Emmanuel Clottey rifled in a free-kick in the last kick of the match to earn a 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko at home and you can chalk it up to experience.

The former Ghana Premier League goal-king rolled back the years to deliver a sumptuous kick from the edge of the box which zoom past substitute goalkeeper Kwame Baah. Harsh for Kotoko to take but that is the reality of football.

The visitors had taken the lead in the first half through Kwame Poku and for chunk of the match it looked like it was a sealed victory.

The Porcupine Warriors were simply just mechanical and squeezed out a win with Chelsea dictating the pace and calling the shots.

Kotoko had lost drawn their opener 1-1 with Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium in a home-away-from-home fixture.

Poku could have grabbed a brace before half time but shockingly missed from yards out after being put through by Emmanuel Gyamfi.

Chelsea coach Hesse Odamtten shuffled his cards and introduced former Ghana Premier League goalking Emmanuel Clottey.

After some minutes, Clottey announced his presence with a banana free kick which was heavily flapped back into play by goalkeeper Annan for the Kotoko defenders hooked it way heavily.

Captain Amankona’s header was smothered by another fine save from Annan.

The win for Kotoko was dented by the injury to goalkeeper Annan who was at the receiving end of a dangerous tackle from Jordan Opoku.

Highly-rated attacker Hafiz Wontah Konkoni scored to help Bechem United to pick up their first 3 points of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 win over WAFA.

The two clubs locked horns in Bechem today looking for a win for different reasons in the recently started Ghanaian top-flight league season.

In a first half that produced a lot of excitement, Bechem United particularly excelled and also made their efforts count.

In the 25^th minute, star man Hafiz Wontah Konkoni scored with a fine effort to hand the home team a deserved lead.

While WAFA returned from the break to display good form in search of an equalizer to draw level, they could not find a way past a strong Bechem United defense.

In the end, the visitors have been condemned to a narrow defeat and return to Sogakope with no point from Matchday 2 of the Ghana Premier League season.

Great Olympics on Friday night posted a 3-0 win over Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium to bag their maiden 3 points of the new football season.

The capital-based club looked rejuvenated last weekend when they earned a point on the back of a 1-1 draw against title contenders Medeama Sporting Club.

Today, Great Olympics hosted Legon Cities FC in a Matchday 2 encounter in a game that many felt could go any way.

Before the break, the home team displayed good form and took the lead in the final minutes of the first half courtesy of a strike from Gladson Awako.

Determined to get back into the game, Legon Cities FC had a strong start to the second half to search for a goal to restore parity.

Unfortunately, the Royal club was left exposed with Maxwell Quaye finding the back of the net from the penalty spot in the 53^rd minute to give Great Olympics a 2-0 lead.

Later in the last 10 minutes of the game, Samuel Quaye scored in the 83^rd minute to seal a resounding 3-0 win for Great Olympics.

The Citizens failed to control their supporters as they thronged into the Ohene Ameyaw Park in their first home game of the season

Techiman Eleven Wonders failed to comply with government’s decision that all Ghana Premier League games should be played behind closed doors during their 2-0 home win over Ebusua Dwarfs on Friday.

The supporters failed to comply to the rules set by government and enforced by Ghana FA due to Coronavirus disease and forced their way inside the facility to watch the game live while others also climbed buildings and structures nearby to catch a glimpse of the game.

Before the start of the season, government issued a statement that only 25 per cent of each match venue will be opened to supporters but that decision was cancelled few days to kick off as a new order came that no supporter will be allowed entry into match centres because COVID-19 cases keep rising.

A goal each half of the game from defender Tettey Nortey and substitute Prince Okraku were enough to win the game for the debutants.

Okraku’s goal means that he is the only player to have scored two goals in two different games this season.

Wonders are now top of the log with four points since they shared spoils 1-1 with Asante Kotoko on opening day.

Techiman Eleven wonders continued their fine Start to the Ghana Premier league with a convincing 2-0 victory against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs at the Nana Ameyaw Park.

Eleven Wonders began the game feeling so confident of themselves having shared the spoils with Asante Kotoko in game week 1, they quickly moved into action within the first minute of play, threatening the defence of Ebusua Dwarfs, but Goalkeeper Razak Issah and his compatriots were quick to respond to the attacks.

Sensing danger, Coach Ernest Thompson threw more men into defence to prevent attacks initiated by Salifu Ibrahim in midfield for Eleven Wonders.

The Game became intense after the 20th minute when Ebusua Dwarfs setled to also press their hosts, with two goal attempts, but were all thwarted by the host.

Coach Ignatius Osei Fosu rasued rhe standard of play, sending long searching balls to the attackers, and in one of rhe onslots, Prince Kpodo was deemed to have handled to ball in the box with, and thw centee referee on the day quickly spotted that, and called for a penalty in rhe 31st minute

Defender Tetteh Nortey stepped up to shoot to the blind side of the Goalkeeper.

After the goal, wonders pulled back, and allowed their opponent to enjoy play, but could not find the net, sending the game to half time.

The two sides returned to the game after the break looking to improve upon play, but it was the hosts Eleven Wonders who looked more hungrier, bringing in Prince Okraku to strengthen their attack, their desire to score was further enhanced when Prince Kpodo was giving the marching off orders in the 74th minute for a foul on the opponent.

The number deficit affected Ebusua Dwarfs who pulled all men into defence to prevent more goals from their hosts.

Coach Ignatius Osei Fosu reinforced his attack with the introduction of Ashitey Ollenu to force the Dwarfs defence to commit fouls.

The substitutions proved positive for Eleven Wonders when Super sub Prince Okraku latched on a long pass from Ashitey Ollenu to bang in the second goal of the game at the stroke of the final whistle.

Having scored twice, Wonders resirted to ball Joggling at the delight of the disperse home fans for referee to bling proceedings to an end.
