Hearts Of Oak are close to extending the contract of their priceless attacker, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
Barnieh has been impressive since joining the Phobians in January 2020 after signing a three-year deal.
The talented sharpshooter has been outstanding in the last two seasons, and several reports suggest the Africa Under-20 championship winner could leave the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.
But according to a member of the club’s board, Vicent Sowa-Odotei, Hearts are almost through with discussions with Barnieh and the player is willing to sign the dotted lines.
“Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has agreed on a deal to extend his contract with Accra Hearts of Oak. We held successful talks and after agreeing on terms, we offered him a contract that reflected those terms. That was done 10days ago,” Sowah-Odotei told Asaase FM.
Barnieh has scored 10 goals and assisted 6 times this season, in all competitions.
He was adjudged the best home-based best footballer by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana after captaining the Black Satellites to win the Afcon U-20 in Madagascar in 2021.
He aided Hearts to win the Ghana Premier League last season, after going 12 years without the trophy.
He joined Hearts from lower-tier side Madina Republicans.
