Ebusua Dwarfs made the headlines after beating Karela United 4-1 on match day 31 of the Ghana Premier League on Monday.

The crabs put in a decent effort to win only their second away game in the League and to move out of the relegation Zone. Dwarfs had a good run in the first round of the season but a string of poor results have pushed them down the table and now sit in 12^th place with 37 points.

Stop gap Coach Kuuku Dadzie is on smooth sailing after picking six points from the last two matches since his appointment. The former Ghana defender led them to a 1-0 win against Inter Allies before the 4-1 thumping of Karela United – scored 5 and conceded one.

They gave Hearts of Oak scary moments in the first round until Isaac Mensah’s late strike dented their hopes and swung the game in favour of Hearts of Oak.

On Sunday, they take on Accra Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast stadium in a make or break contest.

Hearts of Oak are currently buzzing with energy after the famous win against rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday. The Phobians opened a three point gap at the top of the table to flutter the title race in their favour. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored the only goal of the match in the 66^th minute to give Hearts all the spoils.

Accra Hearts of Oak have won eight and drawn one in their last nine Premier League matches and have not lost a game since Sunday, May 2 when they lost 2-0 to Dreams FC at Dawu.

They top the League table with 59 points – 22 points ahead of Ebusua Dwarfs who are 12^thin the table. The Phobians head into the match buoyed by the resounding victory against Asante Kotoko – having registered 20 goals across competitions since May.

The match which is scheduled for 6pm kick off on Sunday will be shown live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247.

The Tarkwa Akoon Park, will be the grounds for the battle between Medeama Sc and Elmina Sharks in the Ghana Premier League matchday 32 of which Ho based class one 1 Referee, Rustum Gameli Senorgbe has been appointed to handle on Sunday, July, 4, 2021.

The broadcaster will be assisted on the lines by Emmanuel Dei and Kenneth Tweneboah-Kodua, while Eso Doh Morrison mans the fourth official post.

Williams Gidiglo is Match Commissioner for the tie which both Teams critically need the 3 points; Medeama, to make the top 4, Elmina Sharks to survive relegation.

Rustum has been in the centre of 2 Medeama matches this season; a 0-0 away draw against Legon Cities on match day 3 on November 27, 2020 and a vital 1-0 home win on match day 12 against league leaders Accra Hearts of Oak on February 4, 2021.

Elmina Sharks lost 2-0 to already relegated Inter Allies on matchday 23 on May 9 at Dawu.

The Sharks are 17th on the league log with 35 points, and will put in the all, as they picked a point in the last home game against Great Olympics.

As the season nears its wrap up, the SWAG member, Rustum has had a fantastic officiating time in his third season with the Ghana Premier League.

His experience and expertise, mental toughness and resilience, integrity and humbleness with fair officiating will definitely be sought after in the coming seasons, as his outings this season speaks much of.

Uninspiring Asante Kotoko drew 1-1 with city rivals, King Faisal, at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Porcupines hosted the Insha Allah boys in matchweek 32 fixture with the Porcupines aimed at going level on points with Hearts in the title race.

Kotoko started the game on the front foot, winning successive set pieces around the King Faisal box.

Emmanuel Keyekeh went close when his goal-bound effort was stopped brilliantly by goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.

Moments later, Augustine Okrah benefited from poor goalkeeping by Danlad Ibrahim in the 10th-minute after he failed to pick an aerial ball. The ball fell on Okrah whose strike gone a whisker of the upright.

King Faisal then broke the deadlock in the 15th-minute through Zubairu Ibrahim who stole in behind Samuel Frimpong to tap home from Enock Morrison cross.

Superb intricate passes from Kotoko kept the home fans entertained, but the equalizer was still elusive to end the first half.

Kotoko began the second half the brighter of the two as they continued to boss possession in a search for an equalizer but King Faisal defense stood tall to thwart all the Reds’ efforts.

Kwame Peprah in the 69th-minute stole the Kotoko defense to latch on Abdul Wadudu’s through pass and rounded goalkeeper Kwame Baah but his effort hit the upright.

Second-half substitute, Andy Kumi then fetched the equalizer for Mariano Barreto’s side in the 84th-minute to draw level for the Reds in a thrilling encounter in Obuasi.

Asante Kotoko escaped a late scare when Zuberu’s last-gasp effort was brilliantly saved by Kwame Baah to keep the Porcupines in the game.

The result keeps Asante Kotoko at the second position with 57 points, two points adrift Hearts who plays Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday in Cape Coast.

Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has named his starting XI to face King Faisal in the Kumasi derby at the Len Clay Stadium this afternoon.

The Porcupines will face off against the Insha Allah boys in matchweek 32 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.

However, Barreto has named Kwame Baah in post with Samuel Frimpong and Imoro Ibrahim who replaces Nettey and Asmah respectively flanking him.

Abdul Ganiyu and Andrews Appau will be at the heart of defense once again with Mudasiru Salifu and Emmanuel Keyekeh shielding them in midfield.

Fabio Gama will play ahead of them with Emmanuel Gyamfi and Augustine Okrah on the flanks.

Evans Adomako will lead the lines for the Porcupines this afternoon.
