WAFA SC on handed Bechem United 1-0 defeat on Sunday at the Sogakope Park in their match-day 19 Ghana Premier League fixture.

Lawrence Agyekum snatched the only goal on the afternoon.

The Academy Boys were poised to pick the maximum points following a recent dip in form as they hoop to finish well in the second round of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

The good news for Kotoko is that, Black Stars defender, Christopher Nettey has returned to the squad after missing the last game against the Hunters. In-form Brazilian duo Fabio Dos Santos Gama and Micheal Vinicius are all available for selection.

Berekum Chelsea will come in high spirits following their 2-1 win over Legon Cities in their last game.

Liberty Professionals returned to winnings ways after an emphatic 4-0 win over visiting Elmina Sharks at the WAFA Park on day 19 of the Ghana Premier League.

From a 2-0 defeat in their last game against Bechem United, Liberty Professionals needed to pick all points as they continue to fight to leave the relegation zone.

Abraham Wayo, who has been impressive this season had a glorious opportunity for the opener but his attempt was well saved by the Sharks keeper in the opening minutes of the game.

Paul Kwame scored the first goal of the game in the 36th minute for Liberty Professionals with a powerful header to see the home side take the lead in Sogakope.

Liberty went into the break with the lead through Paul Kwame’s header.

In the second half, Liberty’s goal scorer Paul Kwame was replaced by George Amoako.

The Dansoman-based side who were playing away from home due to their license revoked by the Club Licensing Committee increased their lead through Simon Appiah in the 68th minute of the game.

The Scientific Soccer lads pressured the visitors and we’re were awarded a penalty in the 68th minute.
Kweku Karikari scored from the spot-kick to put the game beyond the visitors.

Former Asante Kotoko forward William Opoku scored the final goal of the game just three minutes after coming on as a substitute.

AshantiGold rreturned to winning ways after beating Hearts Of Oak in the match-day 19 of the Ghana Premier League in Obuasi.

Hearts had a penalty to take the lead in the 18th minute but Victor Aidoo’s spot-kick was saved by Kofi Mensah.

Amos Addai secured the 3 points for the Miners after converting a penalty in injury time.

A late penalty nicely converted by Amos Addai handed AshantiGold their first win against Hearts of Oak at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in almost a decade.

The visitors enjoyed possession at the early stages of the duel, and the Phobians were awarded a penalty to take the lead, but Victor Aidoo’s kick was met with an impressive save by goalkeeper Kofi Mensah.

AshantiGold seeing the danger stepped up their game and controlled the pace.

They came close to scoring l when Kusi Brooklyn met a good cross from Samed Mohammed but the former Asokwa Deportivo forward failed to find the back of the net.

The Miners continued to dominate the game and came close again in the 73rd minute.

But Amos Adai after a good work on the right flank set David Abagna up, but the midfielder skied his effort.

The deadlock was finally broken in the the dying embers of the game.

AshantiGold’s effort was finally paid off when they were presented with a penalty after Mohammed Fatawu handled the ball in the box, Amos Addai stepped up and converted the penalty to steal all 3 points for the Miners to have not beaten Hearts at the venue since 2013.

The 1-0 victory lifts AshantiGold to 6th on the league table with 26 points after 19 games, whiles Hearts of Oak remain in 4th position with 30 points after 19 games.
