Black Stars midfielder Edmund Addo is set for a move away from Sheriff Tiraspol in the summer after emerging on the radar of several European clubs.
Addo’s Agent, Oliver Arthur confirmed to Accra based Angel FM that the 21-year-old has received formal bids from clubs in Netherlands, Belgium and Serbia, to name a few.
Though ArthurLegacy Football Agency are weighing the offers for a protracted move, there is a 95% chance the ex-Senica midfielder will leave the Moldovan League leaders in June.
Edmund Addo rose to fame and attracted a lot of interests from other European clubs following his exploits for Sheriff in Group D of this season’s Uefa Champions League, where the Wasps finished third behind Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
Karela United put up a convincing performance to earn a 1-1 draw at Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League on Monday afternoon.
The Ayinase-based side have managed to become the third club this season to pick a point at the Nana Gyeabour Park.
The only two clubs to have achieved this feat this season were WAFA and Asante Kotoko.
Bechem after losing 3-2 to Eleven Wonders were looking to bounce back and cut down the gap between them and Kotoko but that did not happen.
Bechem were off to a bright start with Augustine Okrah and mates combining so well to create chances and go for a goal with Karela siting deep.
Despite their dominance, Bechem could not find the back of the net to end the first half goalless.
After the break, Umar Bashiru shot Karela in front in the 48th-minute before Augustine Okrah levelled for Bechem.
The Hunters has found Karela very tough customers and had hoped to break that jinx after suffering a defeat last week against Wonders.
But Karela who ended the game with 10 players were resolute and held off the late pressure from Bechem to take home a valuable point.
With the spoils shared at the end, Bechem United maintains their second position with 45 points while Karela climb to the eighth position with 37 points.
Bechem United next travel to Kumasi to take on King Faisal with hosting Gold Stars in Anyinase.
President of Cameroonian top-flight side Avion Academy of Douala, Pierre Batamak according to a report filed by Kick442.com has hinted that they will report Asante Kotoko to FIFA in May.
This comes after the Porcupines failed to meet their obligations after signing striker Georges Mfegue last year.
According to the report, Kotoko have failed to pay the remaining €15000 transfer fee agreed before Mfegue’s switch to the Reds.
“They were supposed to complete the payment on March 15 but have not done so to date,” president Pierre Batamak revealed before mentioning his plans going forward.
“If payment is not made by May 1st, we will work with our legal team to report Kotoko to FIFA,” president Batamak added.
According to our findings, Kotoko paid 50% of the player’s transfer fee after he joined them last October but were supposed to pay the rest by March 15 but they have not done so.
Kotoko has this week to make the payment to avoid legal disputes with Avion officials.
Mfegue Georges has been crucial to Kotoko’s charge towards another domestic title; scoring six goals and provided three assists in 20 games.
Mfegue joined the club alongside compatriot Mbella Etouga – the current lead scorer in the Ghanaian Premier league with 17 goals.
Former Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah has remarked that managing the national team comes with a lot of pressure that can be overwhelming, and that he would not recommend anyone to take on that post.
The 61-year-old has two stints as head coach of the senior national team, the most recent of which ended when his side was eliminated in the round of 16 at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
“There are so many pressures you deal with at the National team level. Some with the GFA, clubs, agents, the players themselves coming with their egos and so if you don’t take a break [and] you want to stay under this pressure, you will die,” he said on Untold Stories TV GH, a YouTube channel.
He added that concentrating on other things became really challenging during those periods.
“When I used to be up there, as I am sitting with you now chatting, my mind will be somewhere else. You don’t have the time to concentrate on the things around you.”
“You are always planning tactics and how to beat an opponent. It’s not something I will advise someone to get there. People sometimes think the National team is easy and they can just walk in there, the pressure in it is not advisable.”
Appiah is now the head coach of Kenpong Football Academy where he now nurtures young talents.
Spanish side, Granada CF are on the verge of signing a Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.
Granada who are struggling in the ongoing Spanish are looking for a balance in their team. The club sit 18th on the league log with 30 points.
With Aitor Karanka in charge with the aim of saving the club relegation, Wakaso has been identified as the right man to bring stability to the club.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Baidoo has named Bechem United as the club that have impressed him in the league so far.
The Hunters have been impressive in the league so far, lying on the second spot with 44 points, 8 points adrift leaders Asante Kotoko.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Baidoo was asked to mention his best clubs of the season so far and chose the Bechem-based club.
The 23-year-old who has struggled to get back into the Hearts team after a dismal performance in their last African campaign in his opinion snubbed the Phobians.
Baidoo discussed how their rivals Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars have also impressed him but named Bechem United as the best so far.

Retired FIFA Referee Joe Debrah has vowed to follow Referee Selorm Yao Bless to the Appeals Committee, should he banned by the GFA Match Review Panel over his penalty decision in the Ghana Premier League match-day 26 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Legon Cities in Kumasi on Sunday.
Referee Yao Bless awarded a penalty to Legon Cities in the 14th minute after Captain Jonathan Attuquaye, who was a good position to score, was brought down by Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey.
Angry Kotoko players confronted Referee Yao Bless to register their displeasure over the penalty decision, with a protest that lasted 3 minutes before Legon Cities midfielder Michel Otou stepped up to convert the spot kick.
Despite several agitations by fans of the Porcupine Warriors, Joe Debrah, who is also an ex-Chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana insists it was a clear penalty that requires no review.

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has blamed his side’s defeat to Legon Cities to some costly errors committed by his defense.
The league leaders were defeated 3-1 by the visitors at the Baba Yara Sports on Sunday afternoon.
The victory is the club’s first over Kotoko since 2017 when they were known as Wa All Stars at the time.
Speaking after the game, Ogum blame the slow performance of the team for the defeat and also pointed out the defensive errors that contributed greatly to the loss but was confident his side will bounce back against WAFA next weekend.
“I can’t really tell…They looked so slow on the field of play, their movement wasn’t the usual movement. I can’t really tell what was actually wrong with them on the field. It’s a game over so we only have to make sure that we get back and do the right things for the next game.” – He told StarTimes in a post match interview.
He also added, “I think it’s just like one of the bad days at the office. I mean is one of the bad days on the field. Defensively, I think we allowed them spaces especially looking at the third man without the ball, we didn’t keep an eye on those players who acted as third players running without the ball and if you look at the second goal that we conceded, and then the third goal were photocopies of each other. I mean it was just a simple tap in and a simple header into the goal and in such positions you expect that the defenders should be there to clear their lines but they were not there. You see, you can be at a position but when you are there and you are not doing what defensively you are not supposed to do then you are just there to add up to numbers but I said, it has happened.”
“These are the very players who have played up to this level getting us to where we are now. You don’t blame them too much. I mean they’ve done their best on the field today but it wasn’t enough. As you said, probably I have to sit down with them and find out what the issue is. Apart from that, I think nobody should cut them into pieces. They should keep their heads up and chest out. Eight more games to go. We only have to focus and make sure that we win as many games as we can to move on,” he ended.
Despite the defeat, Kotoko maintain an eight-point lead at the top, but their advantage will be cut to five if Bechem United beat Karela United on Monday.
