Milovan Cirkovic is ‘Block-headed’ coach who knows nothing about football – Ashgold assistant coach Thomas Duah

Ashantigold SC assistant coach, Thomas Duah has taken a swipe at his superior Milovan Cirkovic after the club secured an impressive 2-2 draw with Hearts Of Oak on Tuesday.

According to him, he would have gotten six points from the club’s opening two fixtures if he had been maintained as the head.

Speaking on Kessben FM on Wednesday, a day after the Miners drew 2-2 away at Accra against the Phobians incensed Duah said;

According to the assistant coach, the head coach knows nothing about football and is only doing “try and error” at the club since he took charge.

“Our head coach knows nothing about football. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s doing try and error”, he said.- Advertisement –

He further more stated that, credit should be given to him when the Yellow and Blacks play good Football.

“I deserve the credit when the team is playing well and today i will warn him at the training grounds. He should be careful with his speeches”, he added

The Miners has two points from two games this season so far in the Ghana Premier League.

They played a 2-2 draw with Karela United in their opener.

Asante Kotoko will leave the shores of the country for Mauritania today ahead of their CAF Champions League game against FC Nouadhibou to be played on November 27, 2020.

The team arrived in Accra on Wednesday morning and are set to jet off to Mauritania with a chartered flight.

The Porcupine Warriors face the Mauritanian champions in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the qualifiers.

The Club has announced a 21-man squad for the trip with goalkeeper Razak Abalora returning to the squad after recovering from COVID-19.

Conspicuously missing from the squad are captain Felix Annan (injured), defender Habib Mohammed (suspension), and Augustine Okrah (injury).

Two Premier League coaches Maxwell Konadu, Henrik Lehm hauled before GFA Disciplinary Committee

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has referred Asante Kotoko Coach, Maxwell Konadu to the Disciplinary Committee for comments made against Referee Daniel Laryea, after the game between Brekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko on match day 2 at the Brekum Golden City.

Club officials and stakeholders were reminded by the GFA ahead of the season to seek redress using the appropriate procedure and made available referee Complaint Forms to all Clubs.

Clubs are to seek redress by filling the form, indicating time, incident, culprits, and submitting to the match review panel within 48 hours after the said match.

The Match Review Panel will then review the performance of the referee or match official and issue a decision on the said incidence.

Clubs, players and officials are urged to use the appropriate processes to address all grievances rather than resorting to making comments against match officials after the game.

COACH HENRIK LEHM TO FACE FA DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

Inter Allies FC head Coach, Henrik Lehm has been referred to the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over comments made against referee Ibrahim Abdulai and his assistants when Karela United hosted Inter Allies on match day 2.

The GFA continues to remind Club officials to seek redress on officiating using the appropriate procedures and have made available referee Complaint Forms to all Clubs.

Clubs are to seek redress on officiating by completing the form, indicating time, incident, culprits, and submitting to the match review panel within 48 hours after the said match.

The Match Review Panel will then review the performance of the referee or match official and issue a decision on the said incidence.

The GFA is therefore urging all coaches and club officials to desist from making comments about officiating in public and use the right channel to seek redress.

A brace ffrom Kojo Obeng Jnr was not enough to earn the Phobians a win as Hans Kwofie’s double handed the Miners a point at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Hearts winger Patrick Razak emerges man-of-the-match against Ashantigold

Winger Patrick Razak commemorated his return to Hearts of Oak with a man-of-the-match performance on Tuesday when the Phonisns were held to a 2-2 draw by Ashantigold.

Razak was adjudged the best player on the night of the match-day 2 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The 25-year-old was handed a starting berth by head coach Edward Nii Odoom in the Phobians first game of the 2020-21 campaign.

Hearts of Oak opened the scoring through Kojo Obeng Jnr. In the 32nd minute before Hans Kwofie pulled parity for the Miners early in the second half.

Razak set up Obeng Jnr. with a sumptuous cross which was met with an equally good header which beat Robert Dabuo.

Kwofie scored again to draw AshantiGold level in the 90th minute.

Razak rejoined Hearts of Oak after leaving Guinean giants Horoya AC for the next three seasons.

Accra Hearts of Oak drew their first match of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season at home to Obuasi Ashantigold SC on Tuesday evening.

The visitors were very exciting to watch for the opening 20 minutes of the match and came close to taking the lead on two occasions but goalkeeper Richard Attah denied Yaw Annor’s bullet shot as Roland Amuzu missed a sitter.

Hearts also got their chance to go in front but striker, Obeng Junior missed a free header as he failed to convert a pinpoint cross from Congolese left-back Raddy Evouka.

Ten minutes later, Afriyie Barnieh capitalized on a lose ball when he easily dispossessed the left back to set up Obeng Junior who slotted home the opener for the home team.

After the recess, Ashantigold SC picked the pieces together and scored on the run of play when Appiah McCarthy released Yaw Annor on the wings whose effort found Hans Coffie who tapped in the equalizer from close range.

Ashanti Gold SC head coach, Milovan Cirkovic has named an attacking starting eleven to face Hearts of Oak this evening in the Ghana Premier League.

The Miners have traveled to the capital and will be playing as a guest to the Phobians in a Matchday 2 encounter of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league season.

Determined to win to amass first 3 points of the campaign, Ashanti Gold SC head coach Milovan Cirkovic has named a very strong team.

Robert Dabuo will man the post for the Obuasi-based club with protection from a back four.

Edward Odoom names Hearts Of Oak starting XI to face Ashantigold in League opener

Odoom has named his first Starting lineup for their first game of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.


Patrick Razak, Kojo Obeng Junior and Daniel Afriyie lead the lines in tonight’s Ghana Premier League clash against Ashanti Gold at the Accra Sports Stadium.


Afutu also gets the nod in midfield for the Phobians, with Emmanuel Nettey and Frederick Ansah Botchway completing the midfield.


Robert Addo could not make the squad so Mohammed Alhassan starts alongside Nuru Sulley – and Raddy Ovouka and Larry start as fullbacks with Richard Attah in post.
