Kingson recommended Joe Wollacott – Milo

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has disclosed that new goalkeeper Joe Wollacott was handed his maiden call up to the Black Stars following a recommendation by former international, Richard Kingson.

Explaining his decision to invite Wollocott, Milovan indicated that, Kingson, who doubles as the goalkeeping coach of the senior national team. scouted the youngster.

According to Milovan , he was convinced upon watching several videos of him.

“It was the work of Richard Kingston because he did the scouting work and he suggested this goal keeper to me,” Milovan revealed.

“I watched many videos of him and the decision was made to include him in the squad and when he came, he proved himself and got the chance which he used very well,” he added.

Milovan also touched on new sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and why he was handed his debut game in the 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe in the World Cup qualifiers.

“He recommended himself with his performance for U-20 team and when he came to the camp, he proved himself at the training sessions and the training match so he showed me he has to get the chance and I am quite satisfied with the way he is developing and he is a beautiful talent and a player with a great future in professional football,” he said.

“I am a very democratic person. I am open to hearing people’s opinion because it is important but in the end, I am the one who is making the decision because it is my job at stake and I am responsible after all.

“First of all, I am professional and I expect professional approach from everybody. Nobody can mean better to the players than I can mean good for them so I expect professional approach towards me and I am trying to be professional towards everyone around.

“This is what I had in Ghana but unfortunately in other places, this wasn’t the case so that’s why some jobs ended earlier than it is supposed to be because I didn’t have that kind of approach.

“That is why coming here, I knew what to expect and this is the environment that I really enjoy and the people I work with so I am quite positive in terms of making good things. I am not an autocratic person, I am open to opinions. I think people who cannot work with me cannot work with many other people.

“I believe I am good for team work but in the end, I make the tough decisions and suffer the consequences of things go wrong,” he concluded.

GFA hand 3-year suspensions to three players for double registration

Three players have been handed 3-year suspensions after been found guilty of double registration by the GFA Disciplinary Committee in accordance with Article 28(2)(c) of the GFA RFA Leagues Regulations.

Seth Abatsa of Talon FC and John Wornegou of Fotobiman FC who were both found to have altered their dates of birth and other registration details, have been handed 3-year bans from all football related activities.

Their Clubs have also been banned from registering new players for a period of one year.

The Disciplinary Committee also confirmed a decision of the Northern Region Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee which handed a ban to STK Stars FC’s Abubakari Sadik Saeed.

The GFA’s IT Department has been tasked to delete the altered records of the three players with immediate effect.

All players with double registration details in the FIFA Connect system are advised to delete their altered records as a more severe punishment would be given to such players going forward.

Official : Asante Kotoko Announce The signing Of Cameroonain Striker Mbella Etouga Thierry .

The 20-year old has joined the porcupine on a three-year contract from Cameroonian side.

Etouga was superb in the Cameroonian Elite one League last term where he scored 8 goals and provides 9 assists in 21 games.

“We are delight to announce the signing of Cameroonian U20 forward Mbella Etouga. The 20-year old joins us on a three -year deal from A.S Fortune in the Cameroonian top-flight.

The club has announced this signing on their social media handle.

The Cameroonian has already arrived in Dubai where Kotoko having their pre-season training.

Etouga has joins his country-man George Mefegue Omgba, who joined the porcupine from Avion academy on three-year deal.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Confirm George Mefegue Omgba As New Signing.

Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of highly -rated Cameroonian striker George Rodrigue Mefegue Omgba, the club have announced on Monday.

The porcupine warriors have added the 24-year old to boost their attacking options in the upcoming as they eye the ultimate.

Mefegue is joining the Ghanaian giant from Avion academy where he has been Skipper and the club’s top scorer in last three seasons.

He ended Cameroon elite one championship last season as second highest scoring player having netted 10 goals.

“The Cameroonian goal Poacher joins us from Avion academy on a three-year deal.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced his signing on their social media handle.

Mefegue who scored 26 goals all-together for Avion in the cameroonian top-flight has penned three-year contract with Asante Kotoko.

2022 AWCON Q: Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo names Black Queens squad to face Nigeria

Black Queens Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has named a squad list of 22 players to face Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers.

The list includes four foreign-based players with Israel based defender Blessing Shine Agbomadzi making a return to the squad.

Portia Boakye and Spain-based duo Princella Adubea and Grace Asantewaa completes the list of foreign based players invited for the hurdle.

Ghana will take on the Super Falcons of Nigeria in two legs set for October 20 and 24 respectively with the winner of the two matches progressing to the final round of qualifiers for Africa’s flagship female competition.

Don’t give up – Samuel Boadu assures Hearts fans of qualification after slim win over WAC

Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu is positive his side will make it to the group stage of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League after a slender 1-0 win over Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) on Sunday afternoon.

Forward Isaac Mensah scored in the first half as Hearts of Oak picked up an important 1-0 victory over Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the CAF Champions League play-off in Accra.

Mensah controlled a clever delivery by midfielder Ibrahim Salifu into the net for the only goal of the tight contest at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Moroccan champions managed to put the ball in the net in the final minutes, but the goal was correctly chalked off for offside.

Boadu has assured the club’s supporters to rally behind the team as they make a trip to the North Africa country next weekend for the return leg at the Stade Mohammed V.

According to him, his outfit has enormous quality to oust the Moroccans and make it into the group stage of the inter-club competition.

“We have learnt a lot from this game [against WAC]. We’ll surely manage our style of play in the return leg tie for a good outcome in Morocco,” Boadu told reporters after the game

“The fans shouldn’t give up and that’s our motto ‘Never Say Die’. We are travelling to Morocco to qualify for the next stage of the competition”

With the result, any kind of draw in the second leg will be enough to take Hearts of Oak through to the group stage for the first time since 2006.

The match will be played on Sunday, October 24 in Casablanca.

The tactician believes his team will qualify definitely into the money zone next week.

Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu is very optimistic of his qualification in the money zone, after beaten WAC of Morocco 1-0 in the preliminary round in the first leg at home.

Ghanaian giant have a slim advantage ahead of Moroccan side after a wonderful strike by Isaac Mensah that earned them home win in the first leg tie in Accra Sports stadium.

The young and talented coach promised Hearts of Oak supporters to support the team massively as they visit their counterpart next week for the second leg at Stade Mohammed V.

“We have learnt a lot from this game against WAC,we will surely manage our style to play in the second leg for a good outcome in Morocco.

The fans shouldn’t give up on the team and that our motto is “Never say Die”.we are going to beat WAC in Morocco to qualify to the next stage of the competition.
