Bernard Mensah, Joseph Aidoo and Tarique Fosu who was handed a late call up by Coach C.K Akonnor. Their arrivals increase the number of players to nineteen. Coach C.K Akonnor on Tuesday, October 06, 2020 held his first training session with the squad at the Emir Sports complex in Antalya, Turkey.

Former Ghana international Abdul Razak ” the golden boy” has revealed that houses that were promised Ghana’s 1978 Afcon winning team have still not been given to them.
Ghana emerged winners of the competition after defeating Uganda by 2 goals to nil after which then Head of State General Ignatius Acheampong promised each player and technical team member a 3 bedroom house.
However, following the overthrow of the Acheampong regime the promise was soon forgotten.
“We were all airlifted by a helicopter and taken to Burma Camp after the game where he addressed all of us one after the other.
“We were all told that we were to receive an estate house.
“Until now, nothing has happened we have not received anything.
We were confident that it would happen because there were lots of estate houses but nothing happened.” he stated on Footprints on Citi TV.
Abdul Razak was also named best player of the 1978 Afcon after a string of stellar performances.
Nana Kwadwo Gyasi, Chief Executive Officer of Nana K. Gyasi Company Limited, dealers in building and construction materials, has expressed interest to assist Asante Kotoko financially towards the Adako Jachie project.
The Nana Yaw Amponsah-led administration is in the process of giving the team’s training ground at Adako Jachie a facelift in the next three months.
Since the official announcement of the all-important project on September 22, 2020, a lot of people have expressed interest in supporting the current management in developing the facility.

During Nana Yaw Amponsdh’s meeting with the Greater Accra Circles Council on Monday, October 5, 2020, the supporter’s group contributed 647 bags of cement to the management. Again, a group of supporters known as Real Kum Apem also donated an amount of GHS2,000 to aid the management work on the project.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Hello FM, Nana K. Gyasi disclosed that he will wholeheartedly support the club if he is contacted on any day.
“I’m ready to support the Adako Jachie project financially If they contact me. Kotoko is an asset for the Ashanti kingdom.
“I have worked there before, but currently am engaged. But I’m ready to offer them a sponsorship if they contact me.
The astute businessman also proposed that the Ghanaian giants can hold dinner and invite prominent people to raise funds for other projects.
“In Congo, most of the clubs have put up some projects through monies raised during organised conferences and dinners within the club’s vicinity.
“I think Kotoko can alsoDespiteze something like that to raise funds for many projects.
“Kwame Kyei is doing well. The likes of Osei Kwame ‘Despite’ and Kessben did well during their era and I know if we organise a dinner and invite them, they will help a lot., ” he added.
Local firm, Nom Company Limited won the bid to construct the ultra-modern training complex for the Porcupine Warriors.
The training facility when completed will have a secretariat, bed dormitory, dressing room, medical centre, technical room, swimming pool, restaurant, etc.
Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah has kicked against the idea of scrapping payment of lump sums of money to players as signing-on or enticement fees as proposed by many.
According to the Finance expert, it will be a cheat to spread the money for a given period time for the players due to the principle of ‘Time value of Money’.
The enticement fee is a lump sum paid upfront to a player when he agrees to join a club or when renewing his expired contract. The practice is seen by many as a nemesis to the local league. Some believe that the practice impacts heavily on the finances of the local clubs.

Reports in the local media suggest that the practice is being proposed by the current leadership of the two most glamorous clubs Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM, Simon Osei Mensah indicated that efforts should be taken to rather guide the players to know much about how to invest their monies in financial institutions who are into an investment, noting that the players may be cheated if the money is spread for them.
If they really want to help the players they should assist them to know how to invest the money. The players will be cheated if they spread it. In finance, we have something we call the time value of money. What 1000 Ghana cedis was used to do in January will not be able to do the same now.
Secondly, if the player had invested that same 1000 Ghana cedis, he would have earned much interest on his money.
So, if you’re spreading the money equally without considering the interest that would be accrued on their money, then it is not the best, it’s a cheat.
“If they want to help them, they should guide the players to engage an investment company to help them with investment opportunities available, ” he told Hello FM.
“Even if they don’t put it in an investment which is liquid but decides to purchase a plot of land, the cost of it will appreciate in two years time.
“I think if the signing-on fee is there to give it to them in bulk, they should help them to invest the money rather than saying they are increasing their monthly salaries.
“If they get it in bulk, and even invest in Treasury bills, by the time their career comes to a close, they will get good money.
“But if you decide to spread it, only a few of them can manage and save.
“I know they want to help the players, but they should select the best option, ” he added.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has delivered some boost for former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi by quashing his lifetime ban and reducing it to 12 years.
The Swiss-based organisation is reported to have communicated the news to the former FIFA Council member and CAF 1st Vice President on Tuesday after he appealed the decision of FIFA.
According to a report on a local radion station Nhyira FM in Ghana, FIFA has also been informed of the decision but this has not been independently confirmed by the three parties.
It is not known if the other sanctions against Nyantakyi have been dropped following the appeal at sport’s highest court.
If this is true, it means Nyantakyi can return to the administration of the game in 2029 but can attend football matches even though he cannot play a part in the administration of the game for now.
Nyantakyi, a former member of FIFA’s General Council, was found guilty after being filmed by an investigative journalist in a hotel room appearing to take a $65,000 bribe from a supposed businessman seeking to sponsor the Ghanaian football league.
He was also fined 500,000 Swiss Francs ($498,000).
“The adjudicatory chamber found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics,” FIFA said in a statement.
“As a consequence, Mr Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.
FIFA handed a life ban from all football-related activities by FIFA in October 2018 following various violations of the governing body’s ethics code, including bribery and corruption.
Nyantakyi, who was also a former vice-president of the Confederation of African Football, resigned in June after a recording by undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas appeared to show him demanding kickbacks to pass on to top government officials, including the presidency.
Nyantakyi later apologized to Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo and the government for what he called his “indiscretion”.
