The management of Asante Kotoko have respectfully taken off Otumfuo’s Image on their recently unveiled 2022-23 Jerseys.

This follows after the bankroller of King Faisal football club, Alhaji Karim Grusah described the move to emboss the image of the great King on Jersey as uncivilised.

After Alhaji’s comment on the new jersey, the jersey became a much talked about subject among football fans, journalists, and football administrators regarding whether or not it is right to emboss an image on a football jersey.

The seat of the Asantehene, Manhyia as per reports was not happy over the development as deep throats sources revealed that permission was not sought before using Otumfuo’s image on the jersey.

The local media in Kumasi reported that the CEO of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah had been summoned by Manhyia over using Otumfuo’s image on the Jersey without according the necessary processes.

However, latest development is that, the management in collaboration with Errea have considered letting sleeping dogs lie over the Jersey brouhaha as they take off the image of Otumfuo on the jerseys which will be used for the season.

Starting this week, former Light FM Sports journalist, Opoku Afriyie released footage that captures Accra Hearts of Oak’s clubhouse which is part of the Pobiman Academy Project that was started some years ago.

Hearts of Oak players, both the senior team and junior team have their respective accommodation at the facility which will now camp at Pobiman.

A tour of the facility by Opoku Afriyie showed that the all-white building is a two-bedroom apartment and will be a camping base for the team on matchdays.

Opoku Afriyie who was completely amazed by the facility built by the Phobians praised Togbe Afede XIV and commended him for buying such a magnificent edifice for Accra Hearts of Oak.

After the purported Hearts of Oak clubhouse had gone viral, there came news that the viral edifice doesn’t fully belong to the above-mentioned sporting club as reported by the former Light FM Sports journalist, Opoku Afriyie.

Consequently, in the studios of Kumasi-based Pure Fm, OB Trice, a renowned sports pundit, descended heavily on Opoku Afriyie for deceiving the public, football fanatics not excluding himself (OB Trice).

Fast forward, Opoku Afriyie has clapped back accordingly following the remarks made by OB Trice of Pure FM fame as the former Light FM Sports journalist regarded those comments as uncouth, demeaning and insulting!

Former Ghanaian international, Yaw Preko has been handed over the head coaching role at Great Olympics according to reports from a whistleblower.

As we reported earlier, Coach Annor Walker is heading to newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Samartex FC ahead of the 2022/23 Football Season.

However, the 47-year old who was the assistant coach to Annor Walker has been promoted to lead the team for the upcoming Ghalca top 6 as well as the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season which kicks start on September 9, 2022.

The former Black Satellites trainer has previously managed Hearts of Oak, Ifeanyi Ubah and Medeama SC.

Hearts of Oak are reportedly closing in on signing their top target, Jonah Attuquaye from Legon Cities in the ongoing transfer window.

According to Phobianews, the FA Cup record winners, Hearts Of Oak are close to finalising an agreement with the Legon Cities midfielder.

The report says, Hearts gaffer Samuel Boadu has identified Attuquaye as his priority target and negotiations have been opened for a number of weeks.

Talks progressed well over the weekend and have continued in the early part of this week, and the two clubs have now agreed the broad principle of a deal. Hearts are hopeful that Attuquaye will join the club in the coming days.

One issue holding up completion of the deal is over payments to Attuquaye and his agent, though that is close to being resolved.

Veteran football administrator, Alhaji Karim Grusah has warned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to desist from any move to give Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko more money than the other clubs in the Ghana Premier League after securing a sponsorship deal with betPawa.

The Ghana FA on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, unveiled the betting company as the official headline sponsor of the Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

The company is set to pump $6 million into the Ghana Premier League, 2 million dollars for every season for the next three years.

Reacting to speculations that there are plans by the GFA to give Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko more money than the other clubs, Alhaji Grusah who is the owner of King Faisal has warned that he will not sit and watch.

He is calling on other clubs to join him to take on the Ghana FA if indeed such a thing is being considered.

“They can’t tell us that nonsense. If they are big clubs, they are big clubs in their home. I’m going to find out from the FA and if this is true they will see something. I’m calling on the clubs, let’s all not sit and entertain this. If they are big clubs then we will all boycott the league for them to play the league alone,” Alhaji Grusah told Accra-based Angel FM in an interview.

Accra Great Olympics according to a report has shown strong interest in signing former Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi.

Footydreamsgh understand that coach Yaw Preko has told the management of the club to do everything possible to sign the striker ahead of the new season.

The Dade boys believes Kordzi with his experience will help the team going into the next season Premier League.

The club according to a report has started talking with the striker for possible transfer to Accra Great Olympics.

Kordzi was released by Hearts of Oak after deeming him as surplus to requirement.
